Pontiac G6 Aftermarket Wheel Fitment

The Pontiac G6 is the mid-size car that replaced the Grand Am in Pontiac's lineup, sold from 2005 through 2010 as a sedan, coupe, and retractable hardtop convertible. Element Wheels measures fitment on the 2005-2010 G6, which covers every trim from base through the G6 GXP performance variant. Every G6 in that range shares the same hub: 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lugs. The G6 diameter window runs 17 to 20 inch. Pick the catalog row below.

Find Your Pontiac G6 Generation

The 2005-2010 G6 is the only generation Pontiac built. It ran on GM's Epsilon platform for its full production life. All three body styles (sedan, coupe, retractable hardtop convertible) and every trim from base through GT, GTP, and the G6 GXP share the same hub. Production ended in 2010 with the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand.

The Pontiac G6 Bolt Pattern

The 2005-2010 G6 uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. 5x110 is GM's mid-size Epsilon platform spec from the mid 2000s. The same 5x110 / 65.1mm hub appears on the Epsilon-era Chevrolet Malibu (2004-2012), the Saturn Aura (2007-2010), and the GM Opel/Vauxhall Vectra C sister cars. The bolt circle and hub bore line up across those Epsilon platform cars.

Important distinction: the G6 is 5x110, not 5x115. The Pontiac Grand Prix and Grand Am the G6 replaced used 5x115 on a different hub geometry. Customers who upgraded from a Grand Prix to a G6 cannot reuse their old wheels, and the same applies to the 1999-2005 Grand Am. A 5x115 wheel will not seat correctly on the 5x110 G6 hub, and the difference is enough to stress the studs unevenly and cause wheel wobble over miles. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3. It does not apply to the G6 (5x110), and it does not apply to the older Grand Prix (5x115). Confirm the wheel listing says 5x110 before ordering. Compare across the rest of the Pontiac lineup at our Pontiac wheels and rims hub.

Why G6 Fitment Is Stable Across Every Trim

The G6 kept the same hub geometry across every trim and every body style of every model year. Base, GT, GTP, the G6 GXP performance trim with the 3.6L direct injected V6, the sedan, the coupe, and the retractable hardtop convertible all share the same 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, and brake package on the catalog. The G6 GXP differs from the base G6 in engine output, suspension tuning, and trim, not in wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a base 2007 G6 sedan also fits a 2007 G6 GXP coupe of the same model year.

The diameter window we measure on the G6 runs 17 inch on the low end up to 20 inch on the show-build end. Factory G6 wheels ranged 16 to 18 inch depending on trim. 18 to 19 inch is the most common G6 aftermarket choice for everyday driving. The G6 also has a wider rear width window than front (8 to 10 inch rear, 7 to 8.5 inch front) which makes optional staggered fitments possible for customers who want a more aggressive rear stance. Most G6 customers run square fitment. We measure each variant directly so the catalog reflects what actually clears the fender and the brake, not just what the spec sheet implies.

Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Pontiac G6

Publishable factory and wheel specs across the G6 lineup we cover:

  • 2005-2010 G6 (base, GT, GTP, GXP, sedan, coupe, convertible): 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 17-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7-8.5 inch front, 8-10 inch rear. Square or optional staggered fitment. Same brake size front and rear across every trim.

For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:

  • 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific G6 (each listing shows its own offset).
  • 2. Browse the G6 wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
  • 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.

Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.

How We Confirm Fitment on Pontiac G6 Wheels

Element Wheels measures fitment on the G6 directly, across the base sedan, GT, GTP, the G6 GXP, the coupe, and the retractable hardtop convertible. For the G6 that means hub bore confirmation at 65.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender on a stock-height car, gap between the back of the wheel and the front strut, brake caliper height at the standard Epsilon spec, lug seat depth, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.

Pontiac G6 Wheels and Rims FAQ

What is the bolt pattern on a Pontiac G6?

The 2005-2010 Pontiac G6 uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. Every trim in that range (base, GT, GTP, G6 GXP, sedan, coupe, retractable hardtop convertible) shares the same 5-lug hub geometry.

Does the G6 GXP take different wheels than a base G6?

Same 5x110 bolt pattern, same 65.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread, same brake package as the base G6 of the same model year. Pontiac did not pair the GXP's 3.6L direct injected V6 with an upgraded hub or brake. A wheel that fits a base 2007 G6 sedan also fits a 2007 G6 GXP coupe. The GXP differs from the base car in engine output, suspension tuning, and trim, not in wheel fitment.

Will Pontiac Grand Prix or Grand Am wheels fit a G6?

No. The G6 replaced the Grand Am in 2005 and was sold alongside the Grand Prix until 2008, but Pontiac moved the G6 to a different platform. The W-body Grand Prix (1997-2008) and the N-body Grand Am (1999-2005) both used 5x115 on a 70.3mm hub bore. The G6 sits on GM's Epsilon platform and uses 5x110 on a 65.1mm hub bore. The two bolt patterns are not interchangeable.

Is 5x110 the same as 5x114.3 (the 5x4.5 imperial pattern)?

No. 5x110 and 5x114.3 are different bolt patterns. They sit about 4.3mm apart on the hub circle, which is a much larger gap than the 0.7mm gap between 5x114.3 and 5x115. A 5x114.3 wheel will not start on a 5x110 hub. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the G6. The G6 is 5x110 specifically. Confirm any wheel listing says 5x110 before ordering.

Can I run staggered wheels on a Pontiac G6?

Optional. The G6 is a front wheel drive car so staggered fitment on it is a looks choice, not a performance choice. We measure a wider rear window than front on this platform (8 to 10 inch rear, 7 to 8.5 inch front) which gives customers room to run a more aggressive rear stance if that's the look they want. Most G6 customers run square. Either approach works on this hub.

Will Chevy Malibu or Saturn Aura wheels fit a G6?

Pattern yes, full fitment confirm. The Epsilon-era Chevrolet Malibu (2004-2012) and Saturn Aura (2007-2010) share the 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec with the G6 because they ride on the same GM Epsilon platform. The bolt circle and hub bore line up. Offset windows and fender geometry vary across the three nameplates, so confirm the wheel listing was fit-tested on the G6 specifically or sits inside the offset window we measure for the G6.

What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Pontiac G6?

20 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the 2005-2010 G6. The factory wheel range was 16 to 18 inch depending on trim. 18 to 19 inch is the most common G6 aftermarket choice for everyday driving. 20 inch is the show-build choice. Above 20 inch, the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply on the G6's Epsilon platform suspension.

Do I need hub centric rings on a Pontiac G6?

Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the G6's 65.1mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
