Chrysler Town and Country Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Chrysler Town and Country was Chrysler's luxury minivan from 1990 through 2016, with our catalog covering the 1996 through 2016 model years. It was the trim-up sibling of the Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan, sold with a longer feature list, more leather, and more chrome than the Dodge version. Chrysler retired the Town and Country after the 2016 model year and replaced it with the Pacifica in 2017. The hub bore stays at 71.5mm across our entire catalog of Town and Country years, but the bolt pattern changes mid-life: the 1996-2007 generation runs 5x114.3, and the 2008-2016 generation switched to 5x127. That is the most important fact on this page. A wheel built for a 2009 Town and Country will not bolt onto a 2007 Town and Country, and the other direction will not work either. Find your year range below and the wheel and rim recommendations follow.

Find Your Chrysler Town and Country Generation

Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Town and Country. The bolt pattern changed between the 2007 and 2008 model years, so the year matters more than usual on this nameplate.

The Chrysler Town and Country Bolt Pattern

The Town and Country bolt pattern is not uniform across the nameplate. The 1996-2007 Town and Country (NS and RS platforms) uses 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore. The 2008-2016 Town and Country (RT platform) uses 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore. The change happened with the 2008 redesign that moved the minivan to the new RT chassis shared with the Dodge Grand Caravan of that era. 5x114.3 has the imperial nickname 5x4.5 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches), and 5x127 has the imperial nickname 5x5 (127mm = 5 inches). The two patterns are NOT interchangeable.

Practical takeaway for the buyer: if a seller offers you a wheel "for the Town and Country" without asking your model year, treat that as a yellow flag. A 5x114.3 wheel will not bolt to a 2008-2016 van and a 5x127 wheel will not bolt to a 1996-2007 van. The two patterns sit about 12.7mm apart. They are not "close enough" to share studs, and forcing one onto the other causes uneven seating and stud damage over time. Confirm your year before ordering. Compare against the rest of the Chrysler lineup at our Chrysler wheels and rims hub.

NS/RS vs RT Platform Fitment

The two generations of the Town and Country sit on different chassis with different bolt patterns and slightly different aftermarket wheel windows. The 1996-2007 NS and RS generations were front wheel drive across the lineup, with a few all wheel drive trims offered in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The 2008-2016 RT generation was front wheel drive only. Neither generation accepts staggered fitment as a recommended setup. Both run square with matching wheel and tire sizes on every corner. On front wheel drive minivans like this, the aftermarket fitment box does not change with drivetrain, so the FWD and AWD versions of the older generation share the same wheel, hub, and width window.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Chrysler Town and Country

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Town and Country lineup:

  • NS/RS Platform (1996-2007): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 15 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 5 to 8.5 inch front and rear. Non-staggered fitment. Lug 12x1.5 nut.
  • RT Platform (2008-2016): 5x127 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16 to 20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7 to 8.5 inch front and rear. Non-staggered fitment. Lug 12x1.5 nut.

How We Confirm Fitment on Chrysler Town and Country Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including both Town and Country generations. For the Town and Country that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation, lug seat depth, and turning clearance on the front. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

The Town and Country is one of the rare nameplates where the bolt pattern itself changed mid-life. The measurement work is what lets us catch and correct customers who think a 2007 wheel will fit a 2009 van or vice versa. We have seen that mistake more than once. The patterns look close on a tape measure and they cause real damage when forced.

Chrysler Town and Country Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Chrysler Town and Country?

It depends on year. The 1996-2007 Town and Country uses 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore. The 2008-2016 Town and Country switched to 5x127 with the same 71.5mm hub bore. The two patterns are NOT interchangeable. 5x114.3 has the imperial nickname 5x4.5 and 5x127 has the imperial nickname 5x5.

Why did the Town and Country bolt pattern change in 2008?

Chrysler redesigned the minivan for the 2008 model year onto the new RT platform. The redesign shifted the bolt pattern from 5x114.3 to 5x127, the larger pattern that became the long-standing Chrysler full-size standard and stayed through the Pacifica that replaced this van in 2017. The hub bore stayed at 71.5mm. The chassis change is also why other fitment details, like the width window and the brake clearance, are different across the two generations.

Will Dodge Grand Caravan wheels fit my Town and Country?

Same year, generally yes. The Town and Country and the Dodge Grand Caravan share the same chassis in every generation, so the bolt pattern and hub bore match year-for-year. A 2010 Grand Caravan wheel (5x127 / 71.5mm CB) bolts to a 2010 Town and Country. A 2005 Caravan wheel (5x114.3 / 71.5mm CB) bolts to a 2005 Town and Country. Confirm offset and brake clearance for your specific trim before ordering.

Will Chrysler Pacifica wheels fit a Town and Country?

2008-2016 Town and Country only. The Pacifica that replaced the Town and Country in 2017 also runs 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore, so the bolt pattern matches the RT-platform Town and Country (2008-2016). Body geometry and brake packages are different between the vans, so confirm the wheel was fit-tested on the Town and Country before ordering. A 1996-2007 Town and Country uses 5x114.3 and the Pacifica wheel will NOT bolt to it.

Are Chrysler Town and Country wheels staggered?

No. The Town and Country runs square with matching wheel and tire sizes on every corner. Both generations are non-staggered. The minivan body and the front wheel drive layout do not benefit from staggered fitment and we do not recommend it.

What size wheels came on the Town and Country from the factory?

Factory wheel sizes on the 1996-2007 generations ran 15 to 17 inch depending on trim and model year. Factory sizes on the 2008-2016 generation ran 16 to 17 inch on most trims, with the upper Touring-L and Limited trims offering 17 inch alloys. Element aftermarket coverage tops at 20 inch across the entire nameplate.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Chrysler Town and Country?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 71.5mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Town and Country?

Two steps. Confirm your year (1996-2007 is 5x114.3, 2008-2016 is 5x127). Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Town and Country (each listing shows its own offset) and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. The bolt pattern is the single most important detail on this nameplate because it changed mid-life.
