The battery pack sits in the floor, the curb weight runs heavier than a comparable gas crossover, and the load rating you choose on the tire side matters more than it would on a Tiguan. The ID.4 is a square (non-staggered) fitment from the factory and the most common aftermarket setup is also square, but the ID.4 catalog row supports an optional staggered fitment for builders who want the wider rear stance.

The Volkswagen ID.4 Bolt Pattern

Every Volkswagen ID.4 in our active catalog uses 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The 5x112 / 57.1mm spec is the same passenger-car interface used across the modern VW Group lineup including the Golf, GTI, Tiguan, Passat, Atlas, and the smaller Audi cars. VW runs lug bolts on the ID.4, not lug studs and nuts the way most American and Asian crossovers do. The lug bolt threads directly into the hub, the wheel sits between the head of the bolt and the hub face, and there is no fixed lug stud to align the wheel before tightening. This makes a hub-centric fit more important on the ID.4 than on a stud-and-nut crossover. The ID.4 is also a heavy EV (the battery pack lives in the floor and adds curb weight over a comparable gas crossover), so the load rating on the aftermarket wheel and tire combination matters more than it would on a Tiguan of similar dimensions.

The ID.4 rides on the VW Group MEB platform, which is the dedicated electric architecture also used by the Audi Q4 e-tron and the Skoda Enyaq. Every Volkswagen ID.4 trim uses the same 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The Pro (rear wheel drive single motor), Pro S (rear wheel drive single motor, larger battery), and AWD Pro (dual motor) all share the same wheel interface. Drivetrain is not a fitment-box axis on the ID.4. The rear wheel drive and all wheel drive ID.4 share the same bolt pattern, hub, diameter range, and width window. The AWD ID.4 is slightly heavier because of the front motor, but the wheel fitment is the same. Trim level does not change the wheel bolt pattern or hub bore on any ID.4.
