The Kia Sorento has been on sale in the United States since the 2003 model year and the platform has changed in a way that matters for wheel fitment. The 1st gen Sorento BL (2003-2009) was a body-on-frame midsize SUV built on a truck-style ladder chassis with a 5x139.7 bolt pattern and a 95.3mm hub bore. The 2nd gen Sorento XM (2011-2015) was a complete redesign onto a car-based unibody platform with a smaller 5x114.3 bolt pattern and a 67.1mm hub bore. The 3rd gen UM (2016-2020) and the current 4th gen MQ4 (2021 and up) continue on that unibody architecture with the same 5x114.3 / 67.1mm spec. The bolt pattern change at the 2011 redesign is the most important fact on the Sorento hub. A 5x114.3 wheel that fits a modern Sorento will NOT bolt onto a 1st gen Sorento, and a 5x139.7 wheel from a 1st gen Sorento will NOT bolt onto any 2nd gen or newer Sorento. The Sorento Bolt Pattern Change at the 2011 Redesign

Kia engineered the 1st gen Sorento BL (2003-2009) as a body-on-frame SUV with a full ladder chassis, a low-range transfer case, and the same family of truck-style hardware that period mid-size body-on-frame SUVs used. That hardware includes a 5x139.7 bolt pattern (also written as 5x5.5 in imperial, since 139.7mm equals 5.5 inches) with a 95.3mm hub bore. 5x139.7 is the same pattern used on full-size US trucks like the older Dodge Ram 1500, the Jeep Wrangler JK, and the older Mitsubishi Pajero, which is why 1st gen Sorento wheels look visually similar to those vehicles.

For the 2011 model year Kia redesigned the Sorento onto a unibody car-based platform and switched to the 5x114.3 bolt pattern (5x4.5 imperial, since 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches) with a 67.1mm hub bore. That spec is the Hyundai-Kia midsize unibody crossover standard, used on the Hyundai Santa Fe (same-chassis sibling of the unibody Sorento), the Kia Sportage, the Hyundai Tucson, and the Hyundai-Kia midsize family in general. Every Sorento from the 2nd gen XM (2011) onward through the 3rd gen UM and the current 4th gen MQ4 uses 5x114.3 / 67.1mm. The bolt pattern has not changed since 2011 and there is no indication Kia plans to change it. Compare across the rest of the Kia lineup at our Kia wheels and rims hub.

Worth flagging because we see it confuse buyers. 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. The two patterns sit about 0.7mm apart on the hub circle and a wheel built for one will not properly seat on the other. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers to 5x114.3 only. The 5x115 pattern used on Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Challenger, and Cadillac CTS will not fit a 2nd gen or newer Sorento.

Sorento and Santa Fe: Same Chassis on the Unibody Cars

The 2nd gen and newer Sorento share a chassis with the Hyundai Santa Fe under the Hyundai Motor Group corporate umbrella. Both unibody SUVs run 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore. A wheel that physically fits a current MQ4 Sorento also bolts to the current Santa Fe (and vice versa). Final offset window and brake clearance are still measured separately on each car at our Chandler, Arizona facility, but the bolt math and hub bore cross by design. If you are on a Santa Fe instead of a Sorento, the right hub is the Hyundai Santa Fe wheels and rims hub. That same-chassis pairing does NOT extend back to the 1st gen body-on-frame Sorento, which was on a different architecture from the period Santa Fe (a unibody crossover from the start).

Most Sorento trims share the same fitment window within a generation. LX, EX, SX, SX Prestige, and X-Line on the MQ4 all run 5x114.3 / 67.1mm with a square (same width front and rear) fitment. The Sorento Hybrid and the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid (MQ4, 2021 and up) share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, brake package, and fitment window as the gasoline Sorento of the same trim. The hybrid powertrains do not change wheel fitment. The X-Line trim ships with a more rugged tire and a slightly raised ride height from the factory, but the bolt pattern, hub bore, and aftermarket fitment box are the same as the rest of the MQ4 lineup.

For the Sorento that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation (95.3mm on the 1st gen, 67.1mm on the 2nd gen and newer), lug stud height, and turning clearance at full lock with the wheel and tire installed.
