Chevrolet C-10 Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Chevrolet C-10 is the half-ton 2WD pickup Chevrolet built across two classic generations: the 1967-1972 Action Line and the 1973-1987 Square Body. The C-10 is one of the most popular truck restoration platforms in the country and customers buy aftermarket wheels for the C-10 mostly for looks. Element Wheels measures two catalog rows on the C-10, both on the stock 5-lug axle at stock height: the Action Line (1967-1972) and the Square Body (1973-1987). Both rows run 5x127 with a 78.1mm hub bore, five lugs, M14x1.5 thread pitch. The catalog tags both rows as optional staggered, so a square setup works and a wider-rear staggered setup is available if you want the deep-dish look that built the C-10 restoration aesthetic. Customers who have swapped the original 5-lug axle for a 1-ton or other donor axle should treat this page as a starting point and contact us, since axle swaps change the bolt pattern.

Find Your Chevrolet C-10 Generation

Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific C-10. Both Action Line and Square Body generations on the stock 5-lug axle share the same 5x127 bolt pattern, 78.1mm hub bore, and aftermarket diameter and width windows. The generation card just routes you to the right leaf page.

The Chevrolet C-10 Bolt Pattern

Every C-10 with the stock 5-lug axle uses 5x127 with a 78.1mm hub bore. The imperial nickname for 5x127 is 5x5 (127mm converts cleanly to 5 inches). Five lugs, M14x1.5 thread pitch, factory lug nuts. The pattern is consistent across both the 1967-1972 Action Line and the 1973-1987 Square Body C-10 on the stock rear axle. 5x127 was a standard GM half-ton and full-size car bolt pattern for decades and is shared at the lug-and-hub level with same-era GMC C1500 light-duty trucks and a long list of classic GM cars. Confirm 5x127 and the 78.1mm hub before you order.

The most important caveat on the C-10 is the axle question. A lot of C-10 restoration and pro-touring builds swap the original 5-lug rear axle for a heavier 1-ton axle to handle more power or to drop the truck to street-truck stance. When that happens, the bolt pattern often changes. 6-lug 6x139.7 and 8-lug 8x165.1 swaps are common depending on the donor axle. If your C-10 has been axle-swapped, this page does not apply. Count the studs on one rear wheel first. 5 studs means the stock C-10 axle and this page applies. 6 studs means a 3/4-ton axle swap. 8 studs means a 1-ton axle swap. When in doubt, contact our team and let us know what axle is under your truck.

Compare across the rest of the Chevrolet lineup at our Chevrolet wheels and rims hub. The C-10 was succeeded by the GMT400-platform C-1500 (1988-1998), a 2WD half-ton that ran 5x127 as well but with a different chassis. See the C-1500 wheels and rims page if that is the truck you have.

Why C-10 Buyers Run Optional Staggered, Wider Rear Fitments

The C-10 restoration aesthetic leans on deep-dish wheels with a wide rear width that fills the bedside fender. The factory C-10 ran 15 inch steel wheels with near-zero offset and a narrow tire. Modern C-10 builds typically run 17 to 22 inch wheels, often staggered, with a wider rear width to get the deep-dish, fender-filling stance. The catalog tags both C-10 rows as optional staggered, meaning a square setup all four corners works and a wider-rear staggered setup is available. Front widths run 5.5 to 9 inch in our measured aftermarket window. Rear widths run 7 to 10.5 inch, which gives you the wider-rear option for the deep-dish look without leaving the measured window. Most customers running staggered C-10 builds pair a narrower 5.5 to 8 inch wheel up front with a 9 to 10.5 inch wheel out back.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Chevrolet C-10

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the C-10 catalog rows (stock 5-lug axle, stock height):

  • C-10 Action Line (1967-1972, stock 5-lug axle, stock height): 5x127 bolt pattern, 78.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 15-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 5.5-9 inch front, 7-10.5 inch rear. Optional staggered. Five-lug, M14x1.5 thread pitch. Standard front and rear brake clearance.
  • C-10 Square Body (1973-1987, stock 5-lug axle, stock height): 5x127 bolt pattern, 78.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 15-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 5.5-9 inch front, 7-10.5 inch rear. Optional staggered. Five-lug, M14x1.5 thread pitch. Standard front and rear brake clearance.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific C-10 (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the C-10 wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation. On lowered, axle-swapped, or otherwise modified C-10 builds, this step is especially worth doing before you order.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Chevrolet C-10 Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the C-10 on the stock 5-lug axle at stock height. For the C-10 that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles, gap between the back of the wheel and the front knuckle and suspension, hub bore confirmation on the 5-lug axle, lug seat depth and stud height, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed at full lock. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the diameter and width windows on this page and what catches the front-knuckle clearance question on wider front wheels. Lowered, axle-swapped, or otherwise modified C-10 builds change the geometry, and on those builds we recommend a free fitment consultation before ordering.

Chevrolet C-10 Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Chevrolet C-10?

Every C-10 with the stock rear axle uses 5x127 (also called 5x5 in imperial) with a 78.1mm hub bore. Five lugs, M14x1.5 thread pitch. That covers both the 1967-1972 Action Line and the 1973-1987 Square Body C-10 on the original 5-lug axle. If your C-10 has been axle-swapped to a 1-ton axle, the pattern changes (6-lug or 8-lug depending on the donor axle), and this page does not apply.

How do I tell which C-10 axle I have?

Count the studs on one rear wheel. 5 studs means the stock C-10 axle and this page applies. 6 studs means a 3/4-ton axle swap (6x139.7). 8 studs means a 1-ton axle swap (8x165.1). A lot of C-10 restoration and pro-touring builds run the original 5-lug front knuckle with a swapped rear axle, so check the rear specifically. If you are not sure, take a photo of the rear hub face with the wheel off and contact our team.

Action Line vs Square Body: does the fitment change?

No. Both the 1967-1972 Action Line and the 1973-1987 Square Body C-10 on the stock 5-lug axle share the same 5x127 bolt pattern, 78.1mm hub bore, M14x1.5 thread pitch, and the same measured aftermarket diameter and width windows. The body geometry differs (the Square Body fenders sit differently than the Action Line fenders), but the fitment math is the same on the stock-axle, stock-height truck.

Are C-10 wheels staggered?

Optional. The factory C-10 ran square (same wheel front and rear). Modern restoration and street-truck builds often run staggered with a wider rear wheel to get the deep-dish, fender-filling stance. Our catalog tags both C-10 rows as optional staggered. A square setup works on the C-10 and a staggered setup with up to a 10.5 inch rear is available in our measured window.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a C-10?

Our measured window on the C-10 (stock 5-lug axle, stock height) tops at 22 inch diameter. Most C-10 restoration builds run 18, 20, or 22 inch. Above 22 inch the tire sidewall thins out enough that ride quality drops and tire selection at the 5x127 pattern thins fast. If you are running a lowered or static-drop C-10 and want a larger diameter, contact our team for a free fitment consultation.

Will C-1500 or GMC C1500 wheels fit my C-10?

At the lug and hub level, yes. The 1988-1998 Chevrolet C-1500 and same-era GMC C1500 2WD trucks share the 5x127 / 78.1mm spec with the stock-axle C-10. Wheels bolt up. The chassis geometry is different though (different knuckles, different ride heights, different fender geometry), so offset windows do not transfer one-to-one between the C-10 and the C-1500. Confirm offset against the C-10 fitment window before crossing.

What is the OEM offset and torque spec on a C-10?

Factory C-10 wheels were 15 inch steel with near-zero offset. Thread pitch is M14x1.5 and factory lug nut torque on the 5-lug C-10 is 90 to 100 ft lbs. Always confirm against your owner manual. Re-torque after 50 to 100 miles when fitting a new wheel. For Element-measured aftermarket offset on your specific build, run the Year/Make/Model search above or contact our team for a free fitment consultation.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Chevrolet C-10?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 78.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
