Every Mazdaspeed in the 2003-2013 production window runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and 12x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x114.3 pattern is also expressed as 5x4.5 in imperial nickname (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches). Be careful with the common mix-up. 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115. Those two patterns are 0.7mm apart at the bolt circle and they do not cross. The imperial 5x4.5 nickname refers only to 5x114.3.

Hub bore is 67.1mm across the Mazdaspeed lineup. A wheel with a centerbore larger than 67.1mm needs hub centric rings to bring the bore down to the hub diameter. The 5x114.3 / 67.1mm spec on the Mazdaspeed lineup matches the rest of the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 lineage from the mid-2000s forward, which is why aftermarket support for Mazdaspeed wheels has always been strong, the platform shares the most common Mazda hub interface in the catalog. Mazdaspeed produced three US-market performance cars during the 2003-2013 window. Each shares the 5x114.3 / 67.1mm bolt-pattern spec with the broader Mazda lineup, but each has its own chassis, drivetrain, and brake package that affects the wheel fitment box.

• Mazdaspeed Protege (2003): The first US Mazdaspeed. A turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder front wheel drive Protege sedan. • Mazdaspeed6 (2006-2007): Mazdaspeed's only AWD car. A turbocharged 2.3L MZR DISI 4-cylinder all wheel drive Mazda 6 sedan with a 6-speed manual. Square fitment is the default on every Mazdaspeed. None of these cars came with a factory staggered setup and Element does not recommend staggered builds on the platform. The chassis are FWD (Protege, both Mazdaspeed3 generations) or AWD (Mazdaspeed6). Both drivetrain types favor matched-width wheels for tire rotation and chassis balance.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mazdaspeed Wheels

For these cars that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on both axles (the Mazdaspeed3 BL has tighter front fender wells than a base Mazda 3 because of the wider front track and the suspension package), gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension links, brake caliper height across the factory package, hub bore confirmation at 67.1mm, and lug nut seat geometry for the 12x1.5 nuts.
