Audi TT Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Audi TT is Audi's sport coupe and roadster, sold across three generations: the Mk1 (8N, 2000-2006), the Mk2 (8J, 2008-2015), and the Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023). Audi discontinued the TT after the 2023 model year worldwide, closing the nameplate, so this hub covers a finite window of years. The single most important spec to get right when shopping for a TT is the generation, because the Mk1 ran a 5x100 bolt pattern and the Mk2 and Mk3 moved to 5x112. A 5x100 wheel does NOT bolt onto a Mk2 or Mk3, and a 5x112 wheel does NOT bolt onto a Mk1. Centerbore is 57.1mm across every TT we catalog. M14x1.5 lug bolts across the lineup. The high-performance TT RS variant (Mk3, 2018-2022) is included on this hub because it shares the 5x112 / 57.1mm hub spec with the rest of the Mk3, but its larger Brembo front brake tightens the wheel diameter floor to 19 inch. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs.
Find Your Audi TT Generation
Pick your chassis to see wheels and rims that fit your specific TT. Bolt pattern changes between the Mk1 and the Mk2: the Mk1 (8N, 2000-2006) runs 5x100 with a 57.1mm hub bore, and the Mk2 (8J, 2008-2015) and Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023) both run 5x112 with the same 57.1mm hub. Wheels do not bolt across the Mk1-to-Mk2 transition.
The Audi TT Bolt Pattern
The TT has run two bolt patterns over its three generations. The Mk1 (8N, 2000-2006) used 5x100. The Mk2 (8J, 2008-2015) and Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023) moved to 5x112. The bolt pattern shift is the single most important spec to get right when buying wheels for a TT, because aftermarket wheels listed for "Audi TT" without a year filter will sometimes default to the wrong pattern. A 5x100 wheel does NOT bolt onto a Mk2 or Mk3. A 5x112 wheel does NOT bolt onto a Mk1. Centerbore is 57.1mm across every TT we catalog. Lug spec is M14x1.5 lug bolts (Audi runs bolts on the TT, not studs and nuts).
Worth knowing: the Mk1 TT shared its 5x100 bolt pattern with the VW Group small-car family of the early 2000s (Mk4 Golf, original Audi A3, early Beetle). The Mk2 and Mk3 TT moved to 5x112, the same pattern as the rest of the modern Audi sedan family (A3, A4, A5, A6) and the VW Group passenger-car siblings. That is not a coincidence: the Mk2 TT moved onto the same Audi MQB-era passenger-car architecture as the A3, which already ran 5x112. If you find used OEM TT wheels and want to know which TT they came off, the bolt pattern is the giveaway. 5x100 means Mk1. 5x112 means Mk2 or Mk3. Compare against the rest of the Audi lineup at our Audi wheels and rims hub.
Why the TT Generation and TT RS Brake Change the Wheel Window
The diameter window steps up across generations. The Mk1 (8N) runs 16 to 20 inch in our measured aftermarket window. The Mk2 (8J) and Mk3 (8S) both step up to 17 to 21 inch. The TT RS variant of the Mk3 (2018-2022) ships from the factory with larger Brembo front brakes than the standard TT or TTS, which pushes the minimum wheel diameter on a TT RS to 19 inch. Front larger than rear brake size is the normal configuration on a performance coupe, so the bigger TT RS front caliper is expected, not a quirk. The TT RS also ships with Audi's iconic 2.5L turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, which is part of why TT RS fitments deserve their own catalog row.
Quattro AWD is standard on every Mk2 and Mk3 TT we catalog. The Mk1 had FWD versions in some markets but the AWD Quattro is the more common North American configuration. Drivetrain does not change the bolt pattern. The TT is a square (non-staggered) fitment across every generation. Aftermarket TT builds occasionally go staggered for the look, but square is the recommended configuration and the one we measure against.

- Mk2 TTS (2009-2015): 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore. Same aftermarket diameter and width window as the standard Mk2 TT.
- Mk3 TT (2016-2023): 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17 to 21 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 9 inch. Square fitment standard.
- Mk3 TTS (2016-2023): 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore. Same aftermarket diameter and width window as the standard Mk3 TT.
- Mk3 TT RS (2018-2022): 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 19 to 21 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8 to 9 inch. Larger factory Brembo front brake than the standard Mk3 TT, which pushes the minimum diameter to 19 inch.
Offset windows are controlled per generation and per variant. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific TT (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the TT wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
How We Confirm Fitment on Audi TT Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every TT generation. For the TT that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (especially across the standard TT vs the larger TT RS brake), hub bore confirmation at 57.1mm, lug bolt seat depth, and the bolt-pattern split at the Mk1-to-Mk2 transition. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Audi TT Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on an Audi TT?
It depends on the generation. The Mk1 TT (8N, 2000-2006) used 5x100 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The Mk2 (8J, 2008-2015) and Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023) moved to 5x112 with the same 57.1mm hub. A 5x100 wheel does not bolt onto a Mk2 or Mk3, and a 5x112 wheel does not bolt onto a Mk1. Lug spec is M14x1.5 lug bolts across every TT (Audi runs bolts, not studs and nuts).
Mk1 vs Mk2 vs Mk3 TT: what changes for wheels?
The bolt pattern changes between the Mk1 and the Mk2. The Mk1 (8N, 2000-2006) is 5x100 and the Mk2 (8J, 2008-2015) and Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023) are both 5x112. Centerbore stays 57.1mm across every TT. The diameter window also steps up: 16 to 20 inch on the Mk1, 17 to 21 inch on the Mk2 and Mk3. The TT RS variant of the Mk3 pushes the minimum diameter to 19 inch because of its larger Brembo brake. Each generation needs its own wheel set if you are crossing the Mk1-to-Mk2 line.
Are TT RS wheels different from standard TT wheels?
Same 5x112 bolt pattern and same 57.1mm hub bore as the rest of the Mk3 TT. What changes is the brake package. The TT RS ships from the factory with larger Brembo front brakes than the standard TT or TTS, which pushes the minimum aftermarket diameter on a TT RS to 19 inch. The standard Mk3 TT and TTS clear 17 inch. So an OEM TT or TTS wheel bolts onto a TT RS, but if you go down in diameter you can run into Brembo caliper clearance. The TT RS also runs a slightly wider wheel (8 to 9 inch) than the standard TT (7 to 9 inch) for the wider rear track and meatier tire spec.
Why did the Mk1 TT use 5x100 when later TTs use 5x112?
The Mk1 TT shared its underpinnings with the Mk4 Volkswagen Golf and the original Audi A3 (8L), which were 5x100 cars. So the Mk1 TT got 5x100. When Audi developed the Mk2 (8J, 2008 and up) on a new platform with the second-generation A3 (8P), they moved to 5x112, which was already the bolt pattern on the rest of the modern Audi passenger car family. The Mk3 TT (8S, 2016-2023) carried 5x112 forward. So the bolt pattern history mirrors the platform history: 5x100 for the Mk1, 5x112 for the Mk2 and Mk3.
Are Audi TT wheels staggered?
Square is standard on every TT generation. The Quattro AWD system benefits from the same wheel and tire size on every corner, and the factory configures the TT that way across the Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3, including the TT RS. Aftermarket TT builds occasionally go staggered for the look, but a square setup is the recommended configuration and the one we measure against.
Is the Audi TT still in production?
No. Audi discontinued the TT worldwide after the 2023 model year, closing the nameplate after the Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023). This hub covers a finite window of years (2000-2023) and the wheel fitment specs do not extend forward. If you have a 2023 TT, you have the last model year ever produced.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on an Audi TT?
20 inch on the Mk1 TT (8N, 2000-2006), 21 inch on the Mk2 (8J, 2008-2015) and Mk3 (8S, 2016-2023). 18 to 19 inch is the most common Mk1 aftermarket choice. 19 to 20 inch is the most common Mk2 and Mk3 aftermarket choice. Above the measured window the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops noticeably on a sport coupe and the wheel lip sits at higher curb-damage risk.
Do I need hub centric rings on an Audi TT?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 57.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Get Audi TT Wheels Right the First Time
Pick your generation above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure the TT across the Mk1 (8N), the Mk2 (8J), and the Mk3 (8S); flag the Mk1-to-Mk2 bolt pattern change at the platform jump (5x100 to 5x112); and track the larger TT RS Brembo front brake as its own catalog row. The TT was discontinued worldwide after 2023, so this hub covers the full production run. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
