Dodge Stratus Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Dodge Stratus nameplate covers two completely different cars produced 1995 through 2006. The Stratus sedan (1995-2000 first gen on the Chrysler JA "cloud car" platform, 2001-2006 second gen on the JR platform) is a mid-size front wheel drive sedan that runs 5x100 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The Stratus Coupe (2001-2006) is a different car entirely. The Stratus Coupe was a Mitsubishi-built rebadge of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, assembled at Diamond-Star Motors in Normal, Illinois. Same factory, same body, same drivetrain as the Eclipse of that era. It runs 5x114.3 with a 57.1mm hub bore, not 5x100. Two body styles, two completely different bolt patterns under one nameplate. Pick the right variant below or the wheel will not bolt to the car.

Find Your Dodge Stratus Variant

Pick your variant to see wheels and rims that fit. The first split is body style. Sedan and coupe are on different platforms with different bolt patterns. The second split, within the sedan family, is generation: 1995-2000 first gen and 2001-2006 second gen. Both sedan generations share the 5x100 pattern. The 2001-2006 Coupe is on its own pattern.

The Dodge Stratus Bolt Pattern

The Stratus runs two completely different bolt patterns depending on body style. The Stratus sedan (1995-2000 first gen on the JA platform, 2001-2006 second gen on the JR platform) uses 5x100 with a 57.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug nuts, and 5 lugs. The Stratus Coupe (2001-2006), which is a Mitsubishi-built rebadge of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, uses 5x114.3 with the same M12x1.5 lug spec but a different bolt circle entirely. Counting lugs is not enough to tell sedan from coupe because both have 5 lugs. The body style is the tell. A four door Stratus is a 5x100 sedan. A two door Stratus is a 5x114.3 coupe.

Important safety note: 5x100 and 5x114.3 are not interchangeable. The bolt circles are 14.3mm apart. A wheel built for the Stratus sedan will not bolt to the Stratus Coupe, and vice versa. 5x114.3 is also written as 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). And neither pattern is the same as 5x115 (the Charger / Challenger / 300 pattern), which is separated by 0.7mm from 5x114.3 and does not line up cleanly. The Stratus sedan's 5x100 pattern shares its bolt math with the Dodge Neon and Chrysler PT Cruiser. The Stratus Coupe's 5x114.3 pattern shares its bolt math with the Mitsubishi Eclipse, the Chrysler Sebring coupe, and the early Dodge Avenger coupe. Compare across the rest of the Dodge lineup at our Dodge wheels and rims hub.

Sedan vs Coupe and Generation Differences

The 1st gen Stratus sedan (1995-2000) was part of the Chrysler "cloud car" lineup alongside the Chrysler Cirrus and Plymouth Breeze. Mid-size four door, front wheel drive, 2.0L four cylinder or 2.4L four cylinder, with a 2.5L V6 option later in the run. Factory wheel sized 14 to 16 inch. 5x100 / 57.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lugs.

The 2nd gen Stratus sedan (2001-2006) ran on the Chrysler JR platform, shared with the Chrysler Sebring sedan and Chrysler Sebring convertible of the same era. Same 5x100 / 57.1mm hub family as the first gen. Factory wheel sized 16 inch standard with 17 inch on R/T and other sport trims.

The Stratus Coupe (2001-2006) is the variant that catches people out. Chrysler used the Stratus name on a Mitsubishi-built two door coupe that has nothing in common with the Stratus sedan beyond the badge. The Stratus Coupe was assembled at Diamond-Star Motors in Normal, Illinois on the Mitsubishi PS41 platform, identical under the skin to the contemporary Mitsubishi Eclipse and the Chrysler Sebring coupe of the same era. Wider track, different fender geometry, different brake package, and the 5x114.3 / 57.1mm hub family of those Mitsubishi-built cars. Stratus sedan wheels will not fit a Stratus Coupe.

  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Dodge Stratus Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the Stratus directly, across the first gen sedan, the second gen sedan, and the Mitsubishi-built Stratus Coupe. For the Stratus that means hub bore confirmation at 57.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender (different on the Coupe because of its wider track), gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension at full lock, brake caliper height, lug seat depth, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull these from manufacturer spec sheets the way most retailers do.

Dodge Stratus Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Dodge Stratus?

It depends on body style. The Stratus sedan (1995-2000 first gen and 2001-2006 second gen) uses 5x100 with a 57.1mm hub bore. The Stratus Coupe (2001-2006), which is a Mitsubishi-built rebadge of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, uses 5x114.3 with a 57.1mm hub bore. Two completely different bolt patterns under one nameplate. The four door Stratus is 5x100, the two door Stratus Coupe is 5x114.3.

Is the Stratus Coupe really a Mitsubishi Eclipse?

Under the skin, yes. The Stratus Coupe was assembled at Diamond-Star Motors in Normal, Illinois on the Mitsubishi PS41 platform, the same chassis and powertrain as the Mitsubishi Eclipse of the same era and the Chrysler Sebring coupe. Different sheet metal, different badge, same underbody. That is why the Stratus Coupe shares the 5x114.3 bolt pattern of the Eclipse and Sebring coupe, not the 5x100 pattern of the Stratus sedan.

Can I put Stratus sedan wheels on a Stratus Coupe?

No. The sedan is 5x100 and the coupe is 5x114.3. The bolt circles are 14.3mm apart and the studs do not line up. A wheel built for the Stratus sedan will not bolt safely to a Stratus Coupe, and a wheel built for a Stratus Coupe will not bolt to a Stratus sedan. They are different cars sold under the same nameplate.

What is the hub bore on a Dodge Stratus?

Our measured hub bore across both Stratus sedan generations and the Stratus Coupe is 57.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order. If you're cross-referencing the Stratus Coupe against an Eclipse-spec aftermarket wheel built for a larger hub, mention the Coupe when you contact us and our team will confirm the centering setup before the order ships.

Will Chrysler Sebring or Plymouth Breeze wheels fit a Stratus?

Bolt pattern lines up on the sedans. The Chrysler Cirrus (1995-2000) and Plymouth Breeze (1995-2000) are first gen "cloud car" twins of the Stratus sedan, both on 5x100 / 57.1mm. The Chrysler Sebring sedan (2001-2006) and Sebring convertible (2001-2006) are JR platform twins of the second gen Stratus sedan, also 5x100 / 57.1mm. Their bolt math matches the Stratus sedan. The Chrysler Sebring coupe (2001-2005) is 5x114.3 and matches the Stratus Coupe, not the Stratus sedan. Offset and width still need to be confirmed per wheel.

Will Mitsubishi Eclipse wheels fit a Stratus Coupe?

Bolt pattern lines up. The Stratus Coupe and the 3rd gen Mitsubishi Eclipse (2000-2005) were built on the same Mitsubishi PS41 platform at the same plant, both on 5x114.3 / 5 lug / M12x1.5. Offset and width still need to be confirmed per wheel because trim packages varied. The Eclipse GT and GTS variants ran a different factory wheel from the base Eclipse, and the Stratus Coupe lineup ran its own factory wheel set on top of that. The bolt circle matches. The rest needs verification.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Dodge Stratus?

20 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on both the Stratus sedan and the Stratus Coupe. Factory sizing ran 14 to 16 inch on the first gen sedan, 16 to 17 inch on the second gen sedan, and 16 to 17 inch on the Coupe. 18 inch is the most common aftermarket choice. Going larger than 20 inch on a Stratus narrows tire selection quickly and is outside our measured fitment box.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Dodge Stratus?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Stratus's 57.1mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
