The Toyota Corolla is the best-selling car nameplate in the world and one of the highest-volume aftermarket wheel platforms in our catalog. The mainline Corolla sedan and hatchback transitioned from a 4-lug to a 5-lug pattern at the 2003 model year. From 1991 through 2002 the Corolla ran 4x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore. Starting in 2003 and continuing through every generation since, including the current Corolla (2020 and up), the mainline sedan and hatch runs 5x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore. The Corolla family also includes three derivatives that run a different 5x114.3 pattern with a 60.1mm hub bore: the GR Corolla (the AWD performance car, 2022 and up), the Corolla Cross (the crossover, 2022 and up), and the Corolla iM (the Scion iM rebadge, 2017-2018 only). The GR and the Cross are not the same chassis as the sedan and do not share wheels with it. The bolt pattern transition to confirm is at 2003 on the mainline sedan and hatch: 1991-2002 Corollas run 4x100, and every 2003-and-newer sedan and hatch runs 5x100. The GR Corolla, the Corolla Cross, and the 2017-2018 Corolla iM are separate platforms that run 5x114.3, not 5x100.

The Toyota Corolla Bolt Pattern

The mainline Corolla sedan and hatchback ran 4x100 with a 54.1mm hub bore from 1991 through 2002. The 4x100 pattern is the Japanese compact-car standard of that era and is shared with the contemporary Honda Civic, Mazda Protege, and a long list of other 1990s and early 2000s economy cars. Lug spec was M12x1.5. Starting in 2003 the Corolla moved to 5x100 with the same 54.1mm hub bore. The 5x100 pattern carried through 2008, 2013, 2019, and is still the spec on the current 2020-and-newer Corolla. M12x1.5 lugs throughout. The Corolla, the Matrix, the Prius (most generations), and several Subaru models share the 5x100 / 54.1mm pattern.

Three Corolla derivatives run a different 5x114.3 pattern with a 60.1mm hub bore. The Corolla iM (2017-2018) was the Scion iM rebadged into the Toyota lineup after Scion was wound down. It kept the Scion iM's 5x114.3 / 60.1mm spec rather than adopting the mainline Corolla's 5x100. The GR Corolla (2022 and up) is the AWD turbocharged performance Corolla built on a stiffer chassis with bigger brakes, and it runs 5x114.3 / 60.1mm. The Corolla Cross (2022 and up) is the crossover derivative built on the TNGA-C platform with a different track width and ride height than the sedan, and it also runs 5x114.3 / 60.1mm. The 5x114.3 pattern is also called 5x4.5 (114.3 millimeters is exactly 4.5 inches) and is the most common American compact and midsize pattern. The 5x114.3 / 5x4.5 pattern is distinct from 5x115. Why the GR Corolla and Corolla Cross Need Their Own Fitment Rows

Three vehicles in the Corolla family share the name but not the underlying car. The mainline Corolla sedan and hatch is the high-volume commuter platform on 5x100. The GR Corolla is a different car with a different drivetrain, a different chassis tune, and a different bolt pattern. It runs AWD, a 1.6L turbo three-cylinder, a six-speed manual on every US trim, and substantially larger brake packages than the base Corolla. The GR's larger front brake hardware tightens the inside-of-the-spoke clearance window and customers buying aftermarket wheels for a GR need to confirm that selection against the GR's specific brake package, not the base Corolla's.

The Corolla Cross is the third derivative. It is the crossover SUV positioned above the sedan in the lineup, on the TNGA-C platform shared with the Toyota C-HR (international markets) and the Lexus UX. Different ride height, different track width, different fender geometry, and the 5x114.3 / 60.1mm spec. A wheel that fits a 2020 Corolla sedan will not fit a Corolla Cross because the bolt pattern is different. The Corolla iM occupies the same space historically: a Scion iM rebadge that Toyota brought into the Corolla family for the 2017 and 2018 model years before discontinuing it. Same 5x114.3 / 60.1mm bolt pattern as the Cross and the GR.
