Saturn Sky Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Saturn Sky is Saturn's rear wheel drive two-seat roadster, built from 2007 through 2009 on GM's Kappa platform. Element Wheels measures fitment on the 2007-2009 Sky, which covers the base 2.4L Ecotec roadster and the Sky Red Line turbo. Every Sky in that range shares the same hub: 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lugs. Important moat note: we no longer offer staggered wheels on the Sky. The rear axle nut on the Kappa platform sits 37mm proud of the hub face and prevents the centercap from seating correctly on a staggered rear wheel without the wheel poking past the fender. We measure square only on this platform. The Sky diameter window runs 18 to 20 inch. Pick the catalog row below.
Find Your Saturn Sky Generation
The 2007-2009 Sky is the only generation Saturn built. It ran on GM's Kappa platform for its full production life. Both trims (base 2.4L roadster and Sky Red Line with the turbocharged 2.0L LNF) share the same hub. Production ended early in 2009 when GM wound the Saturn brand down.
The Saturn Sky Bolt Pattern
The 2007-2009 Sky uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. 5x110 is the small-car GM Euro-style pattern from the era. The Kappa platform Pontiac Solstice (2006-2009) is the Sky's direct platform twin and uses the same 5x110 / 65.1mm hub. The Opel GT (2007-2010) sold in Europe is the same car as well with the same hub spec. Outside the Kappa family, the 5x110 / 65.1mm hub also appears on the Epsilon Saturn Aura, the Pontiac G6, and the Chevrolet Malibu of the same era, though those are larger front wheel drive cars with different fender geometry.
Important distinction: the Sky is 5x110, and is not the same as 5x114.3. The two are different bolt patterns and sit about 4.3mm apart on the hub circle. A 5x114.3 wheel will not start on a 5x110 hub. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the Sky. Confirm any wheel listing says 5x110 before ordering. Compare across the rest of the Saturn lineup at our Saturn wheels and rims hub.
Why Saturn Sky Fitment Is Square Only
The Sky keeps the same hub geometry across every trim and model year. The base 2.4L Ecotec roadster and the Sky Red Line with the turbocharged 2.0L LNF share the same 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, and brake package on the catalog. The Red Line differs from the base car in engine output (turbocharged 260 hp versus 173 hp naturally aspirated), suspension tuning, and trim, not in wheel fitment. A wheel that fits a base 2008 Sky also fits a 2008 Sky Red Line.
What changes Sky wheel buying from other small rear wheel drive roadsters is the rear axle nut. On the Kappa platform the nut sits 37mm proud of the hub face. On a square fitment with our measured offset window, the centercap clears the nut and seats correctly. On a staggered fitment where the rear is wider and the offset moves outward, the centercap cannot clear the nut without the wheel sticking past the fender. We measured this directly on the Kappa chassis. We no longer offer staggered Sky setups for this reason. The diameter window we measure runs 18 inch on the low end up to 20 inch on the show-build end. 18 inch is the factory size on the Red Line and the most common Sky aftermarket choice for everyday driving.
Element Wheels Measured Aftermarket Fitment, Saturn Sky
Publishable factory and wheel specs across the Sky lineup we cover:
- 2007-2009 Sky (base 2.4L, Red Line turbo 2.0L): 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm hub bore, M12x1.5 lug thread, 5 lug. Element aftermarket diameter range: 18-20 inch. Aftermarket width range: 7.5-8.5 inch. Square fitment only. Same brake size front and rear across every trim.
- Sky axle constraint (Kappa platform): Rear axle nut sits 37mm proud of the hub face. Centercap clearance prevents staggered fitment without the rear wheel poking past the fender. We do not stock staggered Sky setups.
For your exact aftermarket offset, three options:
- 1. Use our Year/Make/Model search to see wheels that fit your specific Sky (each listing shows its own offset).
- 2. Browse the Sky wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Saturn Sky Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the Sky directly, across the base roadster and the Sky Red Line turbo. For the Sky that means hub bore confirmation at 65.1mm, clearance from the wheel to the fender on a stock-height car, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height at the standard Kappa spec, lug seat depth, lug thread confirmation at M12x1.5, and the rear axle nut clearance check that drives our square-only rule. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. The 37mm rear axle nut on the Kappa platform is the kind of detail that doesn't show up on a spec sheet but matters once you mount a wheel.
Saturn Sky Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Saturn Sky?
The 2007-2009 Saturn Sky uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm hub bore and an M12x1.5 lug thread. Every trim in that range (base 2.4L Ecotec roadster and Sky Red Line turbo 2.0L LNF) shares the same 5-lug hub geometry.
Can I run staggered wheels on a Saturn Sky?
We no longer stock staggered Sky setups. The rear axle nut on the Kappa platform sits 37mm proud of the hub face. On a staggered fitment where the rear is wider and the offset moves outward, the centercap cannot clear the nut without the wheel sticking past the fender. The car is rear wheel drive so a staggered fitment would otherwise be a reasonable performance choice, but the axle nut geometry prevents it from working cleanly with a centercap installed. We measure square only on this platform: same width and offset front and rear.
Does the Sky Red Line take different wheels than a base Sky?
Same 5x110 bolt pattern, same 65.1mm hub bore, same M12x1.5 lug thread, same brake package as the base Sky of the same model year. Saturn did not pair the Red Line's turbocharged 2.0L LNF engine with an upgraded hub or brake. A wheel that fits a base 2008 Sky also fits a 2008 Sky Red Line. The Red Line differs from the base car in engine output, suspension tuning, and the factory wheel package (18 inch on the Red Line versus 17 to 18 inch on the base car), not in wheel fitment geometry.
Will Pontiac Solstice wheels fit a Saturn Sky?
Yes, on hub. The Pontiac Solstice (2006-2009) is the Sky's direct platform twin on GM's Kappa platform. Same 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec, same brake package, same suspension geometry, and the same 37mm rear axle nut clearance constraint. A wheel that fits a Solstice fits a Sky and vice versa. The Solstice also runs square fitment for the same reason the Sky does.
Is 5x110 the same as 5x114.3?
No. 5x110 and 5x114.3 are different bolt patterns and sit about 4.3mm apart on the hub circle. A 5x114.3 wheel will not start on a 5x110 hub. The 5x4.5 imperial nickname refers only to 5x114.3 (114.3mm equals 4.5 inch) and does not apply to the Sky. Confirm any wheel listing says 5x110 before ordering.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Saturn Sky?
20 inch is the top of our measured aftermarket window on the 2007-2009 Sky. The factory wheel range was 17 to 18 inch (the Red Line shipped on an 18 inch factory wheel). 18 inch is the most common Sky aftermarket choice for everyday driving. 19 to 20 inch is the show-build choice. Above 20 inch, the tire sidewall thins enough that ride quality drops sharply on the Sky's Kappa platform suspension.
Is the Saturn Sky discontinued?
Yes. The Sky was discontinued after the 2009 model year along with the rest of the Saturn brand. Production ended early in 2009 when GM wound the Saturn brand down. Our catalog continues to support the 2007-2009 Sky indefinitely.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Saturn Sky?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the Sky's 65.1mm factory hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Get Saturn Sky Wheels Right the First Time
Pick the catalog row above to see wheels and rims that fit. We measure on the 2007-2009 Kappa platform Sky roadster across the base 2.4L and the Sky Red Line turbo. Square fitment only because of the 37mm rear axle nut. The 5x110 / 65.1mm hub spec is shared with the Pontiac Solstice and the Opel GT. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
