Mercedes-Benz A-Class Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the compact sedan at the entry point of the Mercedes-Benz lineup in the U.S. market. The fourth generation W177 launched here for the 2019 model year and rides on the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform with optional 4Matic all wheel drive, shared with the CLA, GLA, and GLB across the same family of platforms. Element Wheels measures the A-Class in two factory trims: the base A 220 with 2WD or 4Matic (2019-2023) and the AMG A 35 4Matic (2020-2023). Bolt pattern is 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore on every A-Class variant. Lug fastener is M14x1.5, lug bolt style (Mercedes uses a bolt that threads into the hub, not a stud with a separate lug nut). The A-Class is a square fitment platform across every trim. Same wheel and tire size front and rear, no factory stagger. What changes between the A 220 and the AMG A 35 is the brake package size and the offset window. Pick your trim below for the fitment specs.

Find Your Mercedes-Benz A-Class Trim

Pick your trim to see wheels and rims that fit your specific A-Class. Bolt pattern is 5x112 / 66.56mm CB on every variant. What changes is the brake package on the AMG A 35 (larger than the base A 220) and the body geometry that constrains the offset window.

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Bolt Pattern

Every Mercedes-Benz A-Class in our catalog uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers the W177 A 220 (2019-2023) in both 2WD and 4Matic trim and the AMG A 35 4Matic (2020-2023). Lug fastener is M14x1.5, lug bolt style. The W177 is the fourth generation of the A-Class globally and the first generation Mercedes-Benz brought to the U.S. as a sedan.

The A-Class rides on the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform with optional 4Matic all wheel drive. The MFA2 family includes the A-Class, the C118 CLA (2020 and up), the H247 GLA (2021 and up), and the X247 GLB (2020 and up), and all four nameplates share the same 5x112 / 66.56mm bolt math, the same M14x1.5 lug thread, and the same general chassis lineage. Wheels will bolt across all four MFA2 nameplates in stud pattern and centering, but body geometry differs significantly between them. The A-Class and CLA are low sedans / four door coupes. The GLA is a subcompact SUV. The GLB is a compact three row SUV. A wheel measured for an A 35 will not automatically clear a GLA 35 or a CLA 35 of the same year. We track each MFA nameplate as its own platform.

The 5x112 / 66.56mm pattern is also the universal modern Mercedes-Benz spec, shared with the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLE, and GLS. 5x112 is NOT the same as 5x114.3 used on most Japanese cars. The two patterns sit roughly 2mm apart and are not interchangeable. Compare across the rest of the Mercedes-Benz lineup at our Mercedes-Benz wheels and rims hub, or check the sibling fitments at /wheels/mercedes-benz/cla-class, /wheels/mercedes-benz/gla-class, and /wheels/mercedes-benz/glb-class.

Why A-Class Trim And Brake Package Determine Wheel Fit

The A-Class ships in two factory trim tiers in the U.S. market. The base A 220 runs the standard A-Class brake package and accepts an 18 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. It is available in front wheel drive 2WD and 4Matic all wheel drive on the same chassis. The AMG A 35 4Matic sits at the top of the A-Class lineup and runs a larger brake than the base A 220. The front brake on the AMG A 35 is significantly larger than the rear brake, which is standard on every high output Mercedes-AMG performance variant. The AMG A 35 also requires an 18 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. The A-Class is square across every variant. Same wheel and tire size front and rear, no factory stagger. The square layout matches the MFA2 front wheel drive geometry and the optional 4Matic all wheel drive driveline.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the A-Class trims:

  • A 220 2WD / 4Matic (2019-2023): 5x112 bolt pattern, 66.56mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug bolts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-8.5 inch (square). Standard A-Class brake package.
  • AMG A 35 4Matic (2020-2023): 5x112, 66.56mm CB, M14x1.5 lug bolts. Aftermarket diameter range: 18-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-8.5 inch (square). Larger brake than the base A 220. Front brake significantly larger than rear.

Offset windows are tightly controlled by the AMG A 35 brake clearance and the front wheel drive geometry. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific A-Class trim (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the A-Class wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mercedes-Benz A-Class Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the W177 A-Class from the 2019 launch forward. For the A-Class that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on a low compact sedan body, gap between the back of the wheel and the front suspension struts on the MFA2 front wheel drive platform, brake caliper height across the base A 220 and the AMG A 35 packages, hub bore confirmation on the 66.56mm Mercedes hub, lug bolt seat depth for the M14x1.5 lug bolt, and the front wheel drive turning geometry that constrains the steer angle clearance. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Mercedes-Benz A-Class?

Every U.S. market Mercedes-Benz A-Class uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers the W177 A 220 (2019-2023) in both 2WD and 4Matic trim and the AMG A 35 4Matic (2020-2023). Lug fastener is M14x1.5, lug bolt style. 5x112 is the Mercedes-Benz family standard pattern. It is NOT the same as 5x114.3 used on most Japanese cars. The two patterns sit roughly 2mm apart and are not interchangeable.

What is the hub bore on a Mercedes-Benz A-Class?

Hub bore is 66.56mm on every A 220 and AMG A 35. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

Will CLA, GLA, or GLB wheels fit my A-Class?

The A-Class, CLA, GLA, and GLB all ride on the Mercedes MFA2 family of platforms and all use 5x112 / 66.56mm with M14x1.5 lug bolts. Wheels will bolt onto each hub in pattern and hub centering. But the four nameplates have different ride heights, fender geometries, and brake packages. The A-Class and CLA are low sedans / four door coupes. The GLA and GLB are taller crossover bodies. A wheel measured for an A 35 will not automatically clear a GLA 35 or a CLA 35 of the same year. We track each MFA nameplate as its own platform with its own measured fitment library.

Does the AMG A 35 need different wheels than the base A 220?

Same bolt pattern (5x112 / 66.56mm) as the base A 220, but the AMG A 35 ships with a larger brake package and a tighter offset window. The AMG A 35 carries the largest brake on the U.S. A-Class platform, with the front brake significantly larger than the rear. Both trims require an 18 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. A wheel that clears a base A 220 front caliper may not clear an AMG A 35 front caliper of the same chassis. We track the AMG A 35 and the base A 220 on separate catalog rows. Use the AMG fitment box, not the A 220 row, when shopping for an AMG A 35.

Is the A-Class a square or staggered fitment?

Square. Same wheel and tire size front and rear on every A-Class variant, including the AMG A 35. The A-Class rides on the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform with optional 4Matic, and Mercedes-AMG does not run staggered wheels from the factory on this platform. The square layout matches the front wheel drive geometry and the optional all wheel drive driveline.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Mercedes-Benz A-Class?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on every A-Class variant, including the A 220 and the AMG A 35. 19 and 20 inch are popular AMG choices for visual stance. 18 inch is the minimum on both the A 220 and the AMG A 35 and is the most popular size for tire selection and ride quality. Above 20 inch typically requires fender clearance work and is not a build we measure for on a body this size.

Does the A-Class use lug bolts or lug nuts?

Lug bolts. The A-Class uses M14x1.5 lug bolts that thread directly into the hub rather than lug nuts on pre-installed studs. This is the standard Mercedes-Benz mounting system across the entire lineup. The correct bolt length depends on the aftermarket wheel's mounting face thickness, so the wrong length is the most common A-Class installation mistake. We ship the right bolts with every Mercedes-Benz A-Class wheel order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Mercedes-Benz A-Class?

Confirm your trim (A 220 in 2WD or 4Matic, or AMG A 35 4Matic). Bolt pattern is 5x112 / 66.56mm on every variant. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific A-Class and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you have an AMG A 35, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering since the AMG brake clearance is tighter than the base A 220. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.

Pick your trim above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure on the A-Class platform, track the AMG A 35 on its own row because the brake clearance is tighter than the base A 220, and confirm the 5x112 / 66.56mm spec across the MFA2 family. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
