Bentley Continental Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Bentley Continental is the luxury grand tourer Bentley has built across three generations on VAG Group platforms. Element Wheels measures four Continental fitment families. The 1st generation Continental GT (2004-2011) coupe and convertible, the 1st generation Continental Flying Spur sedan (2006-2013), the 2nd generation Continental GT (2012-2017) coupe and convertible, and the current 3rd generation Continental GT (2018 and up) coupe and convertible on the VAG Group MSB platform. The Continental is one of the few platforms in our catalog where the bolt pattern changes between generations. The 1st and 2nd generation cars run 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The 3rd generation car moved to 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore, which is the same hub interface as the modern Porsche Panamera and the Audi flagship platforms. M14x1.5 lug bolts and a must staggered fitment hold across all three generations. Pick your generation card below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific Continental.

Find Your Bentley Continental Generation

Pick your generation card to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Continental. The 1st generation GT and Flying Spur (2004-2013) and the 2nd generation GT (2012-2017) share the same hub interface, 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The 3rd generation GT (2018 and up) moved to a new hub interface, 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. The bolt math does not cross between the two eras. A wheel built for a 2nd generation GT will not bolt onto a 3rd generation GT, and vice versa. Confirm your year before ordering.

The Bentley Continental Bolt Pattern (and the Generation Change)

The Continental is the rare platform where the bolt pattern changes between generations. The 1st generation Continental GT (2004-2011) and the 1st generation Continental Flying Spur (2006-2013) run 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation Continental GT (2012-2017) carries the same hub interface forward, also 5x112 with 57.1mm CB. The 3rd generation Continental GT (2018 and up) moved to the VAG Group MSB platform, which runs 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. That is the same hub interface as the modern Porsche Panamera. The 18mm separation between 5x112 and 5x130 is significant. A 5x112 wheel will not seat correctly on a 5x130 hub and the lug bolts will stress against the wheel face if forced. The hub bore change from 57.1mm to 71.6mm reinforces the separation. There is no wheel that fits both eras.

The Continental uses M14x1.5 lug bolts threaded directly into the hub across every generation, not studs and nuts. This is the VAG Group standard and Bentley follows it on every Continental. There is no stud to pre align the wheel before tightening, so the centerbore handles the centering job at speed. Hub centric fit matters more on a lug bolt grand tourer than on a stud and nut car, especially on a vehicle this heavy and this fast. Compare across the rest of the Bentley lineup at our Bentley wheels and rims hub.

Trims, Brake Packages, and Why the Continental Is Always Staggered

The Continental ships in coupe (GT) and convertible (GTC) form across all three generations, and the Flying Spur is the 4-door sedan version of the 1st generation car. Trim names across the three eras include the base GT, the V8 (twin turbo V8), the Speed (more powerful twin turbo W12), and the Mulliner luxury package. The bolt pattern and centerbore do not change between coupe and convertible within the same generation, or between V8 and W12 within the same generation. The brake package does scale with the trim. The Speed and Mulliner cars run larger Brembo brakes than the base GT and the V8, and the 3rd generation Continental runs a notably larger front brake than the 1st and 2nd generation cars. The wheel face clearance behind the front spokes is the constraint to watch on deeply concave aftermarket designs, especially on the Speed and on the 3rd generation cars.

Every Continental we sell wheels for is a staggered fitment. The Continental is a heavy grand tourer with serious power (the W12 makes north of 600 horsepower on the Speed variants), and Bentley engineers the chassis around a wider rear wheel and tire to plant the power. The factory ships a noticeably wider rear and the aftermarket window respects that. Square setups are not how the Continental is meant to run. The front brake is larger than the rear on every Continental, which is normal on a heavy grand tourer of this caliber. The front axle handles the majority of the braking load and Bentley scaled the front rotor and caliper accordingly.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Continental (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the Continental wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation, especially on the 3rd generation car or any Speed variant.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Bentley Continental Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the Continental across every generation we sell wheels for. For the Continental that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (the 3rd generation front Brembo is measured separately because it is significantly larger than the 1st and 2nd generation packages), hub bore confirmation at 57.1mm on the 1st and 2nd generation cars and 71.6mm on the 3rd generation car, lug bolt seat depth for M14x1.5 bolts, and the staggered front to rear width and offset relationship that holds on every Continental build. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Bentley Continental Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Bentley Continental?

It depends on the generation. The 1st generation Continental GT (2004-2011), the 1st generation Continental Flying Spur (2006-2013), and the 2nd generation Continental GT (2012-2017) all run 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The 3rd generation Continental GT (2018 and up) moved to 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. M14x1.5 lug bolts throughout. The bolt pattern change between the 2nd and 3rd generation cars is significant. The wheels do not cross between the two eras.

Why did the bolt pattern change in 2018?

The 3rd generation Continental GT moved to the VAG Group MSB platform, which is the same architecture that underpins the modern Porsche Panamera. The MSB platform uses 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore, which is the VAG Group flagship hub interface. The previous Continental platform used 5x112 with 57.1mm CB, the older VAG Group D1 platform spec. The platform change in 2018 is the reason for the wheel hub change. It is a same chassis fact, not a Bentley styling decision.

Will 1st or 2nd generation Continental wheels fit a 3rd generation GT?

No. The 1st and 2nd generation cars are 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The 3rd generation car is 5x130 with a 71.6mm hub bore. The 18mm separation between 5x112 and 5x130 is enough that a 5x112 wheel will not seat correctly on a 5x130 hub, and the lug bolts will stress against the wheel face if forced. Do not attempt to mount a pre 2018 Continental wheel on a 2018 or newer Continental, or vice versa.

What is the lug spec on a Bentley Continental?

M14x1.5 lug bolts across every Continental generation. Bentley threads lug bolts directly into the hub instead of running fixed studs with separate nuts. The bolt holds the wheel against the hub face with no stud to pre align the wheel during mounting. Hub centric fit matters more on lug bolt cars because there is no stud to pre align the wheel, so wheels with the correct centerbore (57.1mm on 1st and 2nd gen, 71.6mm on 3rd gen) are preferred over wheels that need rings.

Does the V8 vs W12 engine change the wheel I can buy?

The bolt pattern, centerbore, and lug spec do not change between the V8 and W12 variants within the same Continental generation. The Speed variant of the W12 runs a larger Brembo brake package than the base V8, and the wheel face clearance behind the front caliper tightens accordingly. The practical wheel selection is the same family on both engines, with the wheel face clearance confirmed against the brake package on the Speed cars. If you have a Continental Speed and are looking at deeply concave aftermarket designs, contact our team before ordering.

Are there separate fitments for the GT coupe and the GTC convertible?

The GT coupe and the GTC convertible share the same bolt pattern, centerbore, lug spec, and fitment window within the same generation. The GTC adds the folding soft top and the structural reinforcement that goes with it, but the wheel well geometry, the brake packages, and the staggered front to rear relationship are the same as the coupe. A wheel that fits a GT coupe will fit a GTC convertible of the same year and trim.

Are Bentley Continental wheels staggered?

Yes. Every Continental we sell wheels for is a staggered fitment. The Continental is a heavy grand tourer with serious power, and Bentley engineers the chassis around a wider rear wheel and tire to plant the W12 or twin turbo V8 power. The factory ships a noticeably wider rear and the aftermarket window respects that. Square setups are not how the Continental is meant to run.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Bentley Continental?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 57.1mm on the 1st and 2nd generation cars, or larger than 71.6mm on the 3rd generation car. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
