The Dodge Journey was Dodge's three-row mid-size crossover from 2009 through 2020, built on a Chrysler minivan-derived JC platform. It carried over the 5x127 bolt pattern and 71.5mm hub bore from the Town and Country and Grand Caravan minivans that came before it, which is unusual for a unibody crossover (most competitor crossovers in this size class run 5x114.3 or 5x108). The Journey ran SE, SXT, Crossroad, R/T, and GT trims across its 12 year production run, with front wheel drive standard and all wheel drive available on select trims. Every Journey we have measured uses 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. Dodge discontinued the Journey after the 2020 model year and the nameplate has not returned in the U.S. market. The Dodge Journey Bolt Pattern and Lug Spec

Every 2009-2020 Dodge Journey uses 5x127 with a 71.5mm hub bore. The 5x127 pattern is the Chrysler minivan family pattern, carried over into the Journey crossover from the Town and Country and Grand Caravan that share the JC platform lineage. It is the same 5x127 pattern that runs on the modern Jeep Wrangler JL and the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2, so the bolt math is shared across a wider Stellantis family than most crossover platforms. The Journey uses M12x1.5 lug nuts on traditional studs. The pattern also goes by 5x5 in some listings (127mm equals 5 inches), so a wheel labeled "5x5" is the same as 5x127 and will fit a Journey.

The detail to watch on this car: 5x127 is the larger of the 5-lug Stellantis crossover patterns. Other Dodge platforms run 5x115 (Charger, Challenger, Durango), 5x114.3 (Avenger sedan, Caliber, Nitro), or 5x110 (Dart, Hornet). The Journey does not cross with any of those. If you are coming from a Charger or a Durango and assume your Dodge wheels will fit your new Journey, the bolt math does not work: the Charger and Durango are on 5x115, the Journey is on 5x127. How Journey Trim and Drivetrain Affect Wheel Choice

The Journey was offered with front wheel drive standard and an all wheel drive option on SXT, Crossroad, and R/T trims through most of the production run. The bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec are identical across SE, SXT, Crossroad, R/T, and GT. Drivetrain is not a fitment box axis on the Journey because the AWD system uses matching wheel and tire sizes on every corner, the same as the front wheel drive variants. A wheel that fits a front wheel drive SE will physically fit an all wheel drive R/T of the same year. The Journey runs square (same width front and rear) from the factory across every trim and drivetrain combination. The aftermarket sticks to square. Run matched wheel and tire sizes on all four corners.

What changed across the production run was the factory wheel package, not the wheel mounting interface. Early Journeys (2009-2010) shipped on 17 to 19 inch factory wheels depending on trim. The mid-cycle refresh (2011) introduced styling updates and pushed the R/T trim to 19 inch factory as standard. Late Journeys (Crossroad, GT) ran 19 inch factory wheels with optional 20 inch packages. Element aftermarket coverage runs 17 to 22 inch, with 19 to 20 inch being the most common aftermarket choice on the platform.

The 5x127 Stellantis Family and Where the Journey Fits

5x127 is the Stellantis large-vehicle bolt pattern. It runs on the Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans, the Jeep Wrangler JK and JL, the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK and WK2, and the Journey crossover. The pattern dates back to the original LH platform Chrysler sedans of the 1990s and survived through the Stellantis era because it gives the larger hub bore and stronger stud spacing needed for higher gross vehicle weights. The Journey inherits the pattern from the Chrysler minivan family that shared its underpinnings.

At the bolt pattern level, Jeep Wrangler JL or Grand Cherokee WK2 wheels will physically thread onto a Journey at the hub. The aftermarket offset window does not cross cleanly because the Wrangler runs a much taller off-road tire and a different fender geometry, and the Grand Cherokee has its own brake clearance specs. Treat cross-Stellantis 5x127 wheel donors as a bolt-on possibility, not a guaranteed visual or clearance match. We measure the Journey separately from those other 5x127 vehicles and the Year/Make/Model search returns only wheels fit-tested on the platform you select.
