Jeep is one of the most active aftermarket platforms in our customer base, anchored by the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, and Cherokee. The Compass, Renegade, Patriot, Liberty, Commander, and the recent Grand Wagoneer flagship all come through the shop. Jeep fitment splits cleanly by chassis. The body-on-frame off-road platforms (Wrangler, Gladiator) and the larger SUVs (Grand Cherokee, Cherokee from 1984 to 2001, Commander) use a 5x127 bolt pattern, also called 5x5. The unibody small SUVs (Compass, Patriot, Renegade, Liberty, modern Cherokee KL 2014-2023) use a 5x114.3 pattern. A wheel that fits your Wrangler will not fit your Compass even though they share a parking spot. Jeep splits along the body-on-frame versus unibody line. The off-road and full-size platforms use 5x127. The unibody crossovers use 5x114.3.

The takeaway is that Wrangler and Grand Cherokee wheels cross-fit on the 5x127 pattern, but the brake and offset windows differ. Compass and Patriot wheels are a different family entirely. The new Grand Wagoneer is yet another family. Always confirm year and model before assuming wheels carry over.

Wrangler and Grand Cherokee Wheel Fitment

The Wrangler is one of the highest volume Jeep aftermarket platforms and the model where customers most often go after aggressive fitment. The JK (2007-2018) and JL (2018 and newer) Wranglers ship with 5 lug 5x127 patterns and stock offsets typically in the +44mm to +50mm range. Most aftermarket Wrangler builds drop to +0mm, -12mm, or even -25mm for the "deep dish" off-road look with a wider tire. The wider the wheel and the more negative the offset, the more body and suspension clearance becomes a concern. We measure each Wrangler generation separately because the JK and JL have different fender flare geometry and different turning radius clearance.

The Grand Cherokee runs the same 5x127 bolt pattern as the Wrangler but is a different vehicle in every other way. It has lower stance, larger factory brakes (especially on the SRT and Trackhawk trims), and tighter fender clearance. A wheel that fits a Wrangler at -25mm offset will not look right or clear correctly on a Grand Cherokee. The SRT and Trackhawk run Brembo brakes that require additional clearance most aftermarket wheels for the Wrangler do not provide. How We Confirm Fitment

Element Wheels measures fitment on Jeep models we sell wheels for. For each chassis and brake combination we measure clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and any suspension components, brake caliper height, hub protrusion, lug height, and how much room the front wheel has when turning lock to lock. We do this on the vehicle, not from a spec sheet.

That measurement work covers the most active Jeep platforms across the catalog. Wrangler JK and JL are tracked separately. The Gladiator is tracked separately from the Wrangler because the rear track and load specs differ. The Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk are tracked separately from the base trims because the Brembo brakes change the inner clearance. The Cherokee XJ (1984-2001) is tracked separately from the modern KL Cherokee (2014-2023) because they are different platforms with different bolt patterns. Our fitment recommendations come from these direct measurements rather than manufacturer spec sheets.
