The Focus has run two lug-count eras across its US lifespan. The 2000 through 2011 cars (1st and 2nd gen) used a 4-lug 4x108 pattern with a 63.36mm hub bore on the early cars and 63.4mm on the later 2nd gen. The 2012 through 2018 3rd gen Focus moved to the 5-lug 5x108 pattern with the 63.4mm hub bore, the same Ford metric pattern used on the modern Escape and the C-platform Ford cars. The Ford Focus Bolt Pattern Changes Between Generations

The Focus has one bolt pattern transition in its 2000-2018 US run: the 4-lug to 5-lug move that happened with the 2012 model year. The 1st gen (2000-2007) and 2nd gen (2008-2011) use 4-lug 4x108, with a 63.36mm hub bore on the 1st gen and 63.4mm on the 2nd gen. The 3rd gen (2012-2018) uses 5-lug 5x108 with the 63.4mm hub bore. The two pattern eras do not interchange. M12x1.5 lug thread is constant across every Focus.

The detail that trips buyers. 5x108 is Ford's metric bolt pattern (also written 5x4.25 because 108mm equals roughly 4.25 inches). It is NOT the same as 5x114.3, which carries the 5x4.5 nickname and lives on most modern Hyundai-Kia and Japanese sedans. The two patterns sit 6.3mm apart at the studs and the wheels do not cross. A 5x114.3 wheel will not bolt to a 3rd gen Focus. Same goes for the 4-lug side: 4x108 is its own pattern, separate from 4x100 (the very common JDM compact pattern on cars like the Honda Civic and Mazda Miata) and from 4x114.3 (older Sentras and Altimas). When shopping, confirm the wheel listing says 4x108 for the 1st and 2nd gen Focus, or 5x108 for the 3rd gen Focus, specifically.

5x108 is the same Ford metric pattern used on the modern Escape, the Bronco Sport, the Maverick (Ford C2 platform), and the discontinued Fusion 2nd gen. A wheel built for a Maverick will bolt to a 3rd gen Focus in pattern and hub centering, although the offset window and brake clearance differ between the two vehicles. The Focus ST, RS, and SVT Performance Variants

The Focus performance lineage runs across all three generations. The Focus SVT (2003-2004) on the 1st gen used a higher-output 2.0L Zetec engine and aggressive trim, while keeping the standard 1st gen 4x108 / 4-lug fitment. The 3rd gen produced the Focus ST (2013-2018), a 252 horsepower turbocharged hot hatch with sport suspension. In our catalog the ST shares the same wheel fitment window as the standard 3rd gen Focus, with no separate brake-clearance flag. The Focus RS (2016-2018) is the all wheel drive, 350 horsepower flagship variant, and the catalog confirms it as the only Focus variant with a flagged larger front brake package. The RS carries Brembo front brakes from the factory, and the inner-barrel clearance behind the wheel face is tighter than on the ST or the base 3rd gen. Wheel face clearance is the variable that matters most on a Focus RS.

Bolt pattern (5x108) and hub bore (63.4mm) are identical across the 3rd gen lineup, so any wheel that fits a base 3rd gen Focus will bolt to an ST or an RS. The clearance check on the RS specifically is the front Brembo caliper. Above 19 inch the RS clears most aftermarket designs. The factory RS wheel is 19x8 with a Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Most RS aftermarket builds stay at 19 inch or step up to 20 inch.
