The Honda S2000 Bolt Pattern

Every Honda S2000 (2000-2009 production, 2001-2009 in our measured catalog) runs a 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 70.1mm hub bore. The imperial nickname for this pattern is 5x4.5 because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches exactly. The lug count is 5 and the thread pitch is M12x1.5. The pattern does not change between the AP1 and AP2 generations, and it does not change for the CR trim. 5x114.3 is the Honda performance car standard of the era and matches other period Honda hardware, including the contemporary Acura RSX Type S and the second-generation NSX bolt math.

One detail worth flagging because we see it confuse buyers. 5x114.3 is NOT the same pattern as 5x115. The two sit roughly 0.7mm apart on the hub circle and a wheel built for one will not properly seat on the other. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers to 5x114.3 only. The 5x115 pattern used on some American sedans (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Challenger, Cadillac CTS, and others) is a different bolt pattern and those wheels will not fit your S2000. Why Generation and the CR Brake Matter

The AP1 (2000-2003) and AP2 (2004-2009) share the same chassis, the same bolt pattern, the same hub bore, and effectively the same aftermarket diameter and width windows. Honda made the AP2 changes mostly on the powertrain and suspension calibration side (the F20C 2.0L became the F22C1 2.2L, and the AP2 picked up revised suspension and stability control). The wheel fitment box did not change in our measured catalog. The S2000 CR (Club Racer) was a 2008-2009 track-focused AP2 trim. The CR carries larger front brake hardware than the standard AP2, which is the variable to confirm at fitment because the CR caliper face sits closer to the back of the wheel. Front larger than rear is the normal configuration on a performance roadster, so the CR brake size is expected, not a quirk.

The S2000 ships staggered from the factory across every trim. Front width is narrower than rear, which matches the rear-drive sports car character and puts more contact patch on the driven axle. Aftermarket S2000 builds typically stay staggered. The published front and rear width windows reflect that. A square (same width front and rear) build is also reasonable on the AP1 and AP2 if you want to rotate tires across all four corners for longer tire life. The CR trim is best left staggered to match the factory setup.
