The Mazda RX-7 Bolt Pattern and Hub Bore

The 1993-1995 FD RX-7 runs 5x114.3 with a 67.1mm hub bore and 12x1.5 lug nuts. The 5x114.3 pattern, also expressed as 5x4.5 in imperial nickname (114.3mm equals 4.5 inches), is the same pattern Mazda used across most of the rear drive lineup of that era and is one of the most common 5-lug patterns in the world. Be careful of the common cross-up: 5x114.3 is NOT the same pattern as 5x115. Those are 0.7mm apart at the bolt circle, which is enough to stress the lug studs over time. The imperial 5x4.5 nickname refers ONLY to 5x114.3.

For older RX-7 generations: the first generation SA22C and FB (1979-1985) and the second generation FC (1986-1991) are different chassis with different lug specs from the FD. We do not extrapolate older generation fitment from the FD catalog row. Why The FD RX-7 Is The Wheel Buyer's RX-7

The FD RX-7 ships from the factory with a square 16x8 fitment, the same wheel front and rear. That was the lightweight balance Mazda was after when the car came out in 1992. The aftermarket community took the FD in a different direction. Because the rear fender well is large and the chassis tolerates a wider rear wheel without rubbing, staggered setups became the default aftermarket build, especially as engine builders extracted more power from the 13B-REW. Element Wheels supports both. The fitment catalog row for the FD has separate width windows for front and rear, with a deliberately wider rear allowance because that is what the rear of the FD can take.

The brake package on the factory FD is matched front to rear. The FD does not have a Brembo or factory big-brake option that splits fitment by trim. Customers running an aftermarket big brake kit on the front should verify the specific kit's caliper height before ordering wheels.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mazda RX-7 Wheels
