Dodge Nitro Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Dodge Nitro is Chrysler's mid-size body on frame SUV, produced from 2007 through 2011. Element Wheels measures fitment across every Nitro model year. The Nitro uses 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts, and 5 lugs. Same spec across every trim (SXT, SLT, R/T, Heat, Detonator, Shock), every drivetrain (rear wheel drive and four wheel drive), and every model year. The Nitro and the second generation Jeep Liberty (KK) were built on the same chassis at the same plant in Toledo, so the Nitro shares its bolt pattern and hub bore with that Liberty. Pick your year below.

Find Your Dodge Nitro Year

Pick your year to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Nitro. The bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec stay the same across every Nitro built (2007-2011), so the year range is mainly for trim and tire spec context. Customers commonly cross-shop the 2008-2010 run because the R/T trim is centered in that window.

The Dodge Nitro Bolt Pattern

Every Dodge Nitro (2007-2011) uses a 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 71.5mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts, and 5 lugs. Nut seat (not bolt seat). Square fitment, same width front and rear. Drivetrain (rear wheel drive or four wheel drive) does not change the bolt math. Trim (SXT through Shock) does not change the bolt math. Model year does not change the bolt math. The Nitro is one of the simpler hubs in the late 2000s Dodge lineup. One spec across the whole lineup.

The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). Same pattern, two naming conventions. The Nitro shares this 5x114.3 / 71.5mm hub family with the second generation Jeep Liberty (the 2008-2012 KK Liberty), the Jeep Wrangler JK (2007-2018), and the Jeep Cherokee XJ from the same era. Important safety note: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. The two patterns are separated by 0.7mm and the studs do not line up cleanly. A wheel built for a 5x115 Dodge Charger / Challenger will not bolt safely to a Nitro. Compare across the rest of the Dodge lineup at our Dodge wheels and rims hub.

Trim Differences Across the Dodge Nitro

The Nitro's trim ladder is straightforward. SXT is the entry trim, factory 16 or 17 inch wheel depending on year. SLT is the mid trim, 17 inch factory standard. R/T is the performance trim, 20 inch factory wheel with the larger brake package. Heat, Detonator, and Shock are appearance trims layered on top of SXT or SLT, with their own factory wheel options (mostly 17 to 20 inch). Every one of these trims uses the same 5x114.3 / 71.5mm hub. The difference between trims is wheel size, finish, and tire spec, not bolt geometry.

The Nitro accepts a wide aftermarket diameter window. Our measured range runs 16 to 24 inch diameter, with widths from 7 to 9.5 inch. 20 inch is the most common aftermarket Nitro choice, matching the R/T factory diameter while letting customers go wider or run a different style. 22 and 24 inch builds exist on the Nitro and clear inside our measured fitment box, although tire selection at the larger diameters narrows quickly.

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Nitro lineup:

  • 2007-2010 Nitro (SXT / SLT / R/T / Heat / Detonator / Shock): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7-9.5 inch front and rear. Square fitment.
  • 2011 Nitro (SXT / Heat): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 71.5mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-24 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7-9.5 inch front and rear. Square fitment.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Nitro (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the Nitro wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Dodge Nitro Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the Nitro directly, across SXT, SLT, R/T, Heat, Detonator, and Shock trims, and across both rear wheel drive and four wheel drive configurations. For the Nitro that means hub bore confirmation at 71.5mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender at ride height and at full droop, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension at full lock, brake caliper height on the R/T's larger front brake assembly, lug seat depth, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull these from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do.

Dodge Nitro Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Dodge Nitro?

Every Dodge Nitro (2007-2011) uses 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts, and 5 lugs. Same pattern across every trim and every model year. 5x114.3 is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial (114.3mm = 4.5 inch). Same pattern, two naming conventions.

What is the hub bore on a Dodge Nitro?

Every Dodge Nitro uses a 71.5mm factory hub bore. The hub bore is the same across SXT, SLT, R/T, Heat, Detonator, and Shock trims and across rear wheel drive and four wheel drive configurations. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

Will Jeep Liberty or Jeep Wrangler JK wheels fit a Nitro?

Bolt pattern lines up. The second generation Jeep Liberty (2008-2012 KK), the Jeep Wrangler JK (2007-2018), and the Dodge Nitro share the 5x114.3 / 71.5mm hub family because they were built on related chassis at the Toledo plant. Offset, width, and fender clearance still need to be confirmed because the Nitro, Liberty, and Wrangler have different fender geometry. Bolt math is the same. The rest needs verification per wheel.

Does the Nitro R/T use a different bolt pattern from the base Nitro?

No. Every Dodge Nitro uses 5x114.3 with a 71.5mm hub bore. The R/T trim has a larger factory wheel (20 inch standard versus 16 to 17 inch on the SXT) and a larger front brake package, but the bolt math is identical. A wheel that fits the bolt geometry of any Nitro will fit the bolt geometry of an R/T. Caliper clearance is what changes on the R/T, not the hub.

Do 2WD and 4WD Nitros use the same wheels?

Yes. 2WD (rear wheel drive) and 4WD Nitros share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, diameter range, width range, and offset window. The drivetrain difference does not change the fitment box on the Nitro. Both setups take the same wheels.

What is the most popular Dodge Nitro wheel size?

20 inch is the most common aftermarket Nitro wheel size. The R/T trim came with a 20 inch factory wheel and customers stay at that diameter to keep tire selection wide and the speedometer close to factory. SXT and SLT customers often step up to 20 inch as well when changing wheels. 22 inch is the next most common step, and 24 inch builds exist on the Nitro but narrow the tire selection.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Dodge Nitro?

24 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the Nitro. Factory sizing ran 16 to 20 inch depending on trim. 20 inch is the most common aftermarket choice. Going larger than 24 inch on a Nitro typically requires changes to suspension or fender clearance and is outside our measured fitment box.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Dodge Nitro?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Nitro's 71.5mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
