The full performance RS3 is tracked as its own hub because it ships with an even larger Brembo brake package and (on the current 8Y) a factory staggered fitment with a much lower front offset. The Audi S3 Bolt Pattern

Every modern S3 uses 5x112 with M14x1.5 lug bolts. Audi runs bolts on its sedans, not studs and nuts the way most American and Asian platforms do. The lug bolt threads directly into the hub, the wheel sits between the head of the bolt and the hub face, and there is no lug stud to align the wheel before tightening. The bolt pattern has stayed 5x112 across the 8V (2015-2020) and the current 8Y (2022 and up). The centerbore is 57.1mm on every modern S3. That matches the A3 and RS3 of the same chassis. The S3 hub bore does not step up to 66.56mm the way the B8 and newer A4 and A6 do.

The 5x112 bolt pattern is shared with the rest of the modern Audi sedan family (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8) and the VW Group passenger car siblings (Golf R, GTI on the same MQB platform). It is NOT the same as the 5x130 pattern Audi used on the first generation Q7 SUV. The S3 hub bore of 57.1mm is smaller than the 66.56mm on the larger Audi platforms, so an aftermarket wheel bored to 66.56mm fits the S3 bolt pattern but does not sit hub centric on the S3 hub without rings. Why the S3 Brake Package Determines Wheel Fit

The S3 ships with a larger factory front brake than the standard A3. That is the normal configuration on a performance compact, where the front brake handles the bulk of the braking force and gets the bigger caliper and rotor. The practical consequence for wheels is that the S3 minimum aftermarket diameter sits at 18 inch (vs 17 inch on the base A3) and the offset window is tighter because the caliper face sits closer to the back of the wheel. Quattro AWD is standard on every modern S3. Drivetrain is not a fitment variable on the S3 because every car is AWD, and the square (non staggered) factory fitment is consistent with the Quattro setup.

The S3 sedan body is the only body style available in the US. The Sportback hatchback is offered in some markets but not US. Generation moves the engine and the chassis refinement (the 8Y is the current car with a 2024 model year refresh on the powertrain) but the bolt pattern, hub bore, and brake clearance window stay close to the 8V baseline.
