Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class is the renamed SLK starting with the 2017 model year. Mercedes carried the third generation R172 chassis forward into the 2017 facelift and rebadged it SLC to align the roadster with the C-Class platform naming. Same bolt pattern, same hub bore, same body, same wheelbase. Different name. Mercedes sold the SLC in the US from 2017 through 2020 and discontinued the nameplate after the 2020 model year. There is no SLC successor. Element Wheels measures fitment across both SLC trims we sell wheels for: the SLC 300 and the SLC 43 AMG. The bolt pattern is 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore on both trims. The lug fastener is M14x1.5, lug bolt style (Mercedes uses a bolt that threads into the hub, not a stud with a separate lug nut). The thread pitch on the SLC stepped up to M14x1.5 across the lineup, where the earlier SLK had used M12x1.5 on the base trims. Both SLC trims are optional staggered fitments in our catalog, meaning the platform was engineered to run either square or staggered depending on customer preference, and our measured fitment box covers both layouts. The SLC 43 AMG carries the largest brake on the SLC platform, with the front brake larger than the rear, which is standard on a high output Mercedes-AMG performance variant. The SLC 300 runs the base brake package with a same size front and rear brake. Pick your trim below for the fitment specs that apply to your specific SLC.
Find Your Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class Trim
Pick your trim to see wheels and rims that fit your specific SLC. Bolt pattern is 5x112 / 66.56mm CB on both SLC trims. What changes is the brake package on the SLC 43 AMG versus the SLC 300.
The Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class Bolt Pattern
Every Mercedes-Benz SLC in our catalog uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers both trims, the SLC 300 and the SLC 43 AMG, across the 2017 through 2020 model years. Lug fastener is M14x1.5 thread, lug bolt style. The SLC moved to M14x1.5 across the lineup, where the earlier SLK had used M12x1.5 on the base trims and mixed M12x1.5 / M14x1.5 on the AMG variants.
The 5x112 / 66.56mm pattern is the universal modern Mercedes-Benz spec, shared with the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, GLC, GLE, and GLS. The SLC is built on the R172 facelift chassis carried over from the SLK. A wheel built for a contemporary C-Class will generally bolt onto an SLC hub in stud pattern and centering. The SLC is a short wheelbase two seat roadster with its own fender lines, ride height, and brake package, so we track the SLC as its own platform with its own measured fitment data per trim.
5x112 is NOT the same as 5x114.3 used on most Japanese cars. The two patterns sit roughly 2mm apart and are not interchangeable. Compare across the rest of the Mercedes-Benz lineup at our Mercedes-Benz wheels and rims hub, or check the SLK predecessor at /wheels/mercedes-benz/slk-class.
Why SLC Trim And Brake Package Determine Wheel Fit
The SLC ships in two brake tiers across the catalog. The SLC 300 runs the base SLC brake package and accepts a 17 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. The SLC 43 AMG carries a much larger brake than the SLC 300, with the front brake larger than the rear, which is standard on every high output Mercedes-AMG performance variant. The SLC 43 AMG bumps the minimum aftermarket diameter to 19 inch because of the larger AMG caliper height. Both SLC trims are optional staggered fitments in our catalog, meaning the platform was engineered to run either square or staggered depending on customer preference. Factory wheels on the SLC were already staggered with a wider rear, and our measured fitment box covers both layouts on both trims, with separate front and rear width and offset ranges in our catalog.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the SLC trims:
- SLC 300 (2017-2021): 5x112 bolt pattern, 66.56mm hub bore, M14x1.5 lug bolts. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17-20 inch. Aftermarket width: 7.5-8.5 front, 8.5-9.5 rear (optional staggered). Base SLC brake package with same size front and rear brake.
- SLC 43 AMG (2017-2021): 5x112, 66.56mm CB, M14x1.5 lug bolts. Aftermarket diameter range: 19-20 inch. Aftermarket width: 8-8.5 front, 9-9.5 rear (optional staggered). Larger AMG brake package. Front brake larger than rear.
Offset windows are tightly controlled by the SLC brake package, especially on the SLC 43 AMG. For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific SLC trim (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the SLC-Class wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the SLC 300 and the SLC 43 AMG. For the SLC that means clearance from the wheel to the fender on a short wheelbase two seat roadster body, gap between the back of the wheel and the front suspension components, brake caliper height across the base SLC 300 and the larger SLC 43 AMG, hub bore confirmation on the 66.56mm Mercedes hub, and lug bolt seat depth for the M14x1.5 lug bolt. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class?
Every Mercedes-Benz SLC uses 5x112 with a 66.56mm hub bore. That covers both trims (SLC 300 and SLC 43 AMG) across the 2017 through 2020 model years. Lug fastener is M14x1.5, lug bolt style. 5x112 is the Mercedes-Benz family standard pattern. It is NOT the same as 5x114.3 used on most Japanese cars. The two patterns sit roughly 2mm apart and are not interchangeable.
Is the SLC-Class the same car as the SLK-Class?
Yes, mechanically. Mercedes renamed the SLK to SLC for the 2017 model year as part of the R172 facelift to align the roadster with the C-Class platform naming. Same chassis, same bolt pattern (5x112 / 66.56mm), same wheelbase, same body. The 2016 R172 SLK and the 2017 R172 SLC are mechanically the same car under different names. 2016 or earlier is an SLK. 2017 through 2020 is an SLC. See our SLK-Class wheels and rims hub for the pre-2017 fitment.
What replaced the SLC after Mercedes discontinued it?
Nothing direct. Mercedes ended the SLC nameplate after the 2020 model year and has not replaced the compact retractable hardtop roadster in the lineup. Customers cross-shopping for a current Mercedes roadster typically look at the SL-Class, which is a larger and more luxurious two seater on a different chassis. The SLC was the last entry level Mercedes roadster.
Will wheels from a 2016 SLK fit a 2017 SLC?
Same chassis (R172), same bolt pattern (5x112 / 66.56mm), same hub. The wheel will physically bolt up. The one detail to confirm is the lug bolt. The 2016 SLK base trims used M12x1.5 lug bolts and the 2017 SLC stepped up to M14x1.5 across the lineup. If you are moving wheels between cars, you need to confirm the lug bolt thread spec matches the car you are installing on. The wheel hardware swaps. The wheel itself fits.
Can I run staggered wheels on an SLC-Class?
Yes. Both SLC trims in our catalog are optional staggered fitments. Factory wheels on the SLC were already staggered with a wider rear, and the chassis accommodates either layout. Our measured fitment box covers both on the SLC 300 and the SLC 43 AMG, with separate front and rear width and offset ranges in our catalog.
Does the SLC 43 AMG need different wheels than the SLC 300?
Same bolt pattern (5x112 / 66.56mm), but the SLC 43 AMG carries larger brakes and a tighter offset window. The SLC 300 runs a 17 inch minimum aftermarket diameter. The SLC 43 AMG runs a 19 inch minimum because of the larger AMG caliper height. The AMG front brake is larger than the rear, which is standard on a high output Mercedes-AMG variant. A wheel that clears the SLC 300 caliper may not clear the SLC 43 caliper of the same chassis. We track the AMG variant on its own catalog row.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Mercedes-Benz SLC?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than 66.56mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I find the right wheels for my specific Mercedes-Benz SLC?
Confirm your trim (SLC 300 or SLC 43 AMG). Bolt pattern is 5x112 / 66.56mm on both. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific SLC and browse the wheel gallery for real-life builds. If you have an SLC 43 AMG, contact our team for a free fitment consultation before ordering because the brake clearance is tighter than the SLC 300. Every wheel we recommend is backed by the Fitment Guarantee.
