The Volkswagen Taos Bolt Pattern

Every Volkswagen Taos in our active catalog uses 5x112 with a 57.1mm hub bore and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The 5x112 / 57.1mm spec is the same passenger-car interface used across the modern VW Group lineup including the Jetta, Golf, GTI, Tiguan, Passat, and Atlas. VW runs lug bolts on the Taos, not lug studs and nuts the way most American and Asian crossovers do. The lug bolt threads directly into the hub, the wheel sits between the head of the bolt and the hub face, and there is no fixed lug stud to align the wheel before tightening. This makes a hub-centric fit more important on the Taos than on a stud-and-nut crossover.

The Taos rides on a compact version of the VW Group MQB platform, the same architecture family as the modern Jetta and Mk7/Mk8 Golf. Every Volkswagen Taos trim uses the same 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm hub bore, and M14x1.5 lug bolts. The S, SE, and SEL trims all share the same wheel interface. Drivetrain is not a fitment-box axis on the Taos. The front wheel drive Taos and the 4Motion all wheel drive Taos share the same bolt pattern, hub, diameter range, and width window. The 4Motion model carries a rear differential and runs slightly heavier, but the wheel fitment is the same. Trim level does not change the wheel bolt pattern or hub bore on any Taos.
