The SSR is built on the GMT360 body-on-frame chassis it shares with the same-era Chevrolet Trailblazer, the GMC Envoy, the Buick Rainier, the Saab 9-7X, and the Isuzu Ascender. The Chevrolet SSR Bolt Pattern

Every 2003-2006 Chevrolet SSR runs 6x127 (also called 6x5.0) with a 78.1mm hub bore. The lug count is 6, the thread pitch is 12x1.5, and the lug type is a standard tapered nut. 6x127 is the GM mid-size body-on-frame truck and SUV pattern of that era, the same pattern used on the Chevrolet Trailblazer (2002-2009), the GMC Envoy (the Trailblazer's GMC twin), the Buick Rainier, the Saab 9-7X, and the Isuzu Ascender. Within the GMT360 family the wheels generally cross at the bolt-on level.

The SSR sits on the same GMT360 body-on-frame chassis it shares with the same-era Chevrolet Trailblazer. They are not the same vehicle (the SSR is a two-seat convertible pickup with a power-folding hardtop, the Trailblazer is a four-door body-on-frame SUV) but the frame, the suspension geometry, the bolt pattern, the hub bore, and the brake hardware family come from the same architecture. The fitment window we measure on a Trailblazer of the same era is a starting point for SSR recommendations, but the SSR's specific stance and the factory staggered wheel setup mean we measure it on its own. The SSR Factory Staggered Setup

The SSR is one of the few production vehicles in the 2000s that came staggered from the factory in the way a performance car would. The factory wheel setup is 19x8 inch on the front and 20x10 inch on the rear, with a 255/45R19 front tire and a 295/40R20 rear tire on most production years. The staggered look is part of the SSR's visual identity. The wider rear tire and the larger rear wheel diameter give the truck a planted, hot-rod stance that complements the retro convertible-pickup styling. The rear wheel drive layout (and the supercharged LS2 V8 in the 2005-2006 trims) made the rear-biased stagger a functional choice for the platform as well.

In the aftermarket, Element Wheels measures SSR fitment with a same-width approach across the front and rear (8 to 10 inch wide on both axles) but with different offset windows front to rear to maintain the SSR's wide stance. Some owners stay with the factory staggered diameter (19 front, 20 rear). Some go to a matched 20 inch setup on both axles. A small number go to 22 inch on all four for the maximum diameter visual. The factory staggered tire spread on the SSR is not something most aftermarket owners replicate exactly, but the rear-biased stance and the wider rear tire selection are common in our shop data.
