Dodge Caravan Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Dodge Caravan is the shorter-wheelbase minivan Chrysler built alongside the long-wheelbase Grand Caravan before consolidating the lineup on the longer platform. Element Wheels has measured fitment data on the 1996-2007 Caravan, which covers the third and fourth generations of the platform. The Caravan was discontinued after 2007 when Chrysler dropped the short-wheelbase variant and continued only with the Grand Caravan on the longer chassis. Element Wheels splits the 1996-2007 Caravan into two fitment families: the 1996-2000 third-generation cars and the 2001-2007 fourth-generation cars. Both run a 5x114.3 bolt pattern (also written as 5x4.5) with a 71.5mm hub bore. Both use M12x1.5 lug nuts on traditional studs. The Caravan runs a square fitment from the factory across the full production range we measure.
Find Your Dodge Caravan Year Range
Pick the year range below to see wheels and rims that fit your Caravan. Bolt pattern (5x114.3), hub bore (71.5mm), and lug spec (M12x1.5) are constant across both year ranges in our catalog. We separate the third-generation 1996-2000 cars from the fourth-generation 2001-2007 cars to keep the wheel well geometry and tire fitment data accurate to each generation, even though the bolt-on hub interface is the same. If you have a 1984-1995 Caravan, we do not currently carry measured fitment data on those years and we recommend a fitment consultation before ordering.
The Dodge Caravan Bolt Pattern and Lug Spec
Every 1996-2007 Dodge Caravan we have measured runs 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore. 5x114.3 is also written as 5x4.5, because 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches. It is the long-standing Chrysler short-wheelbase minivan pattern through 2007. The Caravan uses M12x1.5 lug nuts on traditional studs that pass through the hub. This is the American convention, distinct from the European lug bolt setup, and the studs handle the wheel pre-alignment during mounting before the lug nuts torque the wheel down.
A clarification that comes up often on this platform. 5x114.3 and 5x115 look similar on the math, but they are not the same. 5x114.3 is a 4.5-inch bolt circle (114.3mm). 5x115 is a true metric 115mm circle. The 1mm difference is enough to stress the lug studs over time. Do not assume a wheel marked 5x115 will safely run on a 5x114.3 Caravan or vice versa. Similarly, the 2008 and up Grand Caravan moved to a different bolt pattern entirely (5x127 or 5x5), so wheels do not cross between the 1996-2007 short-wheelbase Caravan and the 2008-2020 Grand Caravan. Compare across the rest of the Dodge lineup at our Dodge wheels and rims hub.
The Caravan vs Grand Caravan, and Why the Wheels Do Not Cross
The Caravan is the shorter-wheelbase variant of the Chrysler minivan family. Through 2007 it shared the showroom with the long-wheelbase Grand Caravan and used the same drivetrain options but on a smaller chassis. The wheel interface on the short-wheelbase 1996-2007 Caravan is 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm bore. The long-wheelbase 2008-2020 Grand Caravan moved to 5x127 with the same 71.5mm bore. The 1mm centerbore is the same, but the bolt circle is different by 12.7mm. A wheel from a 2010 Grand Caravan will not bolt onto a 2005 Caravan and vice versa. This is the most common cross-shopping mistake we see on this platform. The platforms look related but the bolt pattern does not cross.
The Caravan is a front wheel drive family minivan and there are no Track Pack or SRT variants in this lineup. The factory fitment is square (same width front and rear) and the aftermarket sticks to square. Brake sizes are equal front and rear and the brake clearance behind the spokes is rarely the constraint on an aftermarket wheel for this platform. What matters more is load rating. The Caravan is a heavy vehicle for its footprint, and the aftermarket wheels we publish for it carry load ratings that match or exceed the OEM rating. Passenger-car-rated wheels on a Caravan are the mistake to avoid.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Caravan (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Caravan wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation, particularly if you are stepping up from the factory 15 to 16 inch into the 18 to 20 inch aftermarket range where load rating becomes the constraint.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Dodge Caravan Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the Caravan directly, across both the 1996-2000 third-generation and 2001-2007 fourth-generation ranges. For the Caravan that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper clearance, hub bore confirmation at 71.5mm, lug nut seat depth on the M12x1.5 thread, and load rating on the wheel (a Caravan carries more weight than a passenger sedan and the aftermarket wheel needs to be rated for it). At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Dodge Caravan Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Dodge Caravan?
Every 1996-2007 Dodge Caravan we have measured runs 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. 5x114.3 is also written as 5x4.5 (5 lugs on a 4.5-inch bolt circle, since 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches). The bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec are identical across the 1996-2000 third generation and the 2001-2007 fourth generation in our catalog.
Will Dodge Grand Caravan wheels fit a Dodge Caravan?
No. The 1996-2007 short-wheelbase Caravan runs 5x114.3 (5x4.5). The 2008-2020 long-wheelbase Grand Caravan moved to 5x127 (5x5). The centerbore happens to be the same at 71.5mm, but the bolt circle is different by 12.7mm. A Grand Caravan wheel will not bolt onto a Caravan hub and vice versa. This is the most common cross-shopping mistake on this platform.
Will Chrysler Town and Country wheels fit a Caravan?
The 1996-2007 short-wheelbase Chrysler Town and Country shared the same chassis architecture as the Caravan of the same era and runs 5x114.3 with the same 71.5mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nut spec. Wheels designed for one will physically bolt onto the other within that production range. The 2008 and up long-wheelbase Town and Country moved to 5x127 along with the Grand Caravan, so wheels do not cross between the short-wheelbase era (1996-2007) and the long-wheelbase era (2008+).
What about 5x115? Is that the same as the Caravan's 5x114.3?
No. 5x114.3 and 5x115 are different bolt patterns and the wheels do not safely cross. The 5x4.5 inch nickname applies only to 5x114.3 (because 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches). A 5x115 wheel is a true metric 115mm bolt circle and the 1mm difference is enough to stress the lug studs over time. The Caravan is 5x114.3 / 5x4.5. Do not assume a 5x115 wheel will work on it.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Dodge Caravan?
Our measured aftermarket window on the 1996-2007 Caravan tops at 20 inch diameter with widths up to 8 inch. Above the factory 15 to 16 inch, the load rating of the aftermarket wheel becomes the constraint to verify, since the Caravan is a heavy vehicle for its footprint and needs a wheel built to handle the load. We do not recommend stepping outside the published window without a fitment consultation.
Are Dodge Caravan wheels staggered?
No. The Caravan runs square (same width front and rear) from the factory across every year and trim. The aftermarket sticks to square. The Caravan is a front wheel drive family minivan and the staggered front-to-rear ratio of a rear-biased performance car is not part of this platform.
Do you carry fitment data on pre-1996 Caravans?
Our measured Caravan fitment data covers the 1996-2007 third and fourth generations. The first and second generations (1984-1995) are outside our current catalog. If you have an earlier short-wheelbase Caravan, contact our team for a fitment consultation before ordering. We can often work with a customer photo of the hub face and the original factory wheel to confirm the pattern.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Dodge Caravan?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 71.5mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
