The X7 ships with M14x1.25 lug bolts and brake clearance sized larger than the smaller X5 / X6 SUVs at the same trim tier, so even the xDrive40i carries an offset window tighter than a base X5. The BMW X7 Bolt Pattern

The X7 (G07) uses 5x112 with a 66.5mm hub bore on every model year and every trim. The lug bolt thread is M14x1.25. This is the same 5x112 / 66.5mm architecture BMW carried across the X5 (G05) and X6 (G06) chassis that launched in the same era. The X5, X6, and X7 share the modern BMW SUV bolt pattern. The bolt math allows wheels to cross between G05 / G06 / G07 in pattern, but the X7's larger track width, taller ride height, and bigger factory wheel diameters mean a wheel built for an X5 will sit different on an X7 even when it bolts. Brake clearance, front fender clearance, and offset windows are X7-specific.

The X7 is also where BMW pushes wheel diameter the hardest in their SUV lineup. Factory wheels go up to 23 inch on the M50i and Alpina XB7, and the aftermarket window opens up to 24 inch within our measured fitment. Why The X7 Carries A Tighter Offset Window Than A Base X5

The X7 ships with brakes sized one tier higher than the equivalent X5 trim. Even the xDrive40i carries front rotors and calipers larger than the base X5 xDrive40i. The M50i, M60i, and Alpina XB7 step up again from there. Our catalog tracks the X7 with a uniform M-Sport-tier brake spec across all trims because the entry-level xDrive40i already lands at the larger brake size. The front brake is larger than the rear across the X7 lineup, which is standard on a performance SUV at this weight and output. We measure inner-barrel clearance behind the wheel face on the front specifically, because the limiting fitment dimension on the X7 is the front caliper top, not the rear.

The factory staggered setup also matters. A non-staggered (square) build is technically possible on the X7 but does not match the factory geometry, which assumes a wider rear wheel and a narrower front. Going square reduces the visual width of the rear flare without any handling or wear benefit on a three-row SUV. The Alpina XB7 amplifies the staggered geometry further with its own brake package and unique factory wheel design.
