Pontiac Vibe Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Pontiac Vibe is the Pontiac-badged version of the Toyota Matrix, built at the NUMMI joint GM-Toyota assembly plant in Fremont, California from 2003 through 2010. Element Wheels measures fitment on the 2003-2010 Vibe, which covers every trim from base through the Vibe GT performance variant with the 2ZZ-GE 180hp engine, and the Vibe AWD. Every Vibe in that range shares the same hub: 5x100 bolt pattern, 54.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lugs. The Vibe diameter window runs 16 to 18 inch. Pick the catalog row below.
Find Your Pontiac Vibe Generation
Pontiac built two generations of the Vibe. The first generation ran 2003-2008 on the same E120 platform as the Toyota Corolla and Matrix of the same era. The second generation ran 2009-2010 on the updated E140 platform alongside the second generation Matrix. Both generations share the same 5x100 / 54.1mm hub and the same M12x1.5 lug thread. Production ended in 2010 with the discontinuation of the Pontiac brand.
The Pontiac Vibe Bolt Pattern
The 2003-2010 Vibe uses a 5x100 bolt pattern with a 54.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. 5x100 is the Toyota Corolla / Matrix small-platform hub spec from the early 2000s through the late 2000s. The Vibe is the Pontiac-badged Toyota Matrix, so the Vibe shares its hub geometry exactly with the 2003-2008 first generation Matrix and the 2009-2014 second generation Matrix. Wheels that fit a Matrix of the same generation also fit a Vibe of the same generation.
Important distinction: 5x100 is the same circle as the Toyota Corolla, Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ, the older Subaru WRX (2002-2014 non-STI), the Volkswagen Golf and Jetta (Mk4 and Mk5), and the Pontiac Fiero. Bolt pattern matches across all of those platforms. Hub bore does not. The Vibe hub bore is 54.1mm, the same as the Toyota Matrix and the Corolla of the same era. A 5x100 wheel made for a Subaru with a 56.1mm bore will need hub rings to center on a Vibe. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3, not to 5x100, so don't confuse the Vibe's metric 5x100 with the 5x114.3 used on Mustangs, Civics, and many Japanese rear drive platforms. Compare across the rest of the Pontiac lineup at our Pontiac wheels and rims hub.
Why Vibe Fitment Is Stable Across Every Trim
The Vibe kept the same hub geometry across every trim and every body configuration. The base Vibe with the 1.8L 1ZZ-FE four cylinder, the Vibe GT (2003-2006) with the 2ZZ-GE 180hp engine shared with the Toyota Matrix XRS and the Lotus Elise and Exige, the Vibe AWD, and the second generation 2009-2010 Vibe all share the same 5x100 bolt pattern, 54.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, and brake package on the catalog. The GT differs from the base Vibe in engine output, transmission, suspension tuning, and trim, not in wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a 2005 base Vibe also fits a 2005 Vibe GT.
The diameter window we measure on the Vibe runs 16 inch on the low end up to 18 inch on the show-build end. Factory Vibe wheels ranged 15 to 17 inch depending on trim and year. 17 to 18 inch is the most common Vibe aftermarket choice for everyday driving. The Vibe is square fitment, same width front and rear in our measured range (6 to 8 inch), which fits the front wheel drive layout and the wagon body style. We measure each variant directly so the catalog reflects what actually clears the fender and the brake, not just what the spec sheet implies.

How We Confirm Fitment on Pontiac Vibe Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the Vibe directly, across the base car, the GT with the 2ZZ-GE engine, the Vibe AWD, and the second generation 2009-2010 car. For the Vibe that means hub bore confirmation at 54.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender on a stock-height car, gap between the back of the wheel and the front strut, brake caliper height at the small-platform spec, lug seat depth, and lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do.
Pontiac Vibe Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Pontiac Vibe?
The 2003-2010 Pontiac Vibe uses a 5x100 bolt pattern with a 54.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. Every trim and both generations (base, GT with the 2ZZ-GE engine, AWD, 2003-2008 and 2009-2010) share the same 5-lug hub geometry.
Will Toyota Matrix wheels fit a Pontiac Vibe?
Yes. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix are the same car under different badges. Both were built at the NUMMI joint GM-Toyota plant in Fremont, California on the same assembly line, on the same platform, with the same hub. A 2005 Toyota Matrix wheel will fit a 2005 Pontiac Vibe, and a 2009 Matrix wheel will fit a 2009 Vibe. Same 5x100 bolt pattern, same 54.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread. This is one of the few legitimate full-fitment cross-shopping cases in the wheel world, because it's actually the same chassis with two badges.
Does the Vibe GT take different wheels than a base Vibe?
Same 5x100 bolt pattern, same 54.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread, same brake package on the catalog. Pontiac and Toyota did not pair the GT's 2ZZ-GE 180hp engine with an upgraded hub. A wheel that fits a 2005 base Vibe also fits a 2005 Vibe GT. The GT differs from the base car in engine output, transmission, suspension tuning, and trim, not in wheel fitment.
Is 5x100 the same as 5x114.3 (the 5x4.5 imperial pattern)?
No. 5x100 and 5x114.3 are different bolt patterns. They sit about 14.3mm apart on the hub circle, which is a large enough gap that a 5x114.3 wheel will not start on a 5x100 hub. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the Vibe. The Vibe is 5x100 specifically. Confirm any wheel listing says 5x100 before ordering.
Can I run staggered wheels on a Pontiac Vibe?
Square fitment is what we measure on this platform. The Vibe is front wheel drive (the AWD version too), so a stagger would only be a looks choice on this car, and our measured window for the Vibe is square front and rear (6 to 8 inch). For a wider rear visual stance, call our team for a custom fitment consultation.
Will Subaru WRX or Toyota 86 wheels fit a Vibe?
Pattern yes, hub bore needs hub rings. The older Subaru WRX (2002-2014 non-STI) and the Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S share the 5x100 bolt pattern with the Vibe, but they use a 56.1mm hub bore versus the Vibe's 54.1mm hub bore. A 5x100 wheel made for a Subaru with a 56.1mm bore will need hub rings to center properly on a Vibe. Offset windows and fender geometry are also different across these platforms, so confirm the wheel listing was fit-tested on the Vibe specifically.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Pontiac Vibe?
18 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the 2003-2010 Vibe. The factory wheel range was 15 to 17 inch depending on trim. 17 to 18 inch is the most common Vibe aftermarket choice for everyday driving. Above 18 inch, the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply on the Vibe's compact wagon suspension.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Pontiac Vibe?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Vibe's 54.1mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
