Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is the subcompact luxury SUV at the entry point of the Mercedes SUV lineup. It sits below the GLB, GLC, GLE, and GLS in body size and rides on the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform shared with the A-Class, CLA, and GLB. Element Wheels measures the GLA across two generations: the X156 (2015-2020, including the GLA 250 base and the AMG GLA 45) and the current H247 (2021 and up, including the GLA 250 base and the AMG GLA 35 and AMG GLA 45). Bolt pattern stays 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore on every GLA variant. The GLA is a square fitment platform across every trim. Same wheel and tire size front and rear, no factory stagger. What changes inside the family is the brake package on the AMG trims and the minimum diameter at the AMG 45. Pick your generation and trim below for the fitment specs.

Find Your Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Generation

Pick your chassis to see wheels and rims that fit your specific GLA. Bolt pattern is 5x112 / 66.56mm CB on every variant. What changes is the brake package on the AMG GLA 35 and AMG GLA 45 (larger than the base GLA 250) and the chassis generation between the X156 and the current H247.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Bolt Pattern

Every Mercedes-Benz GLA in our catalog uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers the X156 (2015-2020, including GLA 250 and AMG GLA 45) and the current H247 (2021 and up, including GLA 250, AMG GLA 35, and AMG GLA 45). Mercedes did not change the bolt math when they redesigned the GLA for the H247 in 2021. The GLA rides on the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform, shared with the A-Class, CLA, and GLB. All four nameplates use 5x112 / 66.56mm, so the bolt pattern crosses inside the MFA2 family.

The 5x112 / 66.56mm pattern is also the universal modern Mercedes-Benz spec, shared with the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLE, and GLS. A wheel built for one of these will bolt onto a GLA hub in stud pattern and centering, but the body geometry differs significantly. The GLA is the smallest body in the modern Mercedes SUV lineup. Wheel arch height, fender clearance, and ride height are different from a GLC or GLE. We track the GLA as its own platform.

5x112 is NOT the same as 5x114.3 used on most Japanese cars. The two patterns sit roughly 2mm apart and are not interchangeable. Compare across the rest of the Mercedes-Benz lineup at our Mercedes-Benz wheels and rims hub, or check the sibling fitments at /wheels/mercedes-benz/glb-class.

Why GLA Trim And Brake Package Determine Wheel Fit

The GLA ships in three trim tiers across both generations. The base GLA 250 runs the standard GLA brake package. The AMG GLA 35 (H247 only, introduced for 2021) sits in the middle and runs a larger brake than the base. The AMG GLA 45 sits at the top and runs the largest brake on the GLA platform, with an even tighter caliper-clearance window. Each AMG step changes the inner-barrel margin available to the spoke design behind the wheel face, so an aftermarket wheel that clears a GLA 250 may not clear a GLA 45 of the same chassis. The GLA is square across every variant, every generation. Same wheel and tire size front and rear, no factory stagger. The AMG GLA 45 carries the largest brake on the lineup with the front brake larger than the rear, which is standard for a high-output performance variant.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the GLA generations and trims:

  • X156 GLA 250 (2015-2020): 5x112 bolt pattern, 66.56mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lugs. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9 inch (square).
  • X156 GLA 45 AMG (2015-2019): 5x112, 66.56mm CB, M14x1.5. Aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9 inch (square). Larger AMG brake package than the base GLA 250. Front brake larger than rear.
  • H247 GLA 250 (2021 and up): 5x112, 66.56mm CB, M14x1.5 lugs. Aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9 inch (square). New H247 chassis, same bolt math.
  • H247 GLA 35 / 45 AMG (2021 and up): 5x112, 66.56mm CB, M14x1.5. Aftermarket diameter range: 18-22 inch. Aftermarket width range: 8-9 inch (square). Larger AMG brake package. Front brake larger than rear.

Offset windows are tightly controlled by the GLA AMG brake clearance and the front wheel drive geometry. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific GLA generation and trim (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the GLA-Class wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including both GLA generations from the 2015 X156 forward. For the GLA that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on a subcompact SUV body that runs tighter than a GLC or GLE, gap between the back of the wheel and the front suspension struts on the MFA2 platform, brake caliper height across the base GLA 250, the AMG GLA 35 (H247), and the AMG GLA 45 packages, hub bore confirmation on the 66.56mm Mercedes hub, lug bolt seat depth for the M14x1.5 thread, and the front wheel drive turning geometry that constrains the steer angle clearance. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Every Mercedes-Benz GLA uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers both generations (X156 from 2015 and H247 from 2021) and every trim, including GLA 250, AMG GLA 35 (H247 only), and AMG GLA 45. 5x112 is the Mercedes-Benz family standard pattern. It is NOT the same as 5x114.3 used on most Japanese cars. The two patterns sit roughly 2mm apart and are not interchangeable.

X156 vs H247: what changes for wheels?

Bolt pattern and hub bore stay the same (5x112 / 66.56mm) across both generations. The X156 (2015-2020) and the H247 (2021 and up) carry different exterior dimensions (the H247 is taller and wider than the X156), different suspension geometry, and a different brake package on the new AMG GLA 35 trim, which did not exist on the X156. The minimum and maximum aftermarket diameter window is the same on both generations (18-22 inch), but the offset window differs because of the body geometry change. Wheels bolt across in stud pattern but the measured fitment differs by generation.

Will A-Class, CLA, or GLB wheels fit my GLA?

The GLA, A-Class, CLA, and GLB all ride on the same Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform and all use 5x112 / 66.56mm with M14x1.5 lugs. Wheels will bolt onto each hub in pattern and hub centering. But the four nameplates have different ride heights, fender geometries, and brake packages. The A-Class and CLA are lower and more aggressively-styled. The GLA and GLB are taller crossover bodies. A wheel measured for a CLA 45 AMG will not automatically clear a GLA 45 AMG of the same year. We track each MFA2 nameplate as its own platform with its own measured fitment library.

Do AMG GLA 35 and AMG GLA 45 need different wheels than the base GLA 250?

Same bolt pattern (5x112 / 66.56mm) as the base GLA 250, but the AMG trims ship with larger brake packages and a tighter offset window. The GLA 45 AMG carries the largest brake on the GLA platform, with the front brake larger than the rear. A wheel that clears a base GLA 250 front caliper may not clear a GLA 45 front caliper of the same chassis. We track the AMG and base GLA on separate catalog rows. Use the AMG-specific fitment box, not the base GLA row, when shopping for an AMG GLA 35 or AMG GLA 45.

Is the GLA a square or staggered fitment?

Square. Same wheel and tire size front and rear on every GLA variant, in every generation, including the AMG GLA 35 and AMG GLA 45. The GLA rides on the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform with optional 4MATIC, and Mercedes-AMG does not run staggered wheels from the factory on this platform. The square layout matches the front wheel drive geometry.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Our measured aftermarket window tops at 22 inch on every GLA variant, including the X156 GLA 250, X156 GLA 45 AMG, H247 GLA 250, and H247 GLA 35 / 45 AMG. 20 and 21 inch are popular AMG choices for visual stance. 18 and 19 inch are popular on the GLA 250 for ride quality and tire selection. Below 18 inch risks hiding the brake calipers on the AMG trims. Above 22 inch typically requires fender clearance work and is not a build we measure for on a body this size.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 66.56mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.

How do I find the right wheels for my specific Mercedes-Benz GLA?

Confirm your generation (X156 from 2015-2020 or H247 from 2021 and up) and your trim (GLA 250, AMG GLA 35, or AMG GLA 45). Bolt pattern is 5x112 / 66.56mm on every variant. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific GLA and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you have an AMG trim (35 or 45), contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering since the AMG brake clearance is tighter than the base GLA 250. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
