Mercedes renamed it the GLS-Class starting with the 2017 model year as part of the company-wide SUV rename, so the GL nameplate is a closed historical range. The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class Bolt Pattern

Every Mercedes-Benz GL in our catalog uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers the X164 (2007-2012, GL 350, GL 450, and GL 550) and the X166 (2013-2016, GL 350, GL 450, GL 550, and GL 63 AMG). Mercedes did not change the bolt math when they replaced the X164 with the X166 in 2013. Lug fastener is M14x1.5 thread, lug bolt style (Mercedes uses a bolt that threads into the hub, not a stud with a separate lug nut). Torque is the factory Mercedes spec for the GL platform.

The 5x112 / 66.56mm pattern is the universal modern Mercedes-Benz spec, shared with the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLE, and GLS. A wheel built for one of these will bolt onto a GL hub in stud pattern and centering, but the body geometry is significantly different on the GL. The GL is a full-size, three-row, body-on-frame-feel unibody SUV. Wheel arch height, fender clearance, ride height, and load rating are different from a C-Class sedan or even a GLC compact SUV. The GL ships in three brake tiers across both generations. The GL 350 and GL 450 run the standard GL brake package and accept an 18 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. The GL 550 carries a larger front brake than the 350 and 450 and requires a 20 inch minimum aftermarket diameter for the brake caliper to clear the wheel barrel. The GL 63 AMG (X166 only, 2013-2016) carries the largest brake on the GL platform, with the front and rear brakes both upsized for the 5.5 liter biturbo V8, and requires a 22 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. Each step up the trim ladder narrows the wheel barrel clearance available to the spoke design behind the wheel face. A wheel that clears a GL 350 may not clear a GL 63 AMG of the same year. The GL is a square fitment across every variant and every generation. Same wheel and tire size front and rear, no factory stagger.
