Lexus LS Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Lexus LS is Lexus's flagship full-size luxury sedan, running across four generations from the LS 400 to the current LS 500. The LS has carried two bolt patterns over its history with one transition. From 1990 through 2006, the LS 400 and LS 430 ran 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5) with a 60.1mm hub bore. In 2007 the LS 460 redesign moved the platform to 5x120 with the same 60.1mm hub bore, and the LS 460, LS 600h, and current LS 500 all run 5x120. The hub bore stays 60.1mm across every LS generation, so the only spec that changes is the bolt circle diameter. Element Wheels measures fitment on every LS generation and splits the LS 460 F Sport out from the standard LS 460 because the F Sport carries a larger brake package. Find your generation below and the fitment specs follow.
Find Your Lexus LS Generation
Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific LS. The bolt pattern transition is at the 2007 LS 460 redesign. LS 400 (1990-2000) and LS 430 (2001-2006): 5x114.3. LS 460/600h (2007-2017) and LS 500 (2018 and up): 5x120. The 60.1mm hub bore is shared across every generation.
The Lexus LS Bolt Pattern Changed at the 2007 Redesign
From 1990 through 2006 the Lexus LS ran 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5) with a 60.1mm hub bore. That covers every LS 400 (1990-2000) and every LS 430 (2001-2006). When Lexus redesigned the LS for 2007 as the LS 460 (and the hybrid LS 600h), the platform moved to 5x120 with the same 60.1mm hub bore. The LS has stayed on 5x120 through the LS 460, LS 600h, and the current LS 500 (2018 and up). The 5x120 pattern on the modern LS is the BMW/Lexus shared spec; a wheel built for a 5x120 BMW will sometimes bolt onto a 5x120 LS but the hub bore differs (BMW is 72.56mm, Lexus is 60.1mm) so a hub centric ring is needed in that case.
One detail that catches buyers cross-shopping older LS wheels: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. They sit roughly 0.7mm apart and are not interchangeable, even though the difference sounds tiny. The imperial nickname 5x4.5 refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches), not to 5x115. The older LS 400 and LS 430 are 5x114.3 / 5x4.5; do not buy wheels listed for 5x115 (Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger LX) for an older LS. Compare across the rest of the Lexus lineup at our Lexus wheels and rims hub.
Why the F Sport and LS 500 Run Tighter Fitment
Two fitment details on the modern LS deserve their own callout. The LS 460 F Sport (2013-2017) carries a larger front brake package than the standard LS 460 of the same year, which raises the minimum diameter we can run on the front. The standard LS 460/600h takes 18 inch as a smallest aftermarket diameter; the F Sport starts at 20 inch. The other detail is the current LS 500 (2018 and up): the LS 500 ships must-staggered from the factory with a wider rear, where the older LS generations accept staggered as an option. The LS 500 OEM staggered setup is part of the design intent and we recommend keeping it staggered in aftermarket builds.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Lexus LS
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the LS generations:
- LS 400 (1990-2000): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-20 inch. Aftermarket width: 7-8.5 inch front, 8-10.5 inch rear (optional staggered).
- LS 430 (2001-2006): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 16-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 7-9 inch front, 8-10.5 inch rear (optional staggered).
- LS 460 / 600h (2007-2012): 5x120 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 7.5-9 inch front, 8.5-10.5 inch rear (optional staggered).
- LS 460 / 600h (2013-2017): 5x120 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 7.5-9 inch front, 8.5-10.5 inch rear (optional staggered).
- LS 460 F Sport (2013-2017): 5x120 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20-22 inch (the 18 and 19 inch are gone for F Sport brake clearance). Aftermarket width: 8-9 inch front, 9-10.5 inch rear (optional staggered).
- LS 500 (2018 and up): 5x120 bolt pattern, 60.1mm hub bore. Element aftermarket diameter range: 20-22 inch. Aftermarket width: 8.5-9.5 inch front, 10-11 inch rear (must-staggered).
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific LS (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the LS wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
The LS 460 F Sport is the most clearance-sensitive LS we measure. The factory F Sport package includes the larger front brake, so an 18 inch aftermarket wheel that fits a standard LS 460 will not clear the F Sport front rotor. We confirm clearance separately on the F Sport. The LS 500 must-staggered setup is the second detail to confirm; running a square wheel set on an LS 500 will not match factory tire load distribution and can affect wear.
How We Confirm Fitment on Lexus LS Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every LS generation back to the original 1990 LS 400. For the LS that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height (especially on the F Sport), hub bore confirmation, lug seat geometry, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
That measurement work is what produced the chassis-specific and brake-specific fitment windows on this page. It is also why every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
Lexus LS Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Lexus LS?
It depends on the generation. The LS 400 (1990-2000) and LS 430 (2001-2006) ran 5x114.3 (also called 5x4.5) with a 60.1mm hub bore. Starting with the 2007 LS 460 redesign, the platform moved to 5x120 with the same 60.1mm hub bore, and the LS 460, LS 600h, and LS 500 have all stayed on 5x120. The hub bore is 60.1mm across every LS generation.
Will my older LS wheels fit a newer LS?
Not across the 2006 to 2007 transition. An LS 400 or LS 430 wheel (5x114.3) will not bolt onto an LS 460, LS 600h, or LS 500 (all 5x120). Within the 5x114.3 era the LS 400 and LS 430 share the same bolt pattern and hub bore. Within the 5x120 era the LS 460, LS 600h, and LS 500 share the same bolt pattern and hub bore, but the LS 500 is must-staggered from the factory where the LS 460/600h is optional staggered.
LS 460 vs LS 460 F Sport: do they take the same wheels?
Bolt pattern and hub bore are the same (5x120 / 60.1mm). The F Sport carries a larger front brake package, which raises the minimum diameter we can run on the front from 18 inch (standard LS 460/600h) to 20 inch (F Sport). An 18 inch aftermarket wheel that fits a standard LS 460 will not clear the F Sport front rotor. Width and offset windows are different too; confirm the F Sport trim before ordering.
Are Lexus LS wheels staggered?
Depends on the generation. The LS 400, LS 430, and LS 460/600h all accept staggered as an option, and we recommend the staggered look on those generations. The LS 500 (2018 and up) ships must-staggered from the factory with a noticeably wider rear, and that is the setup we recommend keeping in any aftermarket build. The LS is a rear-drive (or rear-biased AWD on the 600h) luxury sedan; the rear axle benefits from the wider tire.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Lexus LS?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on the LS 430 and every modern LS (LS 460, LS 600h, LS 460 F Sport, and LS 500). The LS 400 (1990-2000) tops at 20 inch. Above 22 inch on the modern LS, tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply on a luxury sedan, which defeats the point of the platform.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Lexus LS?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 60.1mm. That holds across every LS generation since the hub bore stays 60.1mm from 1990 through the current LS 500. If you are running BMW-bored wheels (most BMW wheels are 72.56mm) on a 5x120 LS 460/600h/500, you will need a 72.56-to-60.1mm hub centric ring. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
5x120 LS vs 5x120 BMW: are they the same wheel?
Bolt pattern matches (5x120) but the hub bore does not. BMW 5x120 wheels are bored 72.56mm; Lexus LS 5x120 wheels are bored 60.1mm. A BMW wheel will bolt onto a 5x120 LS if you fit a 72.56-to-60.1mm hub centric ring, but the offset windows are different and the wheel may not clear the LS brake setup correctly. We measure LS-specific fitment and do not recommend defaulting to BMW-tested wheels for an LS.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Lexus LS build?
Three steps. Confirm your generation (LS 400, LS 430, LS 460/600h, F Sport, or LS 500) and year. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific LS (each listing shows its own offset) and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you are on an F Sport or an LS 500, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
