The Audi A3 is Audi's entry compact sedan and hatchback, sold in modern US form across three generations: 8P (2006-2013), 8V (2015-2020), and the current 8Y (2021 and up). The lineup includes the A3 sedan and the A3 Sportback five door hatchback. Every modern A3 runs 5x112 with M14x1.5 lug bolts and a 57.1mm hub bore. Audi runs lug bolts on the A3, not studs and nuts. Quattro all wheel drive is optional on most trims and front wheel drive is the base configuration. Drivetrain does not change the bolt pattern, the hub bore, or the wheel options. The Audi A3 Bolt Pattern

Every modern A3 uses 5x112 with M14x1.5 lug bolts. Audi runs bolts on its sedans and hatches, not studs and nuts the way most American and Asian platforms do. The lug bolt threads directly into the hub, the wheel sits between the head of the bolt and the hub face, and there is no lug stud to align the wheel before tightening. This makes a hub centric fit more important on an A3 than on a stud and nut car. The bolt pattern has stayed 5x112 across the 8P (2006-2013), 8V (2015-2020), and the current 8Y (2021 and up). The centerbore is 57.1mm across every modern A3. That is the same hub bore the smaller Audi sedans and the older Audi mid size cars used before the 66.56mm step on the larger Audi platforms.

The 5x112 bolt pattern is shared with the rest of the modern Audi sedan family (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8) and the VW Group passenger car siblings (Golf R, GTI on the same MQB platform, Tiguan and others). It is NOT the same as the 5x130 pattern Audi used on the first generation Q7 SUV. The A3 hub bore of 57.1mm is smaller than the 66.56mm on the B8 and newer A4, so an A4 aftermarket wheel bored to 66.56mm will fit the A3 hub bolt pattern wise but will not sit hub centric on the A3's smaller 57.1mm hub without rings. Why A3 Body Style and Drivetrain Do Not Change Wheel Fit

The A3 sedan and the A3 Sportback hatchback share the same bolt pattern, hub bore, and lug spec within a generation. The Sportback adds a five door hatch body in place of the sedan trunk, but the front suspension geometry and the rear track width that drive wheel fitment do not change. A wheel that fits an A3 sedan of a given generation also fits the Sportback of the same generation. Drivetrain follows the same rule. The A3 ships with front wheel drive on the lower trims and Quattro all wheel drive on the higher trims, and the two configurations share the bolt pattern, hub bore, and aftermarket wheel window. Drivetrain is not a fitment axis on the A3.

Brake package and generation are the variables that do matter. The 8P (2006-2013) ran a smaller factory brake than the later cars. The 8V (2015-2020) sat in the middle. The 8Y (2021 and up) with the base brake stays close to the 8V offset window. The full performance brake packages (the S3 and the RS3 with the larger Brembo setup) push the minimum aftermarket diameter and tighten the offset window beyond what the standard A3 needs.
