Chevrolet Bolt Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Chevrolet Bolt is GM's compact electric platform produced from 2017 through 2023. Element Wheels measures two Bolt body styles. The original Bolt EV (2017-2023) is the compact five door hatch. The Bolt EUV (2022-2023) is the slightly larger crossover variant launched in 2022 on the same platform. Both share the GM Gamma II battery electric platform and the same 5x105 bolt pattern with a 56.5mm (Bolt EV) or 56.6mm (Bolt EUV) hub bore. The 5x105 pattern is unusual in the aftermarket landscape. It is the same lug pattern used on older Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models and on European Opel Astra J and Insignia A platforms, but very few mass-market American cars run 5x105. Wheel selection on the Bolt is narrower than on more common 5-lug patterns like 5x114.3, so picking the right wheel from a verified-fitment catalog matters more than usual. Pick your Bolt body style below.

Find Your Chevrolet Bolt Body Style

Pick your Bolt body style to see wheels and rims that fit. Bolt pattern (5x105), thread pitch (12x1.5), and lug spec are shared across the two body styles. The hub bore is effectively identical at 56.5mm on the Bolt EV and 56.6mm on the Bolt EUV. The aftermarket diameter window is the same (17 to 20 inch). The width window is the only meaningful split: the Bolt EUV runs slightly narrower aftermarket widths than the Bolt EV because of the crossover body's slightly tighter wheel well geometry on certain offsets.

The Chevrolet Bolt Bolt Pattern and Hub Bore

Every 2017-2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV and every 2022-2023 Bolt EUV runs 5x105 with a 5-lug hub. The hub bore is 56.5mm on the Bolt EV and 56.6mm on the Bolt EUV, a 0.1mm difference that is essentially the same hub. The thread pitch is 12x1.5 across both body styles, which is a narrower lug than the 14x1.5 thread used on most modern full-size GM platforms. The 5x105 pattern itself is shared with the older Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic compact cars (built off the same GM small-car architecture) and with several European Opel platforms (Astra J, Insignia A, Ampera-e). It is not shared with any other modern Chevrolet SUV or truck, so a wheel that fits a Bolt will not bolt onto a Trailblazer, Equinox, or larger GM crossover.

The 5x105 pattern is uncommon enough in the modern aftermarket that the wheel selection is narrower than on a more popular pattern. We catalog Bolt-fit wheels separately and verify each one against the 56.5mm or 56.6mm hub bore directly rather than assuming a generic 5x105 wheel will fit the Bolt's specific hub geometry. Compare across the rest of the Chevrolet lineup at our Chevrolet wheels and rims hub.

Bolt EV vs Bolt EUV: What Changes for Aftermarket Wheels

The Bolt EV is the original compact hatchback, in production from 2017 through 2023. The Bolt EUV is the slightly larger crossover variant Chevrolet launched in 2022 on the same Gamma II BEV platform, with a longer wheelbase, more rear seat room, and slightly different fender geometry. At the wheel hub level the two are essentially identical. Same bolt pattern (5x105), same lug count (5), same thread pitch (12x1.5), and a 0.1mm difference in hub bore (56.5mm versus 56.6mm) that does not affect wheel selection. The only meaningful aftermarket split is the width window. The Bolt EV accepts aftermarket widths from 7.5 to 8.5 inch in our measured catalog. The Bolt EUV accepts a slightly different range, 6.5 to 8 inch, reflecting the crossover's specific suspension and fender geometry at certain offsets.

Both Bolt body styles run a square fitment from the factory, with the same wheel width front and rear. The aftermarket sticks to square, which is consistent with how a front wheel drive compact electric is built to drive. Tire rotation between front and rear is part of the maintenance routine on both body styles, and a square setup keeps that simple. Brake size is the same front and rear, which is normal on a compact electric where regenerative braking handles most of the deceleration and the friction brakes are sized for occasional stopping rather than continuous performance work.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Chevrolet Bolt

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Bolt body styles:

  • Bolt EV (2017-2023): 5x105 bolt pattern, 56.5mm hub bore, 12x1.5 thread, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-8.5 inch. Square fitment. Same brake size front and rear.
  • Bolt EUV (2022-2023): 5x105 bolt pattern, 56.6mm hub bore, 12x1.5 thread, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 6.5-8 inch. Square fitment. Same brake size front and rear.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Bolt (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the Bolt wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation, especially because 5x105 wheel selection is narrower than on more common patterns.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Chevrolet Bolt Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the Bolt directly, on the EV hatch and the EUV crossover. For the Bolt that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles (especially the front, where the steering geometry and the battery pack position are closest to the inner barrel), gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (the 56.5mm hub and the lower brake clearance of a compact electric leave less room than a larger ICE crossover), hub bore confirmation at 56.5mm or 56.6mm, and lug seat depth for the 12x1.5 thread. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Chevrolet Bolt Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Chevrolet Bolt?

Every 2017-2023 Bolt EV and 2022-2023 Bolt EUV runs 5x105 with a 5-lug hub. The hub bore is 56.5mm on the Bolt EV and 56.6mm on the Bolt EUV (essentially the same hub). The thread pitch is 12x1.5. This is the same pattern used on older Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic models and on European Opel platforms but is not shared with any other modern Chevrolet SUV or truck.

Do Bolt EV and Bolt EUV use the same wheels?

At the bolt-on level, yes. Both body styles share the 5x105 pattern, 5-lug count, 12x1.5 thread, and essentially the same hub bore (56.5mm on the EV, 56.6mm on the EUV). The aftermarket diameter range is the same (17-20 inch). What differs is the aftermarket width window. The Bolt EV accepts 7.5-8.5 inch widths in our measured catalog. The Bolt EUV accepts 6.5-8 inch, reflecting the crossover's slightly different fender and suspension geometry at certain offsets. A wheel sized for an EV will typically work on an EUV, but a wider EV-spec wheel may not fit the EUV's geometry. We measure each separately.

Why is 5x105 hard to find wheels for?

5x105 is a low-volume bolt pattern in the North American aftermarket. The cars that use it are mostly compact Chevrolets and European Opel platforms, which is a smaller production base than the dominant 5x114.3 or 5x100 patterns. Wheel manufacturers prioritize tooling for higher-volume patterns first, so 5x105 has fewer aftermarket designs available. Element catalogs each Bolt-fit wheel individually and verifies hub bore against the 56.5mm or 56.6mm Bolt hub directly, rather than assuming generic 5x105 wheels will fit.

What is the factory wheel size on a Bolt?

The 2017-2021 Bolt EV ran 17 inch factory wheels. The 2022-2023 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV moved to 17 inch as standard with 17 inch alloy and machined finish options across the trims (LT and Premier). The aftermarket commonly moves the Bolt to 18 inch for a slightly larger look without sacrificing range, or to 19-20 inch for a more aggressive visual. The factory wheel size does not change the bolt pattern or hub bore. Bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec are constant across every factory wheel size on the Bolt.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Bolt?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch diameter on both the Bolt EV and the Bolt EUV. 18 inch is the most common aftermarket upgrade target in our shop data because the increase from the factory 17 inch is meaningful visually without affecting range significantly. Above 19 inch, the Bolt's compact suspension geometry and the tire sidewall reduction can make ride quality noticeably firmer. We recommend a free fitment consultation before going to 20 inch.

Are Chevrolet Bolt wheels staggered?

No. The Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are both front wheel drive compact electrics that run square from the factory and stay square in the aftermarket. Brake size is the same front and rear because regenerative braking handles most of the deceleration. A staggered setup is not appropriate for the Bolt and we do not recommend one.

Will Cruze or Sonic wheels fit a Bolt?

At the bolt pattern level, yes. The Chevrolet Cruze (2011-2019) and Sonic (2012-2020) share the 5x105 bolt pattern with the Bolt. The hub bore can differ slightly between the three (the Cruze and Sonic typically run a 56.6mm bore), so hub centric rings may or may not be needed depending on the specific wheel. The brake clearance and offset windows are different across the three cars even when the bolt pattern matches, so a Cruze or Sonic wheel will bolt to the Bolt hub but may sit deeper or shallower than designed. We measure each platform separately for that reason.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Chevrolet Bolt?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Bolt's factory hub. The Bolt EV is 56.5mm. The Bolt EUV is 56.6mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

Get Chevrolet Bolt Wheels Right the First Time

Pick your body style above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure the Bolt EV and the Bolt EUV separately, verify each 5x105 wheel against the 56.5mm or 56.6mm hub, and confirm the 12x1.5 lug thread before we publish a fitment. The 5x105 catalog is narrower than on more common patterns, so working from a verified-fitment list saves time. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
