The Cayman carries a 5x130 bolt pattern across every generation, the same Porsche flagship pattern used on the 911, Cayenne, and Panamera. The centerbore is 71.5mm on the 987 and 981 generations and 71.6mm on the 718, and every 5-lug Cayman uses M14x1.5 lug bolts threaded into the hub. The 718 GT4 and 718 GT4 RS are the centerlock carve-out, with a single central locking nut and carbon ceramic brakes instead of a five-stud hub. The Porsche Cayman Bolt Pattern (and the GT4 Centerlock Carve-Out)

Every 5-lug Porsche Cayman from the 987 through the current 718 uses 5x130. The hub bore is 71.5mm on the 987 (2005-2012) and 981 (2013-2016) generations and 71.6mm on the 718 (2017 and up). Lug spec is M14x1.5 across every Cayman; Porsche threads the lug bolts directly into the hub instead of running studs and nuts. If your Cayman has five visible bolts on each wheel and you can see the bolt heads sitting flush with the wheel face, it is 5x130. The same 5x130 pattern runs across the rest of the Porsche flagship lineup (911 Carrera, Cayenne, Panamera, and the Macan Electric / 95C from 2024), so a 5x130 wheel bolts to a 5-lug Cayman hub. The pre-2024 Macan ICE (95B, 2014-2024) is the exception: it runs MLB Evo 5x112 / 66.56mm CB and does not share wheels with the 5x130 Porsches. Offset windows differ enough between platforms that we measure Cayman fitments separately even when the bolt math matches.

The 718 GT4 and 718 GT4 RS are the centerlock cars. Instead of five bolts, the GT4 and GT4 RS use Porsche's centerlock wheel interface: a single large central locking nut, a splined hub, and no visible lug studs. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard on the centerlock cars from the factory. A 5x130 wheel built for a 718 Base or 718 S will not bolt onto a 718 GT4 or GT4 RS, and a GT4 centerlock wheel does not transfer to a 5-lug Cayman. This is the most-mistaken spec on the 718 platform: same model year, same body shape, but two completely different wheel interfaces depending on the trim. If you are not sure whether your Cayman is 5-lug or centerlock, look at the front of any wheel: five bolt heads means 5-lug, one large central nut means centerlock.

Why Cayman Trim and Brake Package Drive the Fitment Box

The Cayman is a mid-engine, rear-drive car. Engine mass sits ahead of the rear axle and behind the cabin, which gives the Cayman a more balanced front-rear weight distribution than the 911. That mid-engine layout opens up the fitment options: the 987 base and 987 S support a square or staggered setup (fitment_type 3 in our catalog, meaning optional staggered). From the 981 generation forward, Porsche moved to a wider rear track and our catalog locks the 981 base and the entire 718 line into a true staggered fitment with a wider rear wheel than the front.

Brake size also varies by trim. The S, GTS, GT4, and GT4 RS run a larger front brake package than the base Cayman, with the front brake larger than the rear (which is normal on a performance car of this caliber, with the front axle handling the majority of the braking load). The 718 Base and 718 S / GTS share a steel-brake package with a larger rear caliper than the 987 generation carried, so our 718 catalog rows reflect a tighter rear-offset window than the 987 fitment. The GT4 and GT4 RS step up to carbon ceramic brakes as standard equipment, paired with the centerlock interface. We measure the front and rear caliper clearance separately on each Cayman trim, which is why our catalog separates Base from S / GTS even within the same generation.
