Jeep Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
Jeep is one of the most active aftermarket platforms in our customer base, anchored by the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, and Cherokee. The Compass, Renegade, Patriot, Liberty, Commander, and the recent Grand Wagoneer flagship all come through the shop. Jeep fitment splits cleanly by chassis. The body-on-frame off-road platforms (Wrangler, Gladiator) and the larger SUVs (Grand Cherokee, Cherokee from 1984 to 2001, Commander) use a 5x127 bolt pattern, also called 5x5. The unibody small SUVs (Compass, Patriot, Renegade, Liberty, modern Cherokee KL 2014-2023) use a 5x114.3 pattern. A wheel that fits your Wrangler will not fit your Compass even though they share a parking spot. Element Wheels has measured fitment across the majority of Jeep platforms in our 10-model catalog so the wheels we show you have been validated for your exact chassis and brake setup. Pick your Jeep model below and you can rest assured the wheels and rims will fit the way you want every time.
Find your Jeep Model
Pick your Jeep model to see wheels and rims that fit. The Wrangler and Gladiator share the body-on-frame 5x127 fitment family. The Grand Cherokee runs its own 5x127 setup with different brake clearance. The Compass, Patriot, Renegade, and modern Cherokee are unibody crossovers with 5x114.3 fitment.

The Jeep Bolt Pattern Landscape
Jeep splits along the body-on-frame versus unibody line. The off-road and full-size platforms use 5x127. The unibody crossovers use 5x114.3.
Jeep bolt patterns at a glance
Wrangler (TJ 1997-2006, JK 2007-2018, JL 2018 and newer) and Gladiator (2020 and newer): 5x127 (also called 5x5). The off-road Jeep pattern. Wrangler YJ (1987-1995) used 5x114.3 instead, so older Wranglers do not cross with newer Wranglers.
Grand Cherokee (all generations since 1999) and Cherokee XJ (1984-2001): 5x127. The same pattern as the Wrangler but with different brake clearance and offset windows.
Modern Cherokee KL (2014-2023): 5x110 (FCA crossover pattern, shared with Dodge Dart). Different from the older Cherokee XJ.
Compass, Patriot, Renegade, Liberty: 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5). The unibody crossover pattern. None of these wheels fit a Wrangler or Grand Cherokee.
Grand Wagoneer (2022 and newer): 6x139.7. The full-size body-on-frame flagship runs the Ram 1500 light truck pattern, not the Wrangler 5x127.
The takeaway is that Wrangler and Grand Cherokee wheels cross-fit on the 5x127 pattern, but the brake and offset windows differ. Compass and Patriot wheels are a different family entirely. The new Grand Wagoneer is yet another family. Always confirm year and model before assuming wheels carry over.
Wrangler and Grand Cherokee Wheel Fitment
The Wrangler is one of the highest volume Jeep aftermarket platforms and the model where customers most often go after aggressive fitment. The JK (2007-2018) and JL (2018 and newer) Wranglers ship with 5 lug 5x127 patterns and stock offsets typically in the +44mm to +50mm range. Most aftermarket Wrangler builds drop to +0mm, -12mm, or even -25mm for the "deep dish" off-road look with a wider tire. The wider the wheel and the more negative the offset, the more body and suspension clearance becomes a concern. We measure each Wrangler generation separately because the JK and JL have different fender flare geometry and different turning radius clearance.
The Grand Cherokee runs the same 5x127 bolt pattern as the Wrangler but is a different vehicle in every other way. It has lower stance, larger factory brakes (especially on the SRT and Trackhawk trims), and tighter fender clearance. A wheel that fits a Wrangler at -25mm offset will not look right or clear correctly on a Grand Cherokee. The SRT and Trackhawk run Brembo brakes that require additional clearance most aftermarket wheels for the Wrangler do not provide. Our Grand Cherokee model page separates the base, Limited, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk fitment windows.
How Element handles Jeep fitment
The Wrangler model page separates the JK from the JL because the platform width, fender geometry, and brake setups differ. The Gladiator shares the JL chassis but has different rear track width and load constraints. The Grand Cherokee separates fitment by trim because the SRT and Trackhawk Brembos demand clearance the base Grand Cherokee does not. The wheels we recommend on each Jeep page have been measured against the exact platform and brake combination on the customer's vehicle.
On every Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator platform we separate stock height fitment from lifted, and we go deeper. The Wrangler JK splits across multiple lift-and-tire combinations (2-3 inch lift with 33 inch tires, 2-3 inch lift with 35 inch tires, 3.5-4 inch lift with 35 inch tires, 3.5-4 inch lift with 37 inch tires). The Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT each split between Rubicon and non-Rubicon trims, with stock and lifted fitments tracked for each. When you pick a Jeep on the site, the fitment recommendations are anchored to your exact stock height, lift, tire size, and Rubicon-vs-non-Rubicon configuration.
How We Confirm Fitment
Element Wheels measures fitment on Jeep models we sell wheels for. For each chassis and brake combination we measure clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and any suspension components, brake caliper height, hub protrusion, lug height, and how much room the front wheel has when turning lock to lock. We do this on the vehicle, not from a spec sheet.
That measurement work covers the most active Jeep platforms across the catalog. Wrangler JK and JL are tracked separately. The Gladiator is tracked separately from the Wrangler because the rear track and load specs differ. The Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk are tracked separately from the base trims because the Brembo brakes change the inner clearance. The Cherokee XJ (1984-2001) is tracked separately from the modern KL Cherokee (2014-2023) because they are different platforms with different bolt patterns. Our fitment recommendations come from these direct measurements rather than manufacturer spec sheets.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Jeep Wheel and Rim FAQ
What is the most popular Jeep aftermarket platform?
The Wrangler is one of the highest volume Jeep aftermarket platforms, followed by the Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, and Cherokee. The Compass, Renegade, and Patriot are active in mid-volume. The Grand Wagoneer flagship is growing as the platform matures.
What is the Jeep bolt pattern?
It depends on the platform. The Wrangler (TJ 1997 and newer), Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, and Cherokee XJ all use 5x127. The Wrangler YJ (1987-1995) used 5x114.3. The modern Cherokee KL (2014-2023) uses 5x110. The Compass, Patriot, Renegade, and Liberty use 5x114.3. The Grand Wagoneer uses 6x139.7.
Will Wrangler wheels fit a Grand Cherokee?
The bolt pattern is shared. Both use 5x127. But the brake and offset windows differ. A Wrangler running -25mm offset will not look right or clear correctly on a Grand Cherokee. The SRT and Trackhawk Grand Cherokees have larger Brembo brakes that demand more clearance than a typical Wrangler wheel allows. Always check offset and brake specs before cross-shopping between the two.
Will Wrangler wheels fit a Compass or Patriot?
No. The Wrangler uses a 5 lug 5x127 bolt pattern. The Compass and Patriot use a 5 lug 5x114.3 pattern. The lug count is the same but the pattern diameter is different. The wheels do not bolt across. These are different chassis families.
What is the most common Wrangler fitment mistake?
Picking too aggressive an offset for the tire width without considering body and suspension clearance at full lock. Wrangler customers go after deep dish look with -25mm or -38mm offsets and wider tires, then the front tires rub the inner fender or the trailing arm when turning. Body clearance and turning radius measurement matter more than the static fender gap on a Wrangler.
How do I find wheels for my specific Jeep?
Pick your Jeep model from the list above. Each model page covers the generations we have measured, with bolt pattern, offset window, and fitment specifics for each year range and trim. If you are not sure which generation or trim you have, our team can identify your exact configuration from your VIN.
