The Toyota 86 is the rear-drive naturally aspirated sport coupe Toyota sold in the US market from 2017 through 2020. It is the direct successor to the Scion FR-S (2013-2016), produced on the same ZN6/ZC6 chassis after Toyota retired the Scion brand. The car continued under the GR86 name starting in 2022 on a new 2nd generation ZN8 chassis. The 1st generation 86 platform is Toyota and Subaru co-developed, with Subaru building the cars in Japan. The Subaru BRZ is the same chassis with a different badge. That is why the 86 wheel hardware reads more like a Subaru than a typical Toyota: 5x100 bolt pattern, 56.1mm hub bore, and M12x1.25 thread pitch on permanent wheel studs. Most Toyota cars run 5x114.3 with M12x1.5 thread, so a wheel set built for a Camry or a Corolla will not bolt to an 86. The Toyota 86 Bolt Pattern

Every Toyota 86 (2017-2020) uses a 5x100 bolt pattern with a 56.1mm hub bore. Lug count is five, thread pitch is M12x1.25 on permanent wheel studs. The same spec carries over from the predecessor Scion FR-S (2013-2016), to the Subaru BRZ ZC6 (2013-2020), and continues on the 2nd generation Toyota GR86 (2022 and up) and Subaru BRZ ZD8. Toyota's standard car bolt pattern is 5x114.3 (Camry, Corolla, Highlander, RAV4, and most of the rest of the lineup), but the 86 is built on Subaru hardware and carries Subaru spec instead. That distinction matters: wheels listed for a Camry or a Corolla at 5x114.3 / 60.1mm will NOT fit an 86.

Critical spec callout: the 86 lug-nut thread pitch is M12x1.25, NOT M12x1.5. Most Toyota cars use M12x1.5. The 86 carries the Subaru smaller pitch because the platform is Subaru-engineered. M12x1.5 lug nuts will physically thread onto an 86 stud but the engagement will be loose and is not safe at torque. Confirm your lug nuts are M12x1.25 before mounting aftermarket wheels. Also worth noting clearly: 5x100 is NOT the same as 5x114.3. Both are 5-lug, but the bolt circle diameter is different (100mm vs 114.3mm). A 5x100 wheel will not fit a 5x114.3 hub and vice versa. Same Chassis as the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S

The Toyota 86, the Subaru BRZ, and the Scion FR-S are all the same ZN6/ZC6 chassis. Toyota and Subaru co-developed the platform. Subaru manufactures the cars in Japan and ships them with the appropriate front badge depending on which brand is selling the car in which market. The Scion FR-S launched the platform in 2013. The car was rebadged as the Toyota 86 in 2017 when Scion was retired in the US market. It became the GR86 in 2022 alongside the 2nd generation Subaru BRZ on a new ZN8 chassis. Across the 1st generation cars (FR-S 2013-2016, Toyota 86 2017-2020, Subaru BRZ 2013-2020), the wheel and brake hardware is essentially identical. If a wheel fits a 2018 Subaru BRZ, it also fits a 2018 Toyota 86. Practical implication when cross-shopping: a wheel cataloged for the 1st generation Subaru BRZ (ZC6, 2013-2020) or the Scion FR-S (2013-2016) at the same diameter and width spec will fit the 86 the same way. The 2nd generation BRZ (ZD8) and the Toyota GR86 (2022 and up) added a 20 inch diameter option that was not part of the 1st generation 86 fitment window. Stick to the 17 to 19 inch range for the 2017-2020 86.
