The Q40 (2014-2015) is the renamed G37 Sedan, a compact luxury sedan on the V36 chassis carried forward for two final model years under the new Q-and-QX naming convention. The Q45 (1999-2006 in our active catalog) is the Infiniti flagship full-size sedan, related to the Nissan Cima in Japan, covering the F50 era and the Y34 third generation that ended Q45 production after the 2006 model year. The Q40 and Q45 Bolt Pattern and Why Two Different Cars Share This Hub

Every Infiniti Q40 and Q45 we catalog runs the 5x114.3 bolt pattern, also called 5x4.5 imperial (114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly), with a 66.1mm factory hub bore. The pattern is consistent across both nameplates and is the long-running Nissan and Infiniti rear-drive luxury standard. A wheel built for one car will bolt onto the other at the lug-hole level. What is different is everything else: the Q40 is a compact luxury sport sedan and the Q45 is a full-size flagship sedan. The fender profile, the track width, and the brake clearance are not the same. We measure both platforms separately even though the bolt math matches.

A cross-pattern caution that applies to every 5x114.3 platform: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as the 5x115 pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX, and similar American sedans. The two patterns sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable, even though the difference sounds tiny. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers only to 5x114.3 (because 114.3mm = 4.5 inches exactly). Calling 5x115 "5x4.5" is wrong and forcing a 5x115 wheel onto a 5x114.3 hub puts the stud loading off-center, which is a safety issue. Stick to wheels listed for 5x114.3 specifically.

The Q40 (2014-2015) is the renamed G37 Sedan. Infiniti changed its naming convention for the 2014 model year, moving from the alphanumeric format (G37, M37, FX35, EX35) to the Q-and-QX scheme. The 2014-2015 Q40 is the V36 chassis carried forward under the new badge, on the same platform as the 2008-2013 G37 Sedan. The Q40 was only sold for two model years (2014 and 2015) while the all-new Q50 launched alongside it. The Q40 was dropped after 2015 and the Q50 carried the compact luxury sedan lineup forward.

The Q45 is Infiniti's discontinued full-size flagship sedan. The catalog covers the F50 refresh (1999-2001) and the Y34 third-generation Q45 (2002-2006), which is the rebadged Nissan Cima sold in the US under Infiniti. Infiniti ended Q45 production after the 2006 model year and never replaced it directly. The full-size flagship slot moved to the Infiniti M series and later to the Q70. Why the Q40 and Q45 Need Their Own Measured Fitment Windows

The Q40 is a compact luxury sport sedan based on the V36 chassis. It is the renamed G37 Sedan and inherits the same RWD platform. Like the G37 Sedan and the Q50 RWD that replaced it, the Q40 supports an optional staggered fitment, where a wider rear wheel sits behind a slightly narrower front. That is a looks decision more than a performance one and it works on this platform because the rear track has the room. The Q40 was only built for two model years, so used examples are the only way to find one. We measure on the V36 chassis directly.

The Q45 is a different beast. It is a full-size luxury flagship sedan with a longer wheelbase and a wider track than the compact Q40. The F50 and Y34 generations covered in our catalog (1999-2006) run a square setup with the same wheel width and offset front and rear. The fender clearance, the brake caliper height, and the suspension geometry are all measured separately from the compact Q-line. Q45 buyers tend to keep the car close to factory diameter, in the 17 to 19 inch range, where the ride quality the car was designed for stays intact.
