Cadillac CTS-V Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Cadillac CTS-V is the performance version of the CTS sedan, produced across three generations from 2004 to 2019 with Brembo brakes on every one. Element Wheels measures the CTS-V across all four chassis we sell wheels for: the 1st gen Sedan (2004-2007), the 2nd gen Sedan (2009-2014), the 2nd gen Coupe (2011-2015), and the 3rd gen Sedan (2016-2019). The big surprise on the CTS-V is the bolt pattern transition. The 1st gen (2004-2007) ran a 6-lug 6x115 pattern, which is unusual on a performance sedan and not interchangeable with the rest of the CTS-V line. Every CTS-V from 2009 forward moved to a 5-lug 5x120 pattern. The 3rd gen Sedan also carries a "very tall front brake" trap where most 19 inch wheels do not clear the front caliper. This page is specifically for the CTS-V; the standard CTS lineup lives at /wheels/cadillac/cts and the modern CT5-V (the successor to the CTS-V) lives at /wheels/cadillac/ct5-v.
Find Your Cadillac CTS-V Generation
Pick your chassis to see wheels and rims that fit your specific CTS-V. The first check is lug count. 6 studs means a 2004-2007 1st gen Sedan. 5 studs means a 2009 or newer CTS-V (Sedan or Coupe). The wheels do not bolt across that transition.
The Cadillac CTS-V Bolt Pattern
The CTS-V has run two bolt patterns across its three generations. The 1st gen Sedan (2004-2007) ran 6x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. That 6-lug pattern is unusual on a performance sedan and is the single most common fitment trap on the CTS-V line, because most aftermarket wheels marketed for "Cadillac CTS-V" without a year filter assume the later 5-lug pattern. From 2009 forward, every CTS-V (2nd gen Sedan, 2nd gen Coupe, and 3rd gen Sedan) moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore. The 5-lug pattern is shared with a wide range of GM rear-drive performance cars from the same era and gives the 2009-and-newer CTS-V a much deeper aftermarket wheel selection than the 1st gen.
The easiest check is lug count. 6 studs means the 2004-2007 1st gen Sedan on 6x115. 5 studs means a 2009 or newer CTS-V on 5x120. The wheels do not bolt across that transition; a 6-lug wheel from a 1st gen will not fit any 2nd or 3rd gen CTS-V, and vice versa. Within the 2009-and-newer 5x120 line, the wheels are interchangeable in terms of stud pattern but the offset and brake clearance windows differ by generation, especially on the 3rd gen Sedan.
Why the CTS-V Generation and Brembo Hardware Matter
Every CTS-V ever built ships with Brembo brakes. The hardware grew across the generations: the 1st gen ran a Brembo big brake package matched to its 400 horsepower supercharged V8. The 2nd gen Sedan and Coupe grew the brakes to handle 556 horsepower. The 3rd gen Sedan grew them again for the 640 horsepower LT4 supercharged V8, and the 3rd gen front brake is tall enough that most 19 inch aftermarket wheels do not clear the front caliper. That is a real-world trap we have measured. On the 3rd gen Sedan, plan on 20 inch as the practical minimum aftermarket diameter and confirm the specific wheel was fit-tested against the 3rd gen front brake before ordering.

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the CTS-V generations:
- 1st Gen Sedan (2004-2007): 6x115 bolt pattern, 70.3mm hub bore. Aftermarket diameter: 20 inch. Aftermarket width: 8 to 9 inch front, 9 to 10 inch rear. Optional staggered. Brembo brakes.
- 2nd Gen Sedan (2009-2014): 5x120 bolt pattern, 66.9mm hub bore. Aftermarket diameter: 19 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width: 8 to 9 inch front, 9 to 10 inch rear. Optional staggered. Brembo brakes.
- 2nd Gen Coupe (2011-2015): 5x120 bolt pattern, 66.9mm hub bore. Aftermarket diameter: 19 to 22 inch. Aftermarket width: 8.5 to 9 inch front, 9.5 to 11 inch rear. Must-staggered. Brembo brakes. For a 295 rear tire to fit, offset must be +30mm or higher.
- 3rd Gen Sedan (2016-2019): 5x120 bolt pattern, 66.9mm hub bore. Aftermarket diameter: 19 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width: 8.5 to 9.5 inch front, 9.5 to 11 inch rear. Optional staggered. Brembo brakes. Very tall front brake: most 19 inch wheels will not clear; plan on 20 inch as the practical minimum.
Offset windows are tightly controlled for the Brembo brake clearance. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific CTS-V (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the CTS-V wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation (especially recommended for 3rd gen Sedan buyers).
The 2nd gen Coupe is the only CTS-V we measure as must-staggered (the Sedans accept either square or light-stagger as an aftermarket option). The Coupe also carries the 295 rear tire trap: to run a 295-width tire on the rear, the wheel offset must be +30mm or higher. We flag this before shipping. Compare against the rest of the Cadillac lineup at our Cadillac wheels and rims hub.
How We Confirm Fitment on Cadillac CTS-V Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every CTS-V generation. For the CTS-V that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, Brembo front caliper height (this is the critical one on the 3rd gen Sedan with its tall front brake), hub bore confirmation, lug stud height, rear tire clearance on the must-staggered 2nd gen Coupe, and turning clearance. We measure directly on the sedan or coupe. We do not pull these from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do.
That measurement work is what produced the 3rd gen tall-brake warning and the +30mm minimum offset on a 295 rear tire on the 2nd gen Coupe. It is also why every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Cadillac CTS-V Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Cadillac CTS-V?
It depends on the generation. The 1st gen CTS-V Sedan (2004-2007) ran 6x115 with a 70.3mm hub bore. That is a 6-lug pattern, unusual on a performance sedan. Every CTS-V from 2009 forward (2nd gen Sedan, 2nd gen Coupe, 3rd gen Sedan) moved to 5x120 with a 66.9mm hub bore. The easiest check is lug count: 6 studs means a 2004-2007 1st gen, 5 studs means 2009 or newer.
Will 1st gen CTS-V wheels fit a 2nd gen or 3rd gen?
No. The 1st gen runs a 6-lug 6x115 pattern; the 2nd and 3rd gen run a 5-lug 5x120 pattern. The wheels do not bolt across that transition. From 2009 forward the 2nd gen Sedan, 2nd gen Coupe, and 3rd gen Sedan share the 5x120 / 66.9mm pattern, so wheels generally bolt across in terms of stud pattern, but the offset and brake clearance windows differ by chassis and we measure each separately.
Why do most 19 inch wheels not fit a 3rd gen CTS-V Sedan?
The 3rd gen CTS-V Sedan (2016-2019) carries a Brembo front brake that is taller than the 1st or 2nd gen, matched to the 640 horsepower LT4 supercharged V8. We have measured that most aftermarket 19 inch wheels do not have enough clearance behind the spoke face to clear the front caliper. The practical minimum aftermarket diameter on the 3rd gen Sedan is 20 inch. If you want 19 inch on a 3rd gen, the specific wheel must be fit-tested against that tall front caliper; let our team confirm before ordering.
Is the CTS-V the same as the CT5-V?
No, they are different cars and this page covers the CTS-V only. The CTS-V ran 2004-2019 across three generations. Cadillac replaced the CTS line with the CT5 for the 2020 model year, and the CT5-V (and the higher-output CT5-V Blackwing) is the modern successor to the CTS-V. The CT5-V is on the 5x120 / 66.9mm pattern like the later CTS-V but the offset window and brake hardware are different. CT5-V fitment lives at /wheels/cadillac/ct5-v.
Are CTS-V wheels staggered?
The CTS-V Sedans (1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen) accept staggered as an option (the catalog allows either square or light-stagger). The 2nd gen CTS-V Coupe (2011-2015) ships must-staggered from the factory and we recommend keeping it that way; the wider rear axle and rear-drive power delivery on the Coupe assume the staggered setup. Aftermarket on every CTS-V leans staggered with a wider rear for the visual cue.
Can I run a 295 rear tire on a 2nd gen CTS-V Coupe?
Yes, but the wheel offset must be +30mm or higher. We have measured the 295 rear tire on the 2nd gen Coupe and below +30 offset the tire fouls the inner suspension. At +30 or higher the 295 fits clean. We flag this on the fitment notes before shipping any wheel pitched for a 295 setup on the Coupe.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Cadillac CTS-V?
On the 1st gen Sedan, hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 70.3mm. On the 2nd gen Sedan, 2nd gen Coupe, and 3rd gen Sedan, rings only when the aftermarket wheel centerbore is larger than 66.9mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Cadillac CTS-V?
Pick your chassis above. Confirm lug count first (6 studs means 1st gen, 5 studs means 2009 or newer). Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific CTS-V (each listing publishes its own offset) and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. For the 3rd gen Sedan or the 2nd gen Coupe with a 295 rear, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering, since both chassis have tight clearance windows we have measured. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
