Buick Lucerne Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Buick Lucerne is the full-size sedan Buick built from 2006 through 2011 on the GM H-body platform. It replaced both the LeSabre and the Park Avenue when Buick consolidated its full-size lineup into a single nameplate. The bolt pattern is 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore across every Lucerne model year, with M12x1.5 thread pitch and conical seat lug nuts. Fitment is square front to rear by default and there is no Brembo or upgraded factory caliper variant to track. Element Wheels carries direct fitment for the 2006-2011 Lucerne and the catalog runs from 16 inch through 20 inch diameter. The Lucerne was discontinued after the 2011 model year and the LaCrosse moved up-market to fill the slot the Lucerne vacated.

Find Your Buick Lucerne Year

Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Lucerne. The Lucerne ran a single generation from 2006 through 2011. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and thread pitch are consistent across every production year.

The Buick Lucerne Bolt Pattern

The Lucerne runs the 5x115 bolt pattern with a 70.3mm hub bore across every production year (2006 through 2011). Lug count is 5. Thread pitch is M12x1.5. Lug type is conical seat (lug nuts, not bolts). This is the same 5x115 / 70.3mm spec used on several other Buick platforms from the same era, including the W-body and the Insignia B Regal, and the bolt-on architecture lines up across those platforms (though brake clearance and offset windows differ).

A note on imperial nicknames. The 5x4.5 imperial label refers to 5x114.3 alone. 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches, which is where the imperial name comes from. The Lucerne is 5x115 specifically. It is not 5x114.3, and the imperial 5x4.5 nickname does not apply. The 5x115 and 5x114.3 bolt circles differ by only 0.7mm but the studs do not seat correctly across patterns and the wheels do not safely interchange. Force-fitting a 5x114.3 wheel onto a Lucerne hub puts stress on the studs that will eventually fail. Confirm the 5x115 pattern before ordering. Compare against the rest of the Buick lineup at our Buick wheels and rims hub.

Why the Lucerne Replaced the LeSabre and Park Avenue

Buick spent decades selling two distinct full-size sedans, the LeSabre (entry full-size) and the Park Avenue (flagship full-size). For the 2006 model year Buick consolidated both nameplates into the Lucerne, a single full-size sedan that covered the entire premium full-size slot. The Lucerne sat on the GM H-body platform, ran front wheel drive, and was offered with both V6 and V8 engines. The Northstar V8 trim sat at the top of the Lucerne range and was the last Buick to offer a V8 before the lineup moved fully to V6 and turbo four-cylinder powertrains. Fitment on the Lucerne is straightforward by Buick standards. One generation, one bolt pattern, one hub bore, no Brembo variant, no AWD complication, no Insignia-era European platform transition.

The Lucerne ran through the 2011 model year and was discontinued without a direct successor. Buick moved the LaCrosse up-market to fill the full-size luxury sedan slot, which is why the 3rd gen LaCrosse (2017-2019) carries some of the styling and trim cues that customers used to associate with the Lucerne.

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Lucerne production run:

  • 2006-2011 Lucerne (H-body): 5x115 bolt pattern, 70.3mm hub bore, M12x1.5 thread, 5 lug, conical seat. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16 to 20 inch. Element aftermarket width range: 7 to 8.5 inch all corners. Square fitment. Factory brake size consistent across the production run with no Brembo or upgraded factory caliper variant to track. How We Confirm Fitment on Buick Lucerne Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the 2006-2011 Lucerne. For the Lucerne that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub protrusion past the mounting surface, lug seat depth, and turning clearance front and rear with 18 to 20 inch wheels installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. The Lucerne 70.3mm hub bore matches other Buick platforms from the same era so hub centric ring sizing is straightforward. We do not pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

Buick Lucerne Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Buick Lucerne?

The 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne runs 5x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore across every production year. Thread pitch is M12x1.5 and the lug type is conical seat. These specs hold across every Lucerne trim including the V8 Super.

Is the 5x115 Lucerne bolt pattern the same as 5x114.3?

No. The Lucerne is 5x115 specifically. It is not 5x114.3. The 5x115 and 5x114.3 bolt circles differ by only 0.7mm but the studs do not seat correctly across patterns and the wheels do not safely interchange. The imperial 5x4.5 nickname refers to 5x114.3 alone (114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches). Confirm the 5x115 pattern before ordering.

What is the hub bore on a Buick Lucerne?

Every Buick Lucerne uses a 70.3mm hub bore. This matches other Buick platforms from the same era including the W-body LaCrosse and the W-body Regal. If your fitment needs hub centric rings, they will be included with the order.

Did the Lucerne ever come with Brembo or upgraded brakes?

No. The Lucerne never offered a Brembo or factory-upgraded brake caliper option. The Northstar V8 Super trim uses the same caliper as the rest of the Lucerne lineup. Brake clearance is consistent across every trim and every model year, so the same aftermarket wheel will clear front and rear brakes on a base CX, a CXL, and a Super.

What is the factory wheel size on a Buick Lucerne?

Base CX trims shipped with 17 inch wheels. CXL trims shipped with 17 or 18 inch depending on package. Super trims with the Northstar V8 shipped with 18 inch wheels from the factory. Aftermarket Lucerne builds commonly target 18 or 20 inch as the upgrade size. Our catalog supports up to 20 inch on every Lucerne trim.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Buick Lucerne?

Our measured aftermarket window on the Lucerne tops at 20 inch diameter. 18 inch is the most common upgrade target because it preserves sidewall and ride quality on a full-size sedan. 20 inch builds work in our catalog as well but tighten the tire selection and ride considerations on a front wheel drive luxury sedan.

Are Buick Lucerne wheels staggered?

No. The Lucerne runs square (same width front and rear) in every factory configuration. Our catalog runs square as the default and the fitment window is 7 to 8.5 inch wide all corners. Aftermarket Lucerne builds occasionally choose a staggered setup as a styling decision, similar to other front wheel drive sedans, but the catalog default is square.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Buick Lucerne?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Lucerne's 70.3mm factory hub. If your fitment needs rings, they will be included with the order.
