The X300 and X308 cars (1991-2003) carry the older Jaguar bolt pattern. The X350 and X358 cars (2004-2009) introduced the modern Jaguar pattern that still runs across the lineup today. The X351 cars (2010-2019) extended that platform through the long-wheelbase XJL, the Supercharged trims, and the XJ-R top trim. Across the production run, our catalog locks two distinct fitment families. The 1991-2003 XJ uses a 5x120.7 bolt pattern (also called 5x4.75 inch, because 120.7mm equals 4.75 inch) with a 73.9mm hub bore. From the 2004 model year forward, every XJ uses a 5x108 bolt pattern (also called 5x4.25 inch, because 108mm equals 4.25 inch) with a 63.4mm hub bore. The 5x108 pattern on the 2004-and-up cars is the standard Jaguar and Land Rover spec of this era and is shared with the Jaguar XE, XF, XK, F-Type, F-Pace, E-Pace, and the Range Rover Evoque, Velar, and Discovery Sport. The Jaguar XJ Bolt Pattern

The XJ runs two distinct bolt patterns across its production. The 1991-2003 X300 and X308 cars use a 5x120.7 bolt pattern (also called 5x4.75 inch, because 120.7mm equals 4.75 inch) with a 73.9mm hub bore. This is the older Jaguar pattern that Jaguar carried over from the late XJ40 era and through the X300 and X308 chassis. From the 2004 model year forward, every XJ switches to a 5x108 bolt pattern (also called 5x4.25 inch, because 108mm equals 4.25 inch) with a 63.4mm hub bore. The 5x108 pattern is the standard Jaguar and Land Rover spec of this era and runs across the modern Jaguar lineup including the XE, XF, XK, F-Type, F-Pace, E-Pace, and the Range Rover Evoque, Velar, and Discovery Sport.

The two patterns do not interchange. A wheel built for a 1995 XJ on 5x120.7 will not bolt to a 2005 XJ. Lug count is five on both patterns, but the stud spacing is different and the hub bore is different (73.9mm on the older car, 63.4mm on the 2004-and-up car). When you cross-shop wheels on a modern XJ against an XF or an F-Type, the 5x108 bolt math matches, but the offset window and brake clearance window are different car by car. We measure XJ fitments separately even when the pattern matches another platform.

The factory wheel hardware on every XJ is M12x1.5 lug bolts, threading directly into the hub. That is the standard European convention on Jaguar sedans and sports cars of this era and is different from the M14x1.5 hardware used on Jaguar SUVs like the F-Pace and E-Pace. Bolt seat depth and thread length need to be confirmed for each aftermarket wheel because the bolt has to clear the seat depth on the wheel and reach the correct thread engagement in the hub. We measure that directly.

How Trim and Generation Change the XJ Fitment Window

The XJ trim families fit in three distinct boxes. The 1991-2003 X300 and X308 cars run square on the older 5x120.7 pattern, with a smaller diameter window of 16 to 20 inch and a 7 to 9 inch width range. The X350 and X358 cars (2004-2009) run square on the modern 5x108 pattern across an 18 to 21 inch diameter window with an 8 to 9 inch width. The X351 cars (2010-2019) extended the diameter window up to 22 inch and added optional staggered fitment with a wider rear wheel (9 to 10.5 inch at the rear against 8 to 9 inch at the front).

The Supercharged trim line and the XJ-R top trim sit inside a tighter window. On the X350/X358 cars, the XJ-R Supercharged adds a bigger Brembo front caliper while the rear stays standard. On the X351 cars, both the Supercharged and the XJ-R run a bigger Brembo front and a step-up rear caliper. The bigger front caliper needs more inner barrel clearance behind the front wheel face, so the offset window on the Supercharged and XJ-R trims is narrower than on the base car. The front brake larger than the rear is normal on a performance luxury sedan and is not a sign of an unusual setup.
