The Audi S6 Bolt Pattern

Every modern S6 uses 5x112 with M14x1.5 lug bolts (Audi runs lug bolts, not studs and nuts). The pattern matches the A6 sibling and the rest of the modern Audi sedan family. Centerbore steps with the chassis: 57.1mm on the C6 S6 (2007-2011) and 66.56mm on the C7 S6 (2013-2018) and the current C8 S6 (2020 and up). That is the same centerbore transition the A6 made, because the S6 and A6 share the chassis underneath the trim differences.

Same-chassis cross-shopping: a wheel that fits a C7 A6 (2012-2018) bolts to a C7 S6, and a wheel that fits a C8 A6 (2019 and up) bolts to a C8 S6. The bolt math works. What does not always cross is the front brake clearance, because the S6 front brake is larger than the A6 of the same chassis. Why The S6 Brake Package Tightens The Aftermarket Window

The S6 ships with a brake package sized one tier larger than the A6 of the same chassis. The front brake is larger than the rear across every modern S6 generation, which is standard on a performance sedan of this caliber. The practical aftermarket implication: the limiting fitment dimension on the S6 is the front caliper top, not the rear. Inner-barrel clearance behind the wheel face on the front determines whether a wheel clears at all, before we even get to fender clearance or tire fitment.

The C7 S6 (2013-2018) is the most-tightened generation in our measured window. Element catalog notes flag that almost no 19 inch wheels clear the top of the front brake caliper on the C7 S6, and the front offsets that work on the A6 of the same chassis often do not clear the larger S6 caliper. The fix is going up in diameter (20-21 inch) AND running a more conservative front offset than the typical A6. The C8 S6 widens the brake clearance enough that 20 inch wheels are workable as the floor, with 21-22 inch as the most common aftermarket choice. The C6 S6 (2007-2011) ran a smaller-caliber front brake than the C7 / C8, with the measured aftermarket window opening to 19-20 inch.
