Scion iM Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Scion iM is the 2016-only compact hatchback that closed out the Scion brand in the US market alongside the iA sedan. Underneath the badge it is a Toyota Auris (E180 chassis), the global-market Toyota that was already on sale in Europe, Asia, and Australia. After the Scion brand was retired the same car continued in the US as the 2017-2018 Toyota Corolla iM and then became the Toyota Corolla Hatchback for the 2019 model year and forward. The iM uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore, five lugs, M12x1.5 thread pitch, and runs a 17-20 inch diameter window with 7-8 inch widths square front and rear. Brake hardware is matched front and rear. The car is front-wheel-drive and uses a square fitment. Pick your year below and the recommendations follow.
Find Your Scion iM
The Scion iM was sold in the US for one model year only. If your car is a 2017 or later with the same hatchback body, it is a Toyota Corolla iM or Toyota Corolla Hatchback, not a Scion. The wheel fitment is the same across the badge change, but the listings live under the Toyota make in our catalog.
The Scion iM Bolt Pattern
The Scion iM uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. This is the mainstream Toyota bolt pattern, shared with the Toyota Corolla, Camry, Avalon, RAV4, the 2nd generation Scion xB, and the 2nd generation Scion tC. The iM sits on the Toyota Auris (E180 chassis) underneath, so the wheel hardware lines up with the rest of the Toyota family from that era. In imperial terms 5x114.3 is sometimes written as 5x4.5 (4.5 inch bolt circle = 114.3mm). Both notations refer to the same pattern.
Important to flag: 5x114.3 is NOT the same as 5x115 or 5x110. The lug count is five on all three, but the bolt circle diameter is different (114.3mm vs 115mm vs 110mm). A wheel labeled 5x115 (Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300) will not bolt to the iM, even though the lug count matches. Hub bore on the iM is 60.1mm. Thread pitch is M12x1.5. Compare across the rest of the Scion lineup at our Scion wheels and rims hub.
Why the Scion iM is a Toyota Corolla Underneath
The Scion iM is a Toyota Auris (E180 generation), the global-market hatchback that Toyota had already been selling outside the US for years. When Toyota brought the car to the US for the 2016 model year, the Scion brand was the channel. The chassis, suspension, engine (the 1.8L 2ZR-FE four-cylinder), and wheel hardware are all Toyota. The iM was built in Toyota's Tsutsumi plant in Japan and shipped to the US. When the Scion brand was retired at the end of 2016, the same car carried over to Toyota dealers as the 2017-2018 Toyota Corolla iM, and then became the Toyota Corolla Hatchback for 2019 and forward. The wheel fitment did not change across the badge transitions.
Cross-shop implication. If you have a Scion iM, wheels that fit a 2017-2018 Toyota Corolla iM or a 2019+ Toyota Corolla Hatchback at the same diameter and width will share lug math and hub centering. Wheels that fit a same-era Toyota Camry, Avalon, RAV4, or 2nd generation Scion xB / tC will also share lug math and hub centering because all of them run 5x114.3 / 60.1mm. Width and offset still need to be checked against the iM body specifically because each platform has its own fender geometry and brake clearance.

How We Confirm Fitment on Scion iM Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the Scion iM. For the iM that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation at 60.1mm, and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support, including the Auris / iM / Corolla iM / Corolla Hatchback family that shares this hardware. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the 17-20 inch diameter range and the 7-8 inch width range on the iM, along with the square-only fitment guidance.
Scion iM Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Scion iM?
The 2016 Scion iM uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. Lug count is five, thread pitch is M12x1.5. In imperial terms the same pattern is sometimes written as 5x4.5 (4.5 inch bolt circle equals 114.3mm). It is the mainstream Toyota bolt pattern, shared with the Corolla, Camry, Avalon, RAV4, and the 2nd generation Scion xB and tC.
What is the hub bore on a Scion iM?
The Scion iM hub bore is 60.1mm. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Is the Scion iM really a Toyota Corolla?
Yes. The Scion iM is a Toyota Auris (E180 chassis), the global-market hatchback that Toyota had been selling outside the US. When the Scion brand was retired at the end of 2016, the same car carried over to Toyota dealers as the 2017-2018 Toyota Corolla iM, and then became the Toyota Corolla Hatchback for the 2019 model year and forward. Toyota did not change the bolt pattern, hub bore, or brake clearance for the badge changes.
Will Toyota Corolla or Toyota Camry wheels fit a Scion iM?
For lug math and hub centering, yes. The 2016 Scion iM, 2017-2018 Toyota Corolla iM, 2019+ Toyota Corolla Hatchback, same-era Toyota Camry, Avalon, RAV4, and the 2nd generation Scion xB and tC all run 5x114.3 / 60.1mm. A wheel from any of those will share the bolt pattern and hub bore. Width and offset still need to be confirmed against the iM body specifically because each platform has its own fender geometry and brake clearance.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Scion iM?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on the iM. The full range is 17-20 inch with 7-8 inch widths square front and rear. Above 20 inch the tire sidewall gets too thin for a daily-driver hatchback where ride quality matters.
Can I run staggered wheels on a Scion iM?
We recommend square on the iM. The car is front-wheel-drive, the factory setup is square, and our measured aftermarket window keeps front and rear width matched (7-8 inch on both axles). A square setup also keeps tire rotation possible across all four corners.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Scion iM?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the iM's 60.1mm hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
Why was the Scion iM sold for only one year?
Toyota retired the Scion brand at the end of the 2016 model year. The iM was one of the last cars introduced under the Scion badge, and when the brand wound down the same car carried over to Toyota dealers as the 2017-2018 Toyota Corolla iM, and later the Toyota Corolla Hatchback. The Scion iM exists for the 2016 model year only.
Get Scion iM Wheels Right the First Time
The 2016 Scion iM is a one-year-only car that shares its hardware with the rest of the modern Toyota family, which is good news for wheel buyers because the bolt pattern is well supported. We measure on this platform, confirm the 5x114.3 / 60.1mm spec on every listing, and keep the aftermarket window honest about ride quality and brake clearance. Find your fit and start enjoying your build sooner.
