Pontiac Solstice Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Pontiac Solstice is Pontiac's rear wheel drive two-seat roadster, built from 2006 through 2009 on GM's Kappa platform. Element Wheels measures fitment on the 2006-2009 Solstice, which covers the base roadster, the targa coupe variant, and the Solstice GXP turbo. Every Solstice in that range shares the same hub: 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lugs. Important moat note: we no longer offer staggered wheels on the Solstice. The rear axle nut is 37mm long and prevents the centercap from seating correctly on a staggered rear wheel without the wheel sticking out past the fender. We measure square only on this platform. The Solstice diameter window runs 18 to 20 inch. Pick the catalog row below.
Find Your Pontiac Solstice Generation
The 2006-2009 Solstice is the only generation Pontiac built. It ran on GM's Kappa platform for its full production life. Every body style (the convertible roadster from launch and the targa coupe added for 2009) and every trim from base through Solstice GXP turbo share the same hub. Production ended in 2009 with the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand.
The Pontiac Solstice Bolt Pattern
The 2006-2009 Solstice uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. 5x110 is the small-car GM Euro-style pattern from the era. The Kappa platform Saturn Sky (2007-2010) is the Solstice's direct platform twin and uses the same 5x110 / 65.1mm hub. The Opel GT (2007-2010) sold in Europe is the same car as well with the same hub spec. Outside the Kappa family, the 5x110 / 65.1mm hub also appears on the Epsilon-era Pontiac G6, the Chevrolet Malibu (2004-2012), and the Saturn Aura, though those are larger front wheel drive cars with different fender geometry.
Important distinction: the Solstice is 5x110, not 5x114.3. The two are different bolt patterns and sit about 4.3mm apart on the hub circle. A 5x114.3 wheel will not start on a 5x110 hub. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the Solstice. Confirm any wheel listing says 5x110 before ordering. Compare across the rest of the Pontiac lineup at our Pontiac wheels and rims hub.
Why Solstice Fitment Is Square Only
The Solstice keeps the same hub geometry across every trim and body style of every model year. The base 2.4L Ecotec roadster, the Solstice GXP turbo with the 2.0L LNF, the convertible, and the 2009 targa coupe all share the same 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, and brake package on the catalog. The GXP differs from the base car in engine output (turbocharged 260 hp versus 173 hp naturally aspirated), suspension tuning, and trim, not in wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a base 2008 Solstice also fits a 2008 Solstice GXP.
What changes Solstice wheel buying from other small rear wheel drive sports cars is the rear axle nut. The nut sits 37mm proud of the hub face. On a square fitment with our measured offset window, the centercap clears the nut and seats correctly. On a staggered fitment where the rear is wider and the offset moves out, the centercap cannot clear the nut without the wheel sticking out past the fender. We measured this directly. We no longer offer staggered Solstice setups for this reason. The diameter window we measure runs 18 inch on the low end up to 20 inch on the show-build end. 18 inch is the factory size on the GXP and the most common Solstice aftermarket choice for everyday driving.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Pontiac Solstice
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Solstice lineup we cover:
- 2006-2009 Solstice (base 2.4L, GXP turbo 2.0L, convertible, targa coupe): 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-8.5 inch. Square fitment only. Same brake size front and rear across every trim.
- Solstice axle constraint: Rear axle nut sits 37mm proud of the hub face. Centercap clearance prevents staggered fitment without the rear wheel poking past the fender. We do not stock staggered Solstice setups.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Solstice (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Solstice wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Pontiac Solstice Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the Solstice directly, across the base roadster, the Solstice GXP turbo, the convertible, and the 2009 targa coupe. For the Solstice that means hub bore confirmation at 65.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender on a stock-height car, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height at the standard Kappa spec, lug seat depth, lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5, and the rear axle nut clearance check that drives our square-only rule. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. The 37mm rear axle nut on the Solstice is the kind of detail that doesn't show up on a spec sheet but matters once you mount a wheel.
Pontiac Solstice Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Pontiac Solstice?
The 2006-2009 Pontiac Solstice uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. Every trim in that range (base 2.4L Ecotec, Solstice GXP turbo 2.0L LNF, convertible, 2009 targa coupe) shares the same 5-lug hub geometry.
Can I run staggered wheels on a Pontiac Solstice?
We no longer stock staggered Solstice setups. The rear axle nut on the Solstice sits 37mm proud of the hub face. On a staggered fitment where the rear is wider and the offset moves outward, the centercap cannot clear the nut without the wheel sticking past the fender. The car is rear wheel drive so a staggered fitment would otherwise be a reasonable performance choice, but the axle nut geometry prevents it from working cleanly with a centercap installed. We measure square only on this platform: same width and offset front and rear.
Does the Solstice GXP take different wheels than a base Solstice?
Same 5x110 bolt pattern, same 65.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread, same brake package as the base Solstice of the same model year. Pontiac did not pair the GXP's turbocharged 2.0L LNF engine with an upgraded hub or brake. A wheel that fits a base 2008 Solstice also fits a 2008 Solstice GXP. The GXP differs from the base car in engine output, suspension tuning, and the factory wheel package (18 inch on the GXP versus 16 to 18 inch on the base car), not in wheel fitment geometry.
Will Saturn Sky wheels fit a Pontiac Solstice?
Yes, on hub. The Saturn Sky (2007-2010) is the Solstice's direct platform twin on GM's Kappa platform. Same 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec, same brake package, same suspension geometry, and the same 37mm rear axle nut clearance constraint. A wheel that fits a Solstice fits a Sky and vice versa. The Sky also runs square fitment for the same reason the Solstice does.
Is 5x110 the same as 5x114.3?
No. 5x110 and 5x114.3 are different bolt patterns and sit about 4.3mm apart on the hub circle. A 5x114.3 wheel will not start on a 5x110 hub. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the Solstice. Confirm any wheel listing says 5x110 before ordering.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Pontiac Solstice?
20 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the 2006-2009 Solstice. The factory wheel range was 16 to 18 inch (the GXP shipped on an 18 inch factory wheel). 18 inch is the most common Solstice aftermarket choice for everyday driving. 19 to 20 inch is the show-build choice. Above 20 inch, the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply on the Solstice's Kappa platform suspension.
Is the Solstice discontinued?
Yes. The Solstice was discontinued after the 2009 model year along with the rest of the Pontiac brand. Production ended early in 2009 when GM shut the Wilmington plant where the Solstice was built. Our catalog continues to support the 2006-2009 Solstice indefinitely.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Pontiac Solstice?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Solstice's 65.1mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Get Pontiac Solstice Wheels Right the First Time
Pick the catalog row above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure on the 2006-2009 Kappa platform Solstice convertible and targa coupe across the base 2.4L and the Solstice GXP turbo. Square fitment only because of the 37mm rear axle nut. The 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec is shared with the Saturn Sky and the Opel GT. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
