Scion xB Aftermarket Wheel Fitment
The Scion xB is the boxy compact wagon Scion sold in the US market from 2004 through 2015, when Toyota retired the Scion brand. The xB ran two generations on two different Toyota platforms, and the wheel hardware changed substantially between them. The 1st generation xB (2004-2007, NCP31 chassis) is the same car as the Japan-market Toyota bB and runs a 4-lug 4x100 pattern with a 54.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation xB (2008-2015, AZE151 chassis) is built on a stretched Toyota Corolla platform and moved to a 5-lug 5x114.3 pattern with a 60.1mm hub bore. Lug count, bolt pattern, and hub bore are all different between the two generations. Thread pitch is M12x1.5 on both. Brake hardware is matched front and rear across the lineup. Pick your xB generation below and the wheel and rim recommendations follow.
Find Your Scion xB Generation
Pick your year range to see wheels and rims that fit your specific xB. Lug count shifts from 4-lug to 5-lug at the 2008 model year. Bolt pattern shifts from 4x100 to 5x114.3 at the same time. Hub bore shifts from 54.1mm to 60.1mm at the same time. Wheels from the 1st generation xB do not fit the 2nd generation xB in any direction. Confirm your model year before shopping.
The Scion xB Bolt Pattern
The Scion xB went through one of the more dramatic bolt-pattern changes in the Scion lineup. From 2004 through 2007 (1st generation xB on the NCP31 chassis) the xB used a 4-lug 4x100 pattern with a 54.1mm hub bore. The same spec is shared with the Toyota bB (the Japan-market version of the same car), the 1st generation Scion xA, and a number of compact-class Toyota and other 4-lug Japanese cars of that era. From 2008 through 2015 (2nd generation xB on the AZE151 chassis) the xB moved to a 5-lug 5x114.3 pattern with a 60.1mm hub bore. That is the mainstream Toyota bolt pattern shared with the Camry, the 2nd generation tC, the Avalon, the RAV4, and most of the rest of the Toyota lineup of the era.
Important to flag clearly: the lug count itself changes between the two xB generations (4-lug to 5-lug), so the wheels do not cross in any direction. The bolt circle, hub bore, and stud count are all different. Thread pitch is M12x1.5 on both generations. Compare across the rest of the Scion lineup at our Scion wheels and rims hub.
Why the xB Bolt Pattern and Lug Count Changed Between Generations
The 1st generation xB was a US-market rebadge of the Japan-market Toyota bB, a compact city car with a small-displacement engine. The 4-lug 4x100 wheel hardware was the standard 4-lug compact-class Toyota spec of the era and matched the curb weight and power output of the car. When Toyota replaced the xB platform in 2008, the 2nd generation grew substantially. The new xB sits on a stretched Toyota Corolla platform with a larger 2.4L four-cylinder, more curb weight, and a longer wheelbase. The wheel hardware moved up to match: 5-lug 5x114.3 / 60.1mm, the same spec the Camry and the 2nd generation tC use. The change is what you would expect when a car grows from a sub-2,500 pound city car to a 3,000 pound mid-compact wagon.
Cross-shop implication. If you have a 1st generation xB (2004-2007), wheels that fit a Toyota bB, a 1st generation Scion xA, or a same-era 4-lug Toyota compact at the same diameter and width will share lug math and hub centering. If you have a 2nd generation xB (2008-2015), wheels that fit a Toyota Camry, a 2nd generation Scion tC, or a same-era Toyota Avalon will share lug math and hub centering. Width and offset still need to be checked against the xB specifically because the body and suspension geometry differs from the related Toyota platforms.

How We Confirm Fitment on Scion xB Wheels
Element Wheels measures fitment on the platforms we sell wheels for, including the xB across both generations. For the xB that means clearance from the wheel to the fender, gap between the back of the wheel and the suspension, brake caliper height, hub bore confirmation (54.1mm on the 1st generation, 60.1mm on the 2nd generation), lug-count confirmation (4-lug on the 1st generation, 5-lug on the 2nd generation), and turning clearance with the wheel and tire installed. At our fitment facility in Chandler, Arizona, the Element Wheels team measures directly on the physical platforms we support. We don't pull specs from manufacturer sheets the way most retailers do. That measurement work is what produced the diameter and width windows on this page, and why we keep the two generations separated by default rather than treating them as one platform.
Scion xB Wheels and Rims FAQ
What is the bolt pattern on a Scion xB?
It depends on the generation. The 1st generation xB (2004-2007) is 4-lug and uses 4x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation xB (2008-2015) is 5-lug and uses 5x114.3 with a 60.1mm hub bore. Lug count, bolt pattern, and hub bore all change across the generation break. Thread pitch is M12x1.5 on both.
Do 1st generation xB wheels fit a 2nd generation xB?
No. The 1st generation xB is 4-lug 4x100 / 54.1mm. The 2nd generation xB is 5-lug 5x114.3 / 60.1mm. The stud count itself is different (4 versus 5), so the wheels cannot cross in any direction. This is the biggest cross-shopping mistake on the xB. The car looks similar across the generations from a distance, but the wheel hardware is completely different.
Will Toyota Camry or Toyota Corolla wheels fit a Scion xB?
For the 2nd generation xB (2008-2015), yes in lug math. The 2nd gen xB shares 5x114.3 / 60.1mm with the Toyota Camry, the Toyota Avalon, and the 2nd generation Toyota Corolla of the same era. Width and offset still need to be checked against the xB body specifically. For the 1st generation xB (2004-2007), the lug count is different (4-lug versus 5-lug on those Toyota cars), so no.
What is the hub bore on a Scion xB?
The 1st generation xB (2004-2007) runs a 54.1mm hub bore. The 2nd generation xB (2008-2015) runs a 60.1mm hub bore. If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
How do I tell which xB generation I have?
Quickest way: count the lug studs on one wheel. 4 studs means a 1st generation xB (2004-2007). 5 studs means a 2nd generation xB (2008-2015). You can also tell by size. The 1st gen xB is a smaller, taller, narrower city car with a 1.5L engine. The 2nd gen xB is substantially larger with a 2.4L engine and longer wheelbase. If you are still not sure, our team can identify your generation from your VIN.
Can I run staggered wheels on a Scion xB?
We recommend square on the xB. The car is front-wheel-drive across both generations, both gens shipped square from the factory, and our measured aftermarket window keeps front and rear width matched. A staggered look on a front-wheel-drive wagon does not pay off the way it does on a rear-wheel-drive sedan, and square keeps tire rotation possible across all four corners.
What is the largest wheel I can fit on a Scion xB?
Our measured aftermarket window tops at 20 inch on both generations. The full range is 15-20 inch on the 1st generation xB and 16-20 inch on the 2nd generation xB. The 1st gen xB is one of the smaller cars in our catalog to support 20 inch, and at that diameter the tire sidewall gets very thin.
Do I need hub centric rings on a Scion xB?
Hub centric rings only when the aftermarket wheel has a centerbore larger than the xB's hub bore (54.1mm on the 1st generation, 60.1mm on the 2nd generation). If your fitment needs rings, they'll be included with the order.
