Scion tC Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Scion tC is the front-drive sport coupe Scion sold in the US market from 2005 through 2016, when Toyota retired the Scion brand. The car ran two generations on two different Toyota platforms, and the bolt pattern changed between them. The 1st generation tC (2005-2010, ANT10 chassis) is built on the Toyota Avensis platform and runs 5x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation tC (2011-2016, AGT20 chassis) moved to a stretched Toyota MC platform shared with the Camry family and runs 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. The two generations do NOT share wheels. Lug count is five on both generations, thread pitch is M12x1.5 throughout, and brake hardware is matched front and rear on every tC. Pick your tC generation below and the wheel and rim recommendations follow.
Find Your Scion tC Generation
Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific tC. Bolt pattern shifts at the 2011 model year (5x100 to 5x114.3) and the hub bore shifts at the same time (54.1mm to 60.1mm). Wheels from the 1st generation tC do not fit the 2nd generation tC and the other way around. Confirm your model year before shopping.
The Scion tC Bolt Pattern
The Scion tC went through one bolt pattern change in its 11-year US production run. From 2005 through 2010 (1st generation tC on the ANT10 chassis) the tC used 5x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore. That spec is shared with the Toyota Corolla of the same era, the 1st generation Scion xD, and the 1st generation Scion xB, so cross-shop options open up in that direction. From 2011 through 2016 (2nd generation tC on the AGT20 chassis) the tC moved to 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. That is the mainstream Toyota bolt pattern shared with the Camry, the 2nd generation xB, the Avalon, and most of the rest of the Toyota lineup of the era.
Important to flag clearly: 5x100 and 5x114.3 are NOT the same pattern. The lug count is the same (five) but the bolt circle diameter is different (100mm vs 114.3mm). A 1st generation tC wheel will not bolt onto a 2nd generation tC, and a 2nd generation tC wheel will not bolt onto a 1st generation tC. The hub bore also shifted between the generations (54.1mm to 60.1mm), so even if a wheel hardware-matched, the centering would not. Confirm your tC model year before buying. Thread pitch is M12x1.5 on both generations. Compare across the rest of the Scion lineup at our Scion wheels and rims hub.
Why the tC Bolt Pattern Changed Between Generations
The 1st generation tC was built on the Toyota Avensis platform, which Toyota used for compact and mid-compact cars in markets outside the US. The Avensis underpinnings carried the 5x100 / 54.1mm wheel spec common to the Toyota Corolla and other compact-class Toyotas of that era. When Toyota replaced the tC platform in 2011, the 2nd generation moved to the Toyota MC platform shared with the Camry and larger Toyota family, and the wheel hardware moved up to match: 5x114.3 / 60.1mm, which is also what the Camry, Avalon, RAV4, and the 2nd generation Scion xB carry. The tC stayed front-drive across both generations, brake hardware stayed matched front and rear, and the diameter window moved up half a step as the platform grew (17-20 inch on the 1st generation, 18-20 inch on the 2nd generation).
Cross-shop implication. If you have a 1st generation tC (2005-2010), wheels that fit a 2005-2010 Toyota Corolla, a 1st generation Scion xD, or a 1st generation Scion xB at the same diameter and width will share lug math and hub centering. If you have a 2nd generation tC (2011-2016), wheels that fit a Toyota Camry or 2nd generation Scion xB of the same era will share lug math and hub centering. Width and offset still need to be checked against the tC specifically because the tC body and suspension geometry differs from the related Toyota platforms.

- 2. Browse the tC wheel gallery for real-life builds with size, offset, and tire spec captions.
- 3. Call or chat with our team for a free fitment consultation.
Every wheel we recommend is backed by our Fitment Guarantee. If a wheel does not fit, we pick up the wheels and refund 100 percent. No risk to you.
How We Confirm Fitment on Scion tC Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the tC across both generations. For the tC that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation (54.1mm on the 1st generation, 60.1mm on the 2nd generation), and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the 17-20 inch range on the 1st generation and the 18-20 inch range on the 2nd generation, along with the square-only fitment guidance on both.
Scion tC Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Scion tC?
It depends on the generation. The 1st generation tC (2005-2010) uses 5x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation tC (2011-2016) moved to 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. Thread pitch is M12x1.5 on both generations. Confirm your model year before buying because the two generations do NOT share wheels.
Do 1st generation tC wheels fit a 2nd generation tC?
No. The 1st generation tC is 5x100 / 54.1mm and the 2nd generation tC is 5x114.3 / 60.1mm. Both bolt pattern and hub bore are different across the generation break. Lug count is the same (five) but the bolt circle diameter is different (100mm vs 114.3mm), so the wheels do not cross. This is the most common cross-shopping mistake on the tC.
Will Toyota Corolla or Toyota Camry wheels fit a Scion tC?
For the 1st generation tC (2005-2010), a 2005-2010 Toyota Corolla wheel will share lug math and hub centering (both run 5x100 / 54.1mm). For the 2nd generation tC (2011-2016), a same-era Toyota Camry or Avalon wheel will share lug math and hub centering (both run 5x114.3 / 60.1mm). Width and offset still need to be confirmed against the tC body specifically. A wheel from a different generation of tC or a different bolt pattern Toyota will not fit.
What is the hub bore on a Scion tC?
The 1st generation tC (2005-2010) runs a 54.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation tC (2011-2016) runs a 60.1mm hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I tell which tC generation I have?
By model year. A 2005-2010 tC is the 1st generation (ANT10 chassis) and runs 5x100. A 2011-2016 tC is the 2nd generation (AGT20 chassis) and runs 5x114.3. If you are still not sure, our team can identify your generation from your VIN.
Can I run staggered wheels on a Scion tC?
We recommend square on the tC. The car is front-wheel-drive across both generations, both gens shipped square from the factory, and our measured aftermarket window keeps front and rear width matched (7-8 inch on the 1st generation, 7-8.5 inch on the 2nd generation). A square setup also keeps tire rotation possible across all four corners.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Scion tC?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on both generations. The full range is 17-20 inch on the 1st generation tC and 18-20 inch on the 2nd generation tC. Above 20 inch the tire sidewall gets too thin for a daily-driver coupe where ride quality matters.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Scion tC?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the tC's hub bore (54.1mm on the 1st generation, 60.1mm on the 2nd generation). If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
