The Chevrolet Chevelle Bolt Pattern

Every Chevelle from 1964 through 1977 uses 5x120.65 (also called 5x4.75 in imperial because 120.65mm is 4.75 inches) with a 70.3mm hub bore. That is the GM legacy muscle pattern, the same pattern Chevrolet ran on the El Camino, the early Monte Carlo, the classic Camaro, the Nova, and most other rear-drive Chevy and Pontiac performance cars of the era. The SS 396 (1965-1969), SS 396 / SS 454 (1970-1972), and the Malibu and Laguna Type S-3 trims of the Colonnade A-body all share the same bolt pattern. Why Chevelle Builds Run the Muscle-Car Staggered Look

The Chevelle is the muscle-car archetype. The SS 396 and SS 454 trims shipped with a big block sitting over the front axle, a four-speed or Turbo 400, and a posi rear that turned the rear tires into shredders with the right driver. The factory Chevelle ran 14 or 15 inch wheels with a near-zero offset and a square front-rear setup. Modern Chevelle builds, whether they are stock-stance restorations, pro-touring conversions, or full restomods, almost always run a staggered setup with a wider rear that fills the rear arch. The rear axle on a Chevelle has the width to support a 9 inch rear wheel with a moderately deep offset on stock-height suspension.

Many Chevelles we see have been modified from stock. A pro-touring Chevelle on coil-overs or air ride can accept a wider, deeper-offset wheel than the published window. A restomod with a 12-bolt or 9 inch rear axle swap may shift the bolt pattern (some 9 inch swaps run a different stud pattern). How We Confirm Fitment on Chevrolet Chevelle Wheels
