Lincoln MKX Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Lincoln MKX is the midsize luxury crossover Lincoln built from 2007 through 2018 as the luxury counterpart to the Ford Edge. Lincoln renamed the model to the Lincoln Nautilus for the 2019 model year and forward, so the MKX nameplate covers the first two generations of this platform. Element Wheels tracks MKX fitment across two generations. The 1st gen (2007-2015) ran a 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 70.5mm hub bore on the Ford Edge CD3 platform. The 2nd gen (2016-2018) moved to a 5x108 bolt pattern with a 63.4mm hub bore when Lincoln refreshed the MKX onto the Ford Edge CD4 platform. The wheels do not bolt across the 2016 transition. Find your year range below and the wheel and rim recommendations follow.

Find Your Lincoln MKX Generation

Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific MKX. The bolt pattern transitions at 2016 from 5x114.3 to 5x108. The hub bore transitions at the same point from 70.5mm to 63.4mm. If you have a 2019 or newer Lincoln crossover on this same platform, it is badged Nautilus.

The Lincoln MKX Bolt Pattern

The 1st gen MKX (2007-2015) runs 5x114.3 with a 70.5mm hub bore. The 5x114.3 spec is also called 5x4.5 in imperial form because 114.3mm equals 4.5 inches. Both notations describe the same pattern. Lincoln refreshed the MKX for 2016 onto the second generation Ford Edge platform and moved to 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore. The 5x108 pattern is a Ford-specific metric pattern and does NOT cross with 5x114.3 or with any other 5 lug pattern in that size range. The MKX stayed on 5x108 / 63.4mm CB through 2018 before Lincoln renamed the model to Nautilus for 2019.

The MKX shares its bolt pattern, hub bore, and platform exactly with the Ford Edge of the same generation. 1st gen MKX wheels cross-shop with the 2007-2014 Ford Edge (also 5x114.3 / 70.5mm). 2nd gen MKX wheels cross-shop with the 2015-2018 Ford Edge (also 5x108 / 63.4mm). Brake clearance and trim-specific factory wheel sizes are the deciding variables when cross-shopping. Compare across the rest of the Lincoln lineup at our Lincoln wheels and rims hub.

What Changed Across Lincoln MKX Generations

Two MKX generations show up in our catalog with two major spec changes between them. The bolt pattern changed at 2016 (from 5x114.3 to 5x108). The hub bore changed at the same point (from 70.5mm to 63.4mm). The 1st gen MKX ran factory 18 to 20 inch wheels depending on trim, with the Limited and Sport trims offering 20 inch as the top size. The 2016 redesign on the new Ford Edge platform brought a more aggressive face style and shipped factory 18, 20, and 21 inch wheels depending on trim, with Black Label cars getting the 21 inch as standard.

The aftermarket pattern on the MKX is a looks-driven build on a midsize family crossover. Customers shop the MKX for a more aggressive face style than the factory wheel, a step up in diameter from the dealer wheel, and a deeper concave look. The MKX is available in front wheel drive and all wheel drive across both generations. Neither layout calls for a staggered fitment. The aftermarket build stays square with the visual upgrade coming from spoke design, finish, and face concavity.

Lincoln Nautilus note. The MKX was renamed Lincoln Nautilus for the 2019 model year onward when Lincoln dropped the MK naming convention across the lineup. The 2019 Nautilus carries the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and offset window as the 2016-2018 MKX (5x108 / 63.4mm CB) because the platform underneath stayed the same. If you have a 2019 or newer Nautilus, the 2016-2018 MKX wheel will fit and vice versa. The 2024 Nautilus is the third generation rename refresh and moves to a different fitment spec, so cross-shop with care across that line.

How We Confirm Fitment on Lincoln MKX Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the MKX across both generations. For the MKX that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub protrusion, and lug seat depth, all measured directly on the car. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We do not pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Lincoln MKX

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the MKX generations:

  • 1st Gen (2007-2015): 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 70.5mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread. Ford Edge CD3 platform. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-9.5 inch.
  • 2nd Gen (2016-2018): 5x108 bolt pattern, 63.4mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug thread. Ford Edge CD4 platform. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9.5 inch.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific MKX (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the MKX wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

Lincoln MKX Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Lincoln MKX?

It depends on the year. The 2007-2015 MKX runs 5x114.3 with a 70.5mm hub bore. The 2016-2018 MKX runs 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore. The bolt pattern changed when Lincoln refreshed the MKX onto the second generation Ford Edge platform in 2016, and the wheels do not bolt across that transition.

Will my older MKX wheels fit a newer MKX?

Not across the 2016 redesign. The 2007-2015 MKX runs 5x114.3 with a 70.5mm hub bore. The 2016 and newer MKX runs 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore. The two are different bolt patterns and the wheels do not bolt across. The 2016-2018 MKX wheels do bolt onto the 2019 and newer Lincoln Nautilus (the renamed MKX) because the platform underneath stayed the same.

Will Ford Edge wheels fit my Lincoln MKX?

Yes, within the same era. The MKX is the luxury Lincoln-badged version of the Ford Edge on the same midsize crossover platform. The 1st gen MKX and the 2007-2014 Ford Edge both run 5x114.3 with a 70.5mm hub bore. The 2016 and newer MKX and the 2015-2018 Ford Edge both run 5x108 with a 63.4mm hub bore. Wheels are cross-shoppable across the two within the same era. Brake clearance and trim-specific factory wheel sizes are the deciding variables.

Is the Lincoln MKX 5x108 pattern the same as 5x114.3?

No. 5x108 and 5x114.3 are two different bolt patterns and the wheels do not interchange. The 6mm difference is enough that the studs do not line up and the wheel cannot be mounted safely. If you have a 2016-2018 MKX (5x108) do not buy wheels listed as 5x114.3 or 5x4.5 even though the lug count matches.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Lincoln MKX?

Our measured Element aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on every MKX generation. 20 inch is the most common aftermarket size on the 1st gen MKX. 22 inch is the popular top-end aftermarket choice on the 2nd gen MKX because Lincoln already shipped factory 21 inch on Black Label trims, so a 22 inch aftermarket fitment is a one inch step from the top-trim factory wheel. Above 22 inch sacrifices ride and tire selection on a midsize family crossover.

Are Lincoln MKX wheels staggered?

No. The MKX runs a square (non-staggered) fitment from the factory across both generations. The car is available as front wheel drive and all wheel drive, and neither layout benefits from a wider rear wheel. Almost every aftermarket MKX build also runs square.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Lincoln MKX?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than your MKX hub. The 2007-2015 MKX uses a 70.5mm hub. The 2016-2018 MKX uses a 63.4mm hub. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Lincoln MKX build?

Three steps. Confirm your generation by year (2007-2015 is 5x114.3, 2016-2018 is 5x108). Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific MKX (each listing shows its own offset) and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you are pushing toward the 22 inch top of our window or you have a Black Label trim and want to confirm fitment, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
