The Equus sat above the Genesis Sedan in the Hyundai luxury hierarchy and was Hyundai's flagship before the launch of the standalone Genesis sub-brand. The Equus was powered by the 5.0L Tau V8 (and the 4.6L Tau V8 on early trims), carrying the largest brake package Hyundai used on a sedan of the era. Every Equus runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore, an M12x1.5 thread, and 5 lugs. The catalog supports optional staggered factory fitment. The Equus is now a closed historical range. Hyundai renamed the Equus to Hyundai Genesis G90 for the 2017 model year (still on the same VI platform), then spun off the Genesis luxury sub-brand into a standalone marque, and the current G90 is now a Genesis-branded car on the newer RS3 platform.

The Hyundai Equus Bolt Pattern

Every 2011-2016 Hyundai Equus runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore. The imperial nickname for this pattern is 5x4.5 because 114.3mm equals exactly 4.5 inches. The lug count is 5, the thread pitch is M12x1.5, and the recommended factory torque is in the same range as the rest of the Hyundai Motor Group rear-drive sedans of the era (always confirm against your owner manual for your exact year). The bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec stayed constant across every Equus model year, and Hyundai carried the same spec into the 2017-2019 Hyundai Genesis G90 (the renamed Equus VI). The current standalone Genesis G90 (2020 and up, RS3 platform) is a different car under a different brand.

One detail worth flagging up top. 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart on the hub circle and a wheel built for one will not properly seat on the other. The Equus is 5x114.3 only. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers to 5x114.3 specifically (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). The 5x115 pattern lives on some American luxury sedans like the Cadillac CTS and the Chrysler 300, and those wheels will not fit your Equus. Why the Equus Runs a Tighter Aftermarket Fitment Window Than the Genesis Sedan

The Equus and the Hyundai-branded Genesis Sedan (2009-2016) are related but distinct cars. The Equus was Hyundai's full-size flagship sedan and shipped with the 4.6L and later 5.0L Tau V8 powertrains across every trim. The catalog marks the Equus with the large flagship brake package, which is the largest brake category in our Hyundai catalog. Front larger than rear is the normal configuration on a full-size luxury sedan of the Equus class. The front axle does the bulk of the braking work on a heavy four-door, and Hyundai scaled the front caliper accordingly. The practical consequence for aftermarket wheels is that the smallest aftermarket diameter that clears the Equus front caliper is 19 inch. That is two inches above the floor on a base 3.8L V6 Genesis Sedan. The bolt pattern is the same. The brake clearance window is what tightens.

The Equus also supports optional staggered factory fitment. The factory configuration on most Equus trims is square, but the catalog supports running a wider rear if you want the deeper rear face look on the long flagship body. Both the rear wheel drive and (where equipped) all wheel drive Equus share the same wheel fitment box. Drivetrain does not change the recommendation on the Equus. The variable that changes is the wheel diameter and width to clear the large front brake.
