Ford Flex Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Ford Flex is Ford's three-row crossover, in production from 2009 through the 2019 model year before Ford discontinued the nameplate alongside the Taurus when the Chicago Assembly Plant retooled. The Flex is the boxy retro-styled wagon that shared the Ford D4 platform with the contemporary Explorer, the Lincoln MKT, and the renamed full-size Taurus from 2010 onward. The 3.5 liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6 was offered on the Flex from the 2010 model year forward, and all-wheel drive was optional across the production run. Every Flex from 2009 through 2019 runs the same single bolt pattern: 5x114.3 with a 63.4mm hub bore. Element Wheels measures fitment on the Flex platform. Find your year range below.
Find Your Ford Flex Year Range
Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific Flex. The bolt pattern is the same 5x114.3 with a 63.4mm hub bore across the entire 2009-2019 run, so the year range is a single fitment family. The EcoBoost twin-turbo variants, all-wheel-drive Flex, and the front-wheel-drive Flex all share the same wheel fitment window.
The Ford Flex Bolt Pattern
The Flex runs 5x114.3 with a 63.4mm hub bore across every year, 2009 through 2019. 5x114.3 carries the 5x4.5 imperial nickname (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches), the same pattern Ford uses on the contemporary Explorer and the 2010-and-newer Taurus that came off the same D4 platform. The 63.4mm hub bore is Ford's metric crossover hub bore and it is shared across the D4 platform family.
The detail that trips buyers. 5x114.3 is a different pattern from 5x115 even though they look similar on paper. 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches exactly; 115mm is roughly 4.53 inches. The two patterns sit 0.7mm apart at the studs, which sounds small but is enough to load the studs unevenly and is not a safe fit. A 5x115 wheel does not bolt onto a Flex. Always confirm the wheel listing reads 5x114.3. The 5x4.5 imperial label is the same pattern as 5x114.3, just a different naming convention. Compare against the rest of the Ford lineup at our Ford wheels and rims hub.
Flex EcoBoost, AWD, and Trim Variants
The Flex lineup runs the naturally aspirated 3.5 liter V6 across the base SE, SEL, and Limited trims, with the 3.5 liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6 added on the Limited (and later the SEL EcoBoost) starting with the 2010 model year. All-wheel drive is optional across the lineup. From a fitment standpoint, the EcoBoost engine, the AWD drivetrain, and the trim levels do not change the wheel fitment window on a Flex. The brake package is matched front to rear (no Brembo-style front-rotor split) and there is no SHO-equivalent Flex variant. The front-wheel-drive Flex, the AWD Flex, the EcoBoost Flex, and the base Flex all share the same 5x114.3 / 63.4mm fitment family and the same Element measured aftermarket window.
The Flex runs square (same width front and rear) on every trim and every drivetrain. The platform is engineered around matched wheel sizes on every corner, and AWD operation expects equal rolling diameter on every wheel. Same wheel spec works front and rear on every Flex.

How We Confirm Fitment on Ford Flex Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the D4-platform Flex across the 2009-2019 run. For the Flex that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension and brake caliper, hub bore confirmation at 63.4mm, lug seat geometry on the M12x1.5 thread, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed at full lock. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
The Flex shares its D4 platform fitment family with the contemporary Explorer, the Lincoln MKT, and the 2010-and-newer Taurus. That overlap helps us cross-reference measured aftermarket data across multiple cars on the same platform, which tightens the Flex fitment window we publish. The EcoBoost and AWD variants do not change the wheel face clearance or the hub bore, so the same window applies.
Ford Flex Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Ford Flex?
5x114.3 with a 63.4mm hub bore across the entire 2009-2019 production run. 5x114.3 is also written 5x4.5 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). Every Flex trim shares the same pattern: base SE, SEL, Limited, EcoBoost, front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive.
Is 5x114.3 the same as 5x115 on a Flex?
No. 5x114.3 and 5x115 are different bolt patterns and the wheels do not interchange. 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches exactly. 115mm is roughly 4.53 inches. The two patterns sit 0.7mm apart at the studs, which is enough to load the studs unevenly and is not a safe fit. The Flex is 5x114.3 only. If your wheel listing reads 5x115, it does not fit a Flex.
What is the hub bore on a Ford Flex?
63.4mm on every Flex, 2009 through 2019. That is the Ford D4 platform hub bore shared with the contemporary Explorer, the Lincoln MKT, and the 2010-and-newer Taurus. If the aftermarket wheel is built around a larger bore, a hub centric ring brings the wheel down to the 63.4mm Flex hub.
Does the Flex EcoBoost or AWD change the wheel I can buy?
No. The 3.5 liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 is the same engine in a different state of tune. It does not change the brake package, the hub bore, or the wheel face clearance. The all-wheel-drive Flex shares the same bolt pattern, the same hub bore, and the same offset window as the front-wheel-drive Flex. Same wheel spec works on the base FWD Flex SE and the AWD Flex Limited EcoBoost.
Are Ford Flex wheels staggered?
No. Every Flex runs square (same width front and rear) on every trim and every drivetrain across the 2009-2019 run. The chassis is engineered around matched wheel sizes on every corner, which keeps front-to-rear tire rotation part of normal maintenance and keeps AWD operation correct (AWD systems expect equal rolling diameter on every wheel). There is no factory staggered Flex.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Ford Flex?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch diameter on a Flex. 20 inch is the most common aftermarket choice. The factory Limited and EcoBoost trims ran 20 inch wheels from the dealer, and 22 inch is the typical step up for a custom build. Above 22 inch the tire becomes difficult to source in the correct load rating for a three-row crossover and the ride suffers on the sidewall the tire can support.
Will Ford Explorer wheels fit my Flex?
The contemporary 5th gen Explorer (2011-2019) shared the Ford D4 platform with the Flex and runs the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern with the 63.4mm hub bore. Bolt pattern and hub bore match. Offset and width need to be confirmed against the Flex measured window before installing, since Explorer wheels were sometimes built with offsets tuned for the slightly different suspension geometry. Use our Year/Make/Model search to confirm the listing fits a Flex specifically before ordering.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Ford Flex?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 63.4mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Get Ford Flex Wheels Right the First Time
Pick your year above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure on the Flex platform across the 2009-2019 run and treat the base, EcoBoost, FWD, and AWD variants as one fitment family. The Flex was discontinued in North America after the 2019 model year when Ford retooled the Chicago Assembly Plant, but the used Flex community is active and the aftermarket window stays open. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
