The Range Rover Sport SVR and the new Defender V8 carry the enthusiast aftermarket volume. The Evoque and Velar lead the smaller crossover side. Land Rover fitment splits between two main patterns. The full size lineup (Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery, LR2/LR3/LR4, modern Defender) uses 5x120, the same pattern shared with the BMW lineup because of the BMW ownership of Land Rover in the late 1990s and the platform engineering carried over. The smaller lineup (Evoque, Discovery Sport, Velar) uses 5x108, shared with Jaguar. The Freelander used 5x114.3 in its single US generation. The Land Rover Bolt Pattern Landscape

Land Rover runs two main bolt patterns. The full size lineup uses 5x120, the smaller crossovers use 5x108.

The 5x120 versus 5x108 split between the full size and smaller crossover lineup is the biggest source of cross shopping surprise. A wheel that fits a Range Rover will not fit an Evoque even though both are Land Rovers.

The Range Rover Sport SVR, the Defender V8, and the 5x120 Full-Size Family

The Range Rover Sport SVR is the Land Rover brake clearance challenge. The SVR runs 6 piston front calipers paired with large rotors that demand more wheel clearance than the base Range Rover Sport. The new Range Rover SV adds an even larger brake package as an option. A wheel that fits a base Range Rover may not clear the SVR or SV brake caliper.

The modern Defender (2020 and newer) brought a new generation onto the 5x120 pattern after the original Defender was discontinued in 2016. The Defender V8 adds a larger brake setup than the base Defender. The Defender 90, 110, and 130 all share the same bolt pattern but the offset windows differ slightly because of the wheelbase variations.

The 5x120 pattern is shared with the BMW lineup which gives Range Rover and Defender owners access to the BMW aftermarket. Offset windows differ between BMW and Land Rover because the SUV body and off road tire clearance demand different specifications than a BMW sedan. Centerbore matters because BMW uses 72.6mm and Land Rover uses 72.6mm on most models, so the hub centric fit is consistent.

How We Confirm Fitment

Element Wheels measures fitment on Land Rover models we sell wheels for. For each chassis and brake combination we measure clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and any suspension components, brake caliper height, hub protrusion, lug height, and how much room the front wheel has when turning lock to lock. We do this on the car, not from a spec sheet.

That measurement work covers the most active Land Rover platforms across the catalog. The Range Rover Sport SVR, Range Rover SV, and Defender V8 are tracked separately from their base trims because of the larger brake clearance. The Evoque, Velar, and Discovery Sport are tracked on the 5x108 smaller crossover platform. The Freelander is tracked separately on the older 5x114.3 pattern.
