After a one-year gap, Ford renamed the larger Five Hundred sedan to Taurus for the 2008 model year, and that full-size Taurus (2008-2019) used the 5x114.3 bolt pattern with a 63.4mm hub bore through both its 5th and 6th generations. The 6th gen Taurus (2010-2019) brought back the SHO badge for the performance variant. The Ford Taurus Bolt Pattern Transition

The Taurus changed bolt patterns once across its production run, and the change coincides with a chassis change rather than a midcycle update. The original 1st gen through 4th gen Taurus (1986-2006) ran 5x108 with a 63.36mm hub bore. 5x108 is the Ford metric pattern used on the contemporary Sable, the Continental, and the original Lincoln LS. The 5x108 era Taurus was a midsize front-drive sedan platform Ford developed in the mid-1980s and refined through four generations.

For the 2008 model year, Ford renamed the larger Five Hundred (a full-size sedan launched in 2005) to Taurus. That 5th gen Taurus and the following 6th gen (2010-2019) both run 5x114.3 with a 63.4mm hub bore, the same pattern Ford uses on the Edge, the Flex, the modern Explorer, and the Lincoln MKS that shared the Taurus's D3 platform. The two bolt patterns sit roughly 6.3mm apart at the studs and the wheels do not interchange. A 5x108 wheel from a 2002 Taurus will not bolt onto a 2012 Taurus, and a 5x114.3 wheel from a 2015 Taurus will not bolt onto a 1998 Taurus. The detail buyers also miss: there was no 2007 Taurus. Ford discontinued the original 4th gen Taurus after the 2006 model year, sold the Five Hundred as its own nameplate for 2005-2007, then renamed the Five Hundred to Taurus for 2008. If your Taurus VIN decodes to a 2008 or later model year, it is a 5x114.3 car on the Five Hundred-derived chassis. Earlier than 2007, it is a 5x108 car on the original Taurus platform.

Taurus SHO and the 6th Gen Lineup

The 6th gen Taurus (2010-2019) returned the SHO badge to the lineup as the performance trim. SHO stood for Super High Output in the original 1989-1999 Taurus SHO and carried forward as the trim name for the 6th gen's 3.5 liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 all-wheel-drive variant. In our catalog, the 2010-2019 6th gen Taurus (all trims, including the SHO) sits in a single fitment row with one brake clearance window. The SHO uses the same 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 63.4mm hub bore, and the same brake clearance box we have measured across the 6th gen lineup. The Taurus runs square (same width front and rear) on every generation. The aftermarket sticks to square. The Taurus is a family sedan where tire rotation between front and rear is part of the maintenance routine, and the SHO is an all-wheel-drive car where staggered fitment would cause drivetrain bind. There is no factory staggered Taurus in any generation.
