The One Spec That Trips Up SQ6 e-tron Wheel Buyers

The SQ6 e-tron rides on Audi's new PPE platform, and it brings a bolt pattern that catches people off guard: 5x130, not the 5x112 that Audi has used for years. That is the same PCD as a Porsche, which is fitting, since the SQ6 shares its bones with the Macan EV.

If you are cross shopping wheels from an older Audi or a generic Audi listing, they will not bolt up. The center bore is 66.5 mm and the SQ6 uses M14 x 1.5 lug bolts torqued to 160 Nm. Match the car to its own numbers and you skip the most common mistake on this platform.

A Wider, Staggered Stance Out of the Box

The SQ6 e-tron leaves the factory staggered, with wider wheels and tires at the rear than the front. On the 20 inch setup that is an 8.5 inch wide front and a 10 inch wide rear. On the 21 inch setup it is a 9 inch front and a 10 inch rear.

That stagger is what gives the SQ6 its planted, rear biased stance. Aftermarket rims let you keep that balance while changing the finish, the spoke design, or stepping up in diameter. The goal is a wheel that fills the arches without pushing past the fender line.

20-Inch or 21-Inch: Choosing Your SQ6 Setup

Factory 20 inch (255/50R20 front, 285/45R20 rear). The standard setup. Taller sidewall, the most ride comfort, and the easiest to live with on rough roads. Best if you want a clean stance without giving up compliance.

Factory 21 inch (255/45R21 front, 285/40R21 rear). The optional upgrade. Larger wheel face, shorter sidewall, and a sharper look at the cost of some ride comfort. Best if appearance leads your build.
