Lexus RX Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Lexus RX is the original luxury crossover and Lexus's best-selling SUV across five generations. Element Wheels measures fitment from the XU10 RX 300 (1999-2003) through the XU20 RX 330 (2004-2006), the AL10 RX 350 / 400h / 450h (2007-2015), the AL20 RX 350 / 450h (2016-2022), and the current AL30 RX 350, RX 350h, RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, and RX 500h F Sport Performance (2023 and up). Bolt pattern is constant on the RX. Every generation runs 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore, including the F SPORT trim option and the new RX 500h F Sport Performance. What changes between generations is the aftermarket diameter floor and, on the current AL30, the brake package. Older RX generations ran matched front-and-rear brakes per our catalog. The AL30 introduced a front brake larger than the rear and added optional staggered fitment on the RX 500h F Sport Performance. Pick your generation below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific RX.

Find Your Lexus RX Generation

Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific RX. The bolt pattern is 5x114.3 / 60.1mm across every Lexus RX, so generation and trim are what shape the aftermarket window. The current AL30 starts at 19 inch and is the only RX in our catalog with a front brake larger than the rear.

The Lexus RX Bolt Pattern

Every Lexus RX uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That holds from the original 1999 XU10 RX 300 through the XU20 RX 330, the AL10 RX 350 / 400h / 450h, the AL20 RX 350 / 450h, and the entire current AL30 generation, including the RX 350, RX 350h, RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid, and the RX 500h F Sport Performance. The 5x114.3 pattern is also written as 5x4.5 in imperial. That imperial nickname refers ONLY to 5x114.3 (114.3mm = 4.5 inches) and not to 5x115. A wheel listed for 5x115 will NOT bolt onto a Lexus RX, even though the difference reads as less than a millimeter. The hub bore stays 60.1mm across every RX generation, so the lug-stress geometry is consistent across the platform. The one spec that changes within the platform is the lug thread pitch. Older RX generations through the AL20 ran M12x1.5 lug spec. The current AL30 (2023 and up) moved to M14x1.5, so factory lug nuts do not cross from an older RX to a new one even though the bolt circle is identical.

The RX shares its 5x114.3 / 60.1mm spec with the Lexus IS, GS, ES, NX, and Lexus RC across the modern Lexus lineup. Within the SUV family it does NOT cross to the GX or the LX, which both run 6-lug patterns built off Toyota truck hardware. Compare across the rest of the Lexus lineup at our Lexus wheels and rims hub.

What Changes Across the RX Generations

Two things shift across the five RX generations even though the bolt pattern does not. The aftermarket diameter floor steps up. The XU10 RX 300 accepts a 16 inch wheel as a minimum. The XU20 RX 330 and the AL10 RX 350 / 400h / 450h move to a 17 inch minimum. The AL20 RX 350 / 450h moves to 18 inch. The current AL30 RX 350 / 350h / 450h+ / 500h starts at 19 inch in our measured window because the smallest factory wheel that Lexus ships on the AL30 is itself a 19 inch wheel. Going below the factory floor on a current RX usually runs into the brake caliper. The hybrid variants (RX 400h, RX 450h, RX 450h+ PHEV, RX 350h, and the RX 500h F Sport Performance) share fitment with their conventional gas siblings within each generation. The hybrid powertrain does not change the wheel hardware on the RX.

The AL30 (2023 and up) is the first RX generation in our catalog with a front brake larger than the rear. Lexus stepped up the front rotor and caliper on the current platform, especially on the RX 500h F Sport Performance, which carries the most aggressive front brake package in the lineup. That is the norm on a performance-leaning SUV. The front axle does most of the braking work. The AL30 is also the first RX where we measure an optional staggered fitment in the catalog. Older RX generations ran matched front-rear wheels (square fitment) because the platform is a transverse-engine front-wheel-drive crossover with optional AWD. The RX 500h F Sport Performance is the trim where we most often see staggered builds.

How We Confirm Fitment on Lexus RX Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including every RX generation from the 1999 XU10 RX 300 through the current AL30 RX 500h F Sport Performance. For the RX that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper clearance (which steps up on the AL30 versus prior generations), hub bore confirmation, lug seat geometry, lug thread pitch (M12x1.5 on the older RX, M14x1.5 on the AL30), and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the chassis-specific and trim-specific fitment windows on this page, including the 19 inch minimum diameter and front-brake-larger-than-rear callout on the current AL30 RX.

Lexus RX Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Lexus RX?

Every Lexus RX uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That holds across the XU10 RX 300 (1999-2003), the XU20 RX 330 (2004-2006), the AL10 RX 350 / 400h / 450h (2007-2015), the AL20 RX 350 / 450h (2016-2022), and the entire current AL30 generation including the RX 350, RX 350h, RX 450h+, and RX 500h F Sport Performance (2023 and up). The RX has never used any other bolt pattern.

Will RX 350 wheels from 2015 fit a current RX 350?

The bolt pattern and hub bore match (5x114.3 / 60.1mm across both), but two things make older RX wheels a poor fit on the current AL30. First, the AL30 moved to M14x1.5 lug thread pitch where the older AL10 ran M12x1.5. The lug nuts that came with the old wheels will not work on the new car. Second, the AL30 carries a larger front brake caliper that the older 17 or 18 inch RX wheels usually will not clear. The factory floor on the AL30 is 19 inch for a reason. We recommend treating the AL30 as a new fitment search rather than reusing AL10 or AL20 wheels.

Do the hybrid RX variants take different wheels than the gas RX?

No. The RX hybrids (RX 400h on the AL10, RX 450h on the AL10 and AL20, the current RX 350h, RX 450h+ plug-in, and the RX 500h F Sport Performance) all share fitment with their conventional gas siblings within each generation. The hybrid powertrain adds weight but does not change the wheel and lug hardware. Bolt pattern, hub bore, brake-size grouping, and lug thread all match the gas trim of the same generation per our catalog.

What size wheels and tires came on the Lexus RX from the factory?

Factory wheels range from 16 inch on the early XU10 RX 300 up to 22 inch on the current AL30 RX 500h F Sport Performance. The XU20 RX 330 and the AL10 RX 350 / 400h / 450h typically shipped on 17 or 18 inch factory wheels. The AL20 RX 350 / 450h moved to 18 or 20 inch. The current AL30 ships on 19 inch as the smallest factory wheel, stepping up to 21 inch on the F SPORT trims and 22 inch on the RX 500h F Sport Performance. Factory tire pairings on the high-trim AL30 use a low-profile sidewall.

Are Lexus RX wheels staggered?

Square on every RX through the AL20. The RX is a transverse-engine front-wheel-drive crossover with optional AWD, and the platform ran a matched front-and-rear wheel and tire setup from 1999 through 2022. The current AL30 (2023 and up) is the first RX generation where we measure optional staggered fitment, primarily on the RX 500h F Sport Performance. AWD trims on the AL30 still benefit from square fitment because matched front-rear circumference is what the AWD system expects.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Lexus RX?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch across every RX generation, including the AL30 RX 500h F Sport Performance. The RX is a luxury crossover and above 22 inch the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply, defeating the point of the platform. The XU10 RX 300 has the widest practical range (16 to 22 inch) because the smaller stock wheel leaves room to step up. The current AL30 runs 19 to 22 inch because the factory wheel itself starts at 19 inch.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Lexus RX?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 60.1mm. That holds across every Lexus RX generation since the hub bore stays 60.1mm from the 1999 RX 300 through the current RX 500h F Sport Performance. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Lexus RX build?

Three steps. Confirm your generation (XU10 1999-2003, XU20 2004-2006, AL10 2007-2015 with a 2010 refresh, AL20 2016-2022, AL30 2023 and up) and trim (RX 350, RX 350h, RX 450h+, RX 500h F Sport Performance, plus the F SPORT trim option where applicable). Confirm your model year specifically if you have a current AL30, because the M14x1.5 lug thread pitch does not match older RX wheels. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific RX and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
